I emailed Andy and he was kind enough to come out that day and meet Alfie (and us, the humans in Alfie's life.) Andy started coming the next day to run with Alfie and wear him out until we get home. It's only been a few weeks but so far, so good. Andy is a pleasure to deal with. He's communicative and great with both people and animals. To top it off, Dan actually let me know that I had overpaid them and said that he would credit my account for a future vacation - now that, my friends, is honesty. Although very nice and professional-sounding over the phone ahead of my cats and my arrival, when I met him, it was a completely different story. I'm not sure exactly what I did to bother him - when we got to the basement room in his house in which he keeps cats - I began to set up my kitties' things as a convenience to him. But shortly after I left, he called me in a rage, yelled, swore at me, and threatened to put my cats out on the street. I tried to ask what I'd done to make him so mad, but he hung up on me and wouldn't pick up again. When I finally got back to the house shaken, my poor, shy cat had had a bucket of water dumped on her and was crying. Jakob's stepdad helped me pack up my kitties' things and gave me some cash in exchange for some of their food I'd brought over earlier and couldn't find. I could tell he was accustomed to Jakob behaving in this manner and he was nice and apologetic, and gave me his business card. Even so, this was a nightmare of a time, especially considering the reason I needed to board my cats, which was that I needed to immediately evacuate a house that I'd learned was unsafe and wasn't able to bring my cats with me to the place I'd be staying at until I could find a new one. Jakob was aware of this situation and did what he did anyway. Funnily enough, shortly after I posted this review, a bunch of fake, RAVING PRAISE reviews were written about this "business," and they were all in the "Not Recommended" reviews section, because they probably figured out that Jakob himself wrote them (they all said one way or another "JAKOB especially was so awesome." He tries to accomodate all of our requests, which is pretty amazing given how nitpicky our cats are. I never realized this until I had to leave instructions for him... But I digress, Jakob is a great person to have managing your pets. And his knowledge and skills as a vet tech should add an extra level of comfort.

They knew how to make her comfortable. The benefit of using a company instead of Rover is that when one of the dog walkers moved on to a new career, the company had a new employee ready to take over so I didn't need to spend time searching for a replacement. Tails on Trails is very reliable and they take great care of the dogs. I'm not sure why some of these older reviews are negative, but that certainly hasn't been our experience at all.

We know that as our house has multiple cameras with LIVE view as well. One camera was sitting right in the living room, with a green light on it, so it was not even hidden. What really aggravated us was how short some of the walks were and what actually was reported. Once we got back we confronted the owner with the info, not for any type of refund or other but just informational so she knows. She did confront the walker who apparently denied that the visits were not cut short. Altogether not very happy and will not use them again.

They found a bucket in the house and put it under the drips, called me, and sent a video to my phone. When I landed I was able to schedule a plumber right away to meet me at the house. By having the bucket in place they prevented untold damage to the kitchen and basement. They've been easy to schedule and work with and respond quickly to e-mails. When I come home my little dude is always happy, well fed, and has plenty of water in his dish. If I wasn't moving far away, I'd definitely continue using their service.
