Well what can I say about Tommy's Pizza. Their food is good. My uncle and Aunt always order from there on friday and saturday night. So me and my husband start ordering from there. We live a little distance, so we have to drive to get to Tommy's. I remember one time we came home from a trip came all the way home and decided we wanted chicken cheese steaks. Got back in our car and ruled to the fish town area to get a chicken cheese steak, French fries and my husband always get of a vanilla milkshake. Oh and I didn't tell you about the delicious mozzarella sticks. They don't even make it home once they come out the restaurant. I open them up in my car and I demolish. Sometimes we get a chicken stromboli because it's cheaper to get a stromboli than 2 chicken cheese steaks. The restaurant is very clean but only thing that I don't get is why the bad one is always out of order. Especially if you're eating in and you wanna wash your hands to use the restroom before you eat. The owner is nice. My hoagie wasn't right so I call and left a message. I lived too far to take it my food back. So he refunded me something else and I got a small cheese pizza. And that was good. That was nice of to fix the problem. The restaurant also have lunch specials and family dinner specials. The only thing that I really don't like is no parking in the area. Sometimes we have to call our order in. And when we are about 2 blocks away. Because I like to have hot food and then my husband gets out and pick it up and pay for it. Their price are reasonable. They do deliver but not where we live. The staff is nice they have a large menu. Every time I go here and we find a good parking spot. I always change my mind all the time. On the food that I want to eat. But I like the chicken cheese steak with fried onions, pickles, a lot of ketchup, American cheese and seeded peppers. read more

Wings: Classic pizza shop wings Pizza: So so cheesy, soft crust and good ratio of cheese to sauce. Great price and the best I've had in the neighborhood. Stromboli: SO much cheese. Comes with onions and green peppers, so ask if you don't want those. The cheese was awesome, the crust was light and tasty, and the size was huge. I will gladly be back, but based on other reviews, I might stick to the wings, pizza and stromboli. read more

I would say a notch or two above a traditional pizza shop cheesesteak. Seating, bathroom, real soap and paper towels; big pluses. The woman running the counter was awesome. I tried the new menu item Cheesesteak egg roll, I could have skipped that. What else can I say? If you're in Fishtown and you need a solid pizza shop and bathroom, Tommy's is your place. I love Tommy's food and their pizza is amazing, but my biggest issue is the ladies behind the counter taking and handling money and them making food with their bare hands! C'MON! Especially during the COVID crisis. I just don't think I can go there anymore... I'm now playing with my life and my families with that type of irresponsible handling of food. Tommy's is your standard Fishtown pizza and hoagie shop - it's frequented by locals, is not much to look at, but makes decent food at reasonable prices. I recommend the "Tommy's Special Pizza", as it is only $13 for a large with plenty of toppings. It's not "hand tossed", "brick oven", "flatbread" or anything else fancy, but it's pretty tasty as a quick pizza. They use oil on the crust, but it's not Pizza Hut greasy; just understand that's how it's made. The burgers and hoagies are satisfactory as well - eat up! read more

Just a normal hoagie/pizza joint. Solid food at great prices. I got a cheesesteak and it was pretty good. Not fatty or papery meat. Fresh roll. Not too greasy. Better than anything I've ever gotten at Pat's/Geno's. The staff was extremely pleasant. I just moved in across the street and I can definitely see myself going there from time to time. I was told Central Pizza a block away was better, but I haven't been there yet so I can't say. I'll try it and let you know :-) Update: Central was better. Not by much though. read more

What's not to love about tommies ?? They're quick, friendly, and food comes out good. I believe they switch owners because the price has gone up a few extra dollars and the portion has gotten smaller, but over all this place is good enough for a corner pizza shop. read more

Called to order take out. Online menu was not very clear and so I called for take out. Since it was my first time ordering from there (husband usually orders), I asked a few questions for clarification and the lady on the phone got annoyed and her tone of voice changed and became rude. "Okay hun." Trying to support neighborhood business here, but this is why I don't like ordering around the hood. So rude. Food isn't that great to begin with. Working in Fishtown I often visit Tommy's pizza for lunch. It's a great place to sit down, relax and enjoy fresh cooked food. Tommy the owner is a really nice guy, often comes from behind the counter to ask how you are and actually cares. The place is one of the cleanest pizza joints I ever been to. Did I mention, if you get delivery it will most likely be there before you hang up.. Try Tommy's if your looking for somewhere to just sit down, read the paper and eat some quality cheesesteaks. Its strange, they manage to get the dough down perfect, which is where most places mess up, but the pizza just doesn't come together. The sauce seems too sweet and the cheese has a strange rubbery consistency. That said, the steak stromboli is great, and maybe with the sauce on the inside it doesn't dry out as much or the salty meat plays well against it because I think they have the best stromboli in town. Chicken wings are above average, especially for a small mom-pop shop. The stuffed tater tots are pretty good as a side too. Basically, there are a few hits and a few misses on the menu, but overall, a great choice for a local rainy night, or a night you just don't feel like dealing with gourmet take-out. read more

One day I walked into Tommy's because I was absolutely starving and couldn't walk another block for some pizza. I ordered a few slices. My friend had told me previously that he didn't like the pizza there in the slightest, but I was too hungry to care. How bad could it even be, it's pizza after all. It's nearly impossible to screw up. I received my slices and began to dig in, only to slowly realize that gee, could this be what bad pizza actually tastes like? It took me a while to put my finger on, but I finally figured out what that distinct flavor: it's grade school cafeteria pizza. Try it for yourself and see if that's not an accurate description. Rubbery cheese and spongy crust. *AVOID THIS PIZZA PLACE* Last night me and my family ordered a small pie, an order of fries, and some mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks were undercooked and tasted like they were months old. The pizza was greasy and rubbery, I ordered it with peppers and onions which they decided to throw on after the pizza had been made, making them sloppy by the time they got to my house. The fries were the only good part of the meal and that's not saying much since fries are near impossible to screw up. Despite the name Tommie's is not a "restaurant" because a restaurant serves food Tommie's seems to serve stomach problems and slop. Easily the worst pizza in the area. I know not to expect too much from your average hole-in-the-wall joint in Philadelphia, but this was practically inedible. The crust was kind of soft and spongy (though still, somehow, dry) with no real flavor (reminding me of Digiorno's), the sauce tasted off- almost sour, and the cheese was a congealed mess with large puddles of grease on top. I asked if something was perhaps off today and the manager defensively declared it was the same as always and fresh out of the oven. Regardless, all but two bites of mine ended up in the trash and I still can't get the taste out of my mouth. Just awful. read more
