DO NOT VISIT THIS CAR WASH! THEY ARE SCAMMERS! During my visit, on Saturday, July 18th at 2pm I purchased "The Works" car wash for $24. Upon exiting, I discovered that the right corner panel edge of my vehicle was bent back. I immediately spoke with the shift lead, Nikyah, at 2:15 PM to file a claim and she took photographs of the damage. I was informed that a manager, either Bill or Kevin, would review the footage and that the site would cover the repair costs if the damage was verified. After several attempts to reach management, I spoke with Bill on Monday, July 20th. He claimed that the vehicle had prior damage that caused the machine to catch and bend the panel further. This is incorrect due to as both the left and right sides of my vehicle were in identical, undamaged condition prior to entering the wash. Furthermore, Bill denied my request to view the video footage or photos, and the site has since refused to provide insurance information or proof of prior damage to my own insurance company. Since this initial incident, I have also discovered scratches on the driver's side door near the handle caused by the machine brushes. This company is shady, will scam you and try and say you had prior damage done to your car. There are other reviews on google showing that damage has been done to other's vehicles and the company refuses to help in repair the damage. read more

I want to let current customers and potential customers know the horrible experience I had yesterday, June 8, 2026. I was in shock the way I was treated by the manager of the Forest Hill Avenue, Richmond, VA location. I was verbally abused. He caused me out and threatened me! I was on the belt and he asked me to follow my window down and he called me every name in the book and said he could come for me later. I rolled my window up he finally started the belt up again. I drove off and Immediately reported him. As a loyal customer I am very disappointed and will never return to any Tommy's locations. After being threatened by a manager I feel very uncomfortable. Paid for the "works" and left with scratches along the sides of my new vehicle. When I showed it to them, they tried to gaslight me by saying it could not have been their machines because the scratches weren't horizontal. So, I will just attach pictures. You decide. Are these horizontal scratches? They claimed later that they did an internal audit and that it couldn't have been their machines so they are trying to do literally nothing to remedy their damages. It is just icing on the cake that my car is still not clean after going through the car wash (not pictured). If you want to try them out, take numerous close-up photos before and after. read more

First time here. My car really needed a wash. Usually I go to my local gas station, but I had heard good feedback and the car wash is always busy. So I thought I'd give it a try... As with most car washes, there is a range of wash options. I went for the "Quality" wash for $6... Great wash! PLUS you can roller clean your floor mats (wet or dry) as well as a ver powerful vacuum system!!! I am impressed!! My car is sparkling!! I went there a week ago and paid for the #1 option (the most expensive)... Their machines do a minimal job of cleaning the car. My wheels weren't clean at all, and the car overall still looked dirty. Of course it was better than it was when I went in, but it definitely wasn't clean. When they first opened they were descent. Now its just a waste of money. Maybe they need to replace some of the equipment to get back to those descent washes. Otherwise at this point I feel like I was robbed of my hard earned money. read more

Have had a monthly pass here since they have opened. Friday March 8 my fiance ran my vehicle thru and the machine broke the driver side mirror. The employees were apologetic and manager Mike Napier assured her they would take care of the damage to simply provide them where we wanted the work done and they would take care of the situation. My fiance tried getting in touch with Mr. Napier later Friday, Saturday and finally reached him Sunday afternoon and he informed her that "upon further review" their was prior damage (which there was not) and they would not honor their promise to repair/replace the mirror (approx $1200). Got a 2 free "works" wash in the mail to celebrate their grand opening. Wash experience was great. I imagine that there could be a wait for the vacuums if it got busy. There are about 13 spaces with hoses for each side of your car. Wash was just as good as others. Will come back for the other free wash for sure. read more

Wait time was quite short. I bought the simple car wash option and it did a decent job of cleaning my car. There were some spots(bird feces) that the wash wasn't able to get but I was fine with that. The one downside was getting my paint scratched and chipped. (I expected this to happen at any automatic car wash) Overall I'm satisfied with this car wash. read more

I visited this place since the weather would be nice for the next week. This customer service was very good, the lady that waited on me was very hospitable. I told her I was leery because the Yelp reviews were not that great. I ordered the top car wash for $16. My car was not that dirty. After the car wash I went to the vacuum area. I did not stay as long as I normally would as I was on a tight schedule. My car looked clean for the most part. However, I was wrong I noticed a spot on my door that was still there. The manager hung up on me after I expressed my dissatisfaction with the car wash. Following up on this issue with their corporate people was even more frustrating. The Tommy's Carwash organization appears not to have any pride in their service and does not care about customer satisfaction. Offering a free car rinse would have kept me as their loyal customer. I have never been to an automated car wash that did not have an employee making sure you were lined up correctly, so your car and their machines do not get damaged. I waited for five minutes while the employee played with his phone vs helping me. I was actually on the speaker phone myself did not know you could hear the conversation. I told my friend what a lazy worthless person they had hired, and it was a shame how lazy and rude is ok at Tommy Wash. I was asked to leave because it hurt the lazy bum's feelings me calling him out. I had been asking to speak to the manager for months he is never there. I went back three times over a four hour period and he was never there. He finally showed up and could care less did nothing. It seems the employees are allowed to stand around and do nothing while your car gets damaged. If you want your car washed by a company who's manager and employees care more about facebook on their phone vs doing the job they were paid to do does not value your business, then go to Tommy Wash. What they failed to realize is I have been here since 1968 and know everyone in town. Word of mouth will fix this problem. read more

Two weeks ago I spoke with the Manager on duty in person at this Car Wash about the fact that I purchased a 90 Day Car Wash plan for roughly $ 90. I was charged the $ 90 for 3 months, but I was only allowed 30 days rather than the 90 days. I left my name and phone number with the Manager to find out why I paid $ 90 for access for only 30 days. Even after 2 weeks I still have not heard back from the Manager or from anyone at this location about their ability to resolve their issue and mistake. Tommy's Car Wash is only interested in selling and promising, rather than actually delivering any service or value. They hide behind pawning you off to an out of town phone number for you to resolve their shortcomings and mistakes. You basically have to pay to go through this wash a few times per day in order to get your car cleaned as it would be with one cleaning at other Car Washes like Car Pool and Dave's Auto Spa. Let me tell you about my experience at Tommy express. After I got my truck washed and while using the vacuums a friend of mine who works at the glass shop next door saw me and walked over to start chatting. We are talking about life and work for about 10 mins before Joesph the "shift manager" came up to me and ask what we were doing. Of course my friend and I looked at him stupidity because obviously we talking. He then proceeds to ask why are we talking here at this spot. (My truck is literally 20 ft away with all four doors open my golf clubs and few other items outside) which we just laughed and said he's at work and we're just talking. Then Joseph has the nerves to accuse me of trying to steal his rusty piece of shit bike.. why would I want to steal his stupid bike when I have a new Silverado? My friend and his manager from the glass shopped walked over and said something because technically Joseph had locked his bike on their fence. So when you think Joesph Is done saying stupid shit, he then has guts to look at my friend and say " why is your nose so red?, are you drugs?" I couldn't believe it, this "manager" had the nerves to call Tyler a drug addicted all because we were having a nice conversation next to his bike that was locked up. I we'll be coming In tomorrow to speak with the owner but as of right now I'll will never spend any more of my hard earn money on this clown operation! If I could give them none I would. I never get my car washed at places like this but this place opened up down the street from my house and looked all shiny and new so I thought I'd give it a shot. I took my car through the wash and after I was done I got out to spot dry and vacuum and found not just one but a LOT of scratches all over the right side of my hood. After spending quite a bit of time filling out paper work and taking photos I was told they would be in touch with me in 48 hours. It has been a full week. I have emailed them and nothing. This place is my jam! Not only does it look futuristic and retro all at the same time, luring you in like a tractor beam, but it is fast, effective, and inexpensive! Compared to competitors- all I can say is wow! I was a Short Pump dweller for years now a city girl. This place would kick a$$ out in the burbs. I like all the self vacuuming stalls with DOUBLE hoses so you can reach both sides of your car with ease, and you can get a little packet of additional items (drying rag, freshener, etc) dispensed for a few more bucks at the vacuuming area as an option . It was an ok wash but the reason I only give 3 stars is because another customer cut in line in front of myself and two other vehicles who were waiting for over 10 minutes for the vacuums. I understand that because of COVID half of the vacuums are closed but they should have had an employee outside directing the flow of traffic which would have prevented this situation and prevented wasting my time waiting for a vacuum for over 10 minutes. read more

I paid for a # 1 and the person running the wash puts the code in for a #3. Watch the code #as you enter the car wash and say something about it then if it is not the code# you paid for. Or you will have to go back around the car wash get in line in order to get what you paid for, which is a waste of time. The manager wasn't in so I was told, because I wanted the difference back between a #1 and a #3, and was told they couldn't do that. So, I'm writing this review in hopes that manager sees this. The car wash gets a 5 star, however. I feel there is a scheme going on in regards to the codes that are being put in and what you actually pay for. (PS my receipt shows $16.00) read more
