I hate post so many negative reviews, I really do. I walked in here 2 nights ago and saw that 4 out of 5 employees involved with the food preparation process were not wearing gloves. They are not chefs with high standards back there, they are teenagers who may or may not wash their hands after a bathroom break, picking their nose, handling money, etc. We ended up going next door to Captains Pizza. read more

A bridgeport institution so I've read..I have driven by many times , it went unnoticed ,a small hotdog shack so i ignored it. NOT TONIGHT, as I drove by , the bright lights flooding the street and huge glass facade caught my full attention. They completely expanded and rebuilt that small shack into a modern beautiful restaurant with a drive thru.. This to me means success and success in a restaurant can only mean one thing GOOD FOOD ! .. so I stopped to eat, and it was a good decision.. I had the special 2 dogs with the works including chilli & steak fries with chilli.. master piece in classic diner food comfort. It had the right amount of spice and snappy fresh cut raw onions. The steak fries,were seasoned perfectly and fried just right. I'd come back just for them. Now I understand why they've been around so long..The one thing i would want differently were the type of hotdogs served. They were good but maybe its all the years of eating NY sabret's or pushcart water dogs i mean even hotdog made at home have that 'snap'. when I bit into these hotdogs I didnt get that ' 'crunch' or 'snap' you get in all beef dog.. I first went to this burger place when it was just a shack in the middle of a parking lot. You would go in one end of the shack, buy your food, and exit the other end. That was 15 years ago. Now it's a bonafide drive-in type restaurant, complete with drive thru. The fare is classic burgers and hot dogs with all the fixings, plus they have other types of sandwiches (BLTs, etc.) and salads. It's fresh and delicious and the service is extremely friendly. When I went, the owner (I think it was the owner) took our order, was gracious to us the whole time and made it a point to say thank you to us as we were walking out. This is what In-n-Out would be like if it were a family restaurant. read more

My husband grew up in Bridgeport so this was a place he had to take me. He loves the chili burgers!!! I had a cheeseburger and we shared fries and a drink. It was all great. Tomlinsons is a greatplace for a freat burger or dog. When i go i usually order the foot long dog with chili and cheese. The chili has a lil kick to it but its really good! Frenchfries sometimes i really over do it. Chili cheese fries. Its worth the overdose of chili and cheese! The food is reasonably priced and the place is clean.ive never gotten anything from here that wasnt good... food is always tasty. Hot food is hot cold food is cold. I don't know what's happening lately? The food was hands down one of the best places for classic fast food but lately....not so much. Here's the big issue...hire friendly people to work the register. They seem miserable. It goes a long way to just be at least pleasant. Please, please, please work on speeding up the drive thru. Finally....bacon and cooking to order, why does bacon snap back like a rubber band??? Cook it...crispy but not burnt. The way bacon is supposed to be. Hot dogs ordered split well done and you open it... not split and not well done, why? Fix those little issues and my goodness this place would be the best around. read more

Been going here for north of 30 years, but had a bad experience today. I went to the drive-thru (only option), placed my order (thru their ancient drive-thru speaker), and eventually proceeded to the window to pay and get the food (approx. 5 minute wait in line). I get to the window, and they did not hear my order (or some excuse like that) ... so no food was ready. I asked how long it would take at this point, and the employee mumbled that it would take about 10 MINUTES. I said, forget it, and left. Never again. I understand that we are in a pandemic situation, but a fast-food establishment that can't get their act together at their drive-thru has some explaining to do. read more

Tomlinson's is the best! You cannot beat their hotdogs. It just looks like a plain old fast food place but it is great. The food usually comes out quick and there is plenty of room inside so you won't have to worry about the seating. The drive through is also a plus for when you're in a hurry! read more

We stopped in yesterday on our way back home, have not been here in years. I used to go back in the 70's with my grandfather when the little shack was on the corner, such great memories. Anyway we both ordered a chicken gyro and it was basically ok but the tzatziki sauce was very plain and just tasted like mayo. It made the gyro boring. The French fries were good. It's a shame what this place has become. When I was a kid they had the best hot dogs around, back then it was a little shack and was tremendous. I don't know what kind of hot dogs they use now but they are not even close to what they use to be...they are now wrinkled, dry and tasteless. Making things even worse now is the people who work there. Walked in tonight and I've never seen more miserable people. And to top things off they got my order wrong and when I went back in to let them know them seemed like I was bothering them. Tomlinson's is among the best fast food restaurants in Fairfield County. Everything is cooked to order with big portions. Cashiers are friendly and the line moves quickly. The last time I visited the restaurant the manager was at the front of the line asking every customer if they needed anything else before they left. Tomlinson's steak fries and curly fries are to die for, and their veggie burgers are delicious with lots of veggies instead of being made entirely of soy beans. My family members love their regular cheeseburgers and prefer them over any other burgers in town. The only place in Bridgeport that rivals Tomlinson's is the Merritt Canteen. read more

Had their Greek salad and tater tots recently then I notice I haven't written a review on this location. I love their tater tots always hot and crispy. I have been here a few times for breakfast and lunch. I haven't been disappointed yet. My husband always gets the bacon egg and cheese which is his favorite. I have had the sausage egg and cheese on a roll very good. If your look for some good eats this is a place to check out. I have also had their shakes which is good I can not complain. Great fast food place and the staffs pretty quick at getting your order ready. Only down fall is a lot of people bring there kids there and parents now a days really don't care that there kids are roaming around and doing what they want so it's pretty aggravating when you're trying to eat and the parents are letting there kids run and yell and do what they please. read more

This place is a Park City institution. Great fast food with taste that you just won't get from a chain fast food joint. Also, the prices are good- for instance at my last visit, I got two dogs with the "works" and a small order of rings for 6 bucks. Tomlinson's also has a drive up window. read more

I first went here back in 95 when it was the shack & I fell head over heels! I ALWAYS got a hotdog w/the bacon bits underneath it, mustard & relish , a nice thick milkshake & the hottest, saltiest, greasiest fries EVAH! YUMMO! I would switch up for the Bacon Cheeseburger & a Pepsi on occasion also just as delish. The prices were good, the crowds were always mixed & cool. I was SAD as HELL to see the shack go & the restraunt pop up in its place. It went up in price (to cover the new restraunts costs), lost it's eclectic touch, etc. The food just doesn't taste the same to me. Others have echoed my sentiments too. I bet the food is the same but the atmosphere really put it over the top. I still go on occasion but I feel saddened. My hotdog is not the same without the smell of the greasy grill, the crowds all lined up inside going outside the door of the shack, etc. Ahhh well all things must come to an end I suppose.
