We definitely would have been fine splitting both dishes as the portions are super generous and we ended up having to box some for later. The apple pancake is massive, sweet and very tasty! Met with several people. Shook a lot of hands. Looked at some things. One guy had a map. By about 6pm I had done basically everything a businessman can legally do in one day so I decided to get dinner. Went to TMACS. Sat at the bar because I was by myself and sitting at a table by yourself makes it look like someone is coming. Nobody was coming. The lady gave me the menu. I told her I wasnt very hungry. She recommended the octopus. I said lets do it. I have always respected the octopus because it has 8 arms and still doesnt have a job. Octopus came out. Very good. Charred on the outside. Tender inside. Had some sauce and other things around it. I ate all of those too. At this point I was no longer hungry which had been the original goal. Then she asked what I wanted for dinner. This caught me off guard because I thought the octopus had counted. She recommended the bolognese. I said lets do that too. This is one thing I like about restaurants. You can just keep ordering. Bolognese came out and immediately became a serious situation. Big wide pasta. Rich meat sauce. Parmesan. Everything stuck to everything correctly. I dont know who invented bolognese but they understood that sometimes spaghetti needs more stuff on it. Very good. Halfway through dinner a glass broke. Everybody heard it. For about 2 seconds the entire restaurant became about the glass. Then it wasnt anymore. Incredible recovery. I talked to the staff quite a bit because I was at the bar and thats where they keep the staff. Very friendly people. One of the waitresses told me she had never been outside Walla Walla. I had just driven there from Bend Oregon. Between the two of us we had been to at least 2 places. I told her Bend is nice. She said Walla Walla is nice. We made a lot of progress. Then they started talking about the goat milk cheesecake. I reminded them I wasnt hungry. This information had not helped me earlier and did not help me now. Ordered the goat milk cheesecake. Very good cheesecake. I dont normally know what animal the milk came from when I eat cheesecake so it was nice having that information upfront. Goat did a great job. At this point I had eaten octopus, cow and goat in about 90 minutes. Basically toured the farm. Then I learned the restaurant was originally T. Maccarone's because the founder's actual last name is Maccarone. This guy was born with the last name Maccarone and opened a restaurant with pasta. Sometimes life tells you what to do. If his last name had been Hamburger this could have been a completely different place. Eventually they changed the name to TMACS which is much faster to say. Smart. I paid the bill. Everyone said goodbye. I walked back to my hotel extremely full even though I had entered the restaurant not hungry. That is a 100% increase in hunger elimination. I dont give investment advice but these are strong numbers. Excellent octopus. Excellent bolognese. Excellent goat cheesecake. Excellent staff. Glass situation resolved. Would recommend TMACS to anyone who is in Walla Walla and needs food. If you are not in Walla Walla you will need to get here first. 5 stars.

First off ... The food is great. The experience with the grandchildren at Tommy's has always been a great time. The owner usually visits the tables first thing in the morning. A time to teach the little ones about right and wrong. The wait staff are so attentive to your needs even before you acknowledge your need. Top Notch. This Saturday morning I was able to take my grandchildren from out of state to Tommy's. The waitress was exceptional as always. Then a family sat down next to us with their butt licking dog. A warm feeling came over me like I was having breakfast with my GrandTiggers in the middle of Walmart. Such a family environment. As I was ready to stand up and leave Tommy's I quickly decided to keep being an example for my Grandchildren. I will talk to them on the way home and explain how inappropriate and unclean bringing a pet to a restaurant is. Now I wonder if the owner will start allowing uncooked farm animals in. Yes I'm a little pissed. I'll get over it eventually. Now the Mr Ed's is closed and Tommy's is too homey I will have to call Heather's and ask about pets in the restaurant. Drove by not thinking to stop, had another place in mind ... But my inner self said I needed to go and glad I did. This is the place you hear about and just need to make the effort to stop! Local favorite slinging some great breakfast and lunch. Lots to choose from ... Giant Pancakes, Biscuits 'n Gravy, Chicken Fried Steak, Slabs of Grilled Ham and eggs to your liking .... all served in a cozy little spot just off the main highway. A definite must if you like hearty breakfast food heaped on a plate at a very reasonable price! Tables and counter service but be prepared to wait just a bit as they are very popular. I took a spot at the counter, my favorite chair for a breakfast meal and had the Chicken Fried Steak with Hash Browns and Eggs over easy. Everything was great! Definitely coming back. read more

I pulled up and started doing some work on my phone waiting to give my order. It was around 8:05 when I realized how long it had been. There were still some cars here so I assumed they were catching up. Well now it is 8:19 and they turned the lights out. The guys inside are looking down trying to avoid eye contact. So bizarre. Why couldn't they have come over and said that it was too late? Or literally anything. I'm parked in the second stall from the front. I very rarely write reviews. When I do it's to alert others to something I wish I had known before I came. Something that woukd have made me go there or stopped me from coming here. This is obviously the latter. If I had a cranky child, parent or wife with me, or needed to eat before a show or movie or something it would have ruined my night and possibly year (slightly exaggerated but you get the point). I won't be back. This wasn't a misunderstanding or slightly off food or a minor menu discrepancy. This was blatantly rude and very very easily avoided. It's 8:26 and I'm finishing up this review and about to head to Ice Berg. The employees are inside stil and avoiding eye contact. It's too bad because I did like this place but I won't be back and I'll add some humor to this story and make it a short story that I'll tell others about when this place comes up in conversation. It's now 8:32. I've been here 44 minutes and they're obviously closed and nobody has said a word to me. If it was my first time here I would have left at 8:00 and not had a bad thing to say at all !
