I am so grateful this brick and mortar store continues to thrive! In fact, a while back they had expand. Located across Beechnut from Meyerland Plaza. They have a chocolate bar/candy bar attached to the toy store. They have every toy imaginable under the sun for all ages. You can find books and even little outfits, and cute little novelties. It's a fun store for kids and adults! Really! It's so fun to look around and reminisce about when you were young and would go to toy stores. They have a little book section with a huge carpet that kids can sit and read books or you can read a book or two to them. Also, they gift wrap beautifully. Within moments of walking through the doors you are greeted and asked whether if you need any assistance. The employees are so helpful with the large variety of toys they carry! They're not the cheapest but they certainly are some of the best!!!!! My toddler loves coming and reading the books in the book corner! I decided to go searching for Jellycats in Houston and I came across Tomfoolery. First off, I think the name is precious. Secondly, I had such a great time shopping around this store! It was very easy to find the Jellycats because of the signage and wow! Their display is adorable! One of the women working was very welcoming and told me to ask if I wanted anything out of the case. I ended up buying the birthday cake Jellycat, and having to "order" it out of a real cake case was so fun! They had such a great selection of Jellycats, not just the ones in the case. I love how Jellycat uplifts small businesses by including them as official stockists. I also noticed that the prices of Jellycats were the exact same as prices listed on the official Jellycat website. Amazing! Beyond just Jellycats, though, Tomfoolery has a ton of tons for kids of all ages. Some toys are more educational and others are just good fun. There was also a wide variety of candies available, but after I chose my Jellycat I zeroed in on the Calico Critters. I love anything mystery so it was fun to pick up one of the Calico Critters mystery bags. From trendy toys that have reached popularity among adults (like myself) to nostalgic classics from my childhood (Mad Libs), Tomfoolery really seems to have it all. Employees always seem to greet other women but ignore me maybe because of my color or look. I usually go to fundamentally toys bc of their great service but recently they closed. Also, I got Easter baskets from them and they never called to let me know they're ready. I emailed them but they kept claiming that someone called and left a message and to come pick up the baskets. However I have proof on my phone of no such thing. They just kept telling me I'm wrong and just to come get them. I've never worked with such horrible customer service and will never shop here again. I've never felt welcomed there and regret buying these baskets from them. Such rude employees! I'm also afraid they'll retaliate rudely but I'm so upset. read more

TERRIBLE customer service hassling me the entire time I was in the store when I was just hoping to pleasantly browse around the store with my service dog. I suggest you get familiar with Texas law and service dogs as a public access store. I've been spending MONTHS and THOUSANDS of dollars to train my dog and have the right to be in there with him by Texas law. My dog and I left others alone and kept to ourselves we just wanted to browse jellycats because you're one of the few stores that carry them in Houston. And I'm appalled how you kept hassling me after I spent a lot of money last week in your store and the other retail worker was so kind to us over the weekend. Just a suggestion I'm sorry you ruined my shopping experience and my day. read more

I needed a birthday present but didn't want to shop in a store. I called Tomfoolery and the extremely nice sales associate said she would be happy to pick out some items. I gave her the recipients age, interests and budget. She picked out several fun and age appropriate toys and gift wrapped them in a bag with tissue paper. I feel bad about this, but I can't with this store. They aren't buying from independent merchants, they don't care about teachers, they are waaaayyyy overpriced. I love to support small businesses, but they are charging you TRIPLE. They are good at presentation. Cute store with lots of familiar but also some unique trinkets and toys I hadn't seen elsewhere. The store is spacious enough to navigate without a problem. It also has a cute play area where a kitchen toy and a mat is set out for kids to explore other toys. Those looking for books will appreciate the small book area in one corner of the store.
