    Buffalo Chicken Pizza

Very bare-bones place with good thin-crust pizza. Friendly service. You can eat in at tables in the back but it's got all the ambiance of a veterinary exam room. It seems to be very popular for office lunch orders; they were stacking up an order of 20 pies when I was there.

Service was great and the pizzas are sufficiently large, however, the margarita I felt was subpar in comparison to others in the area.

No matter what time of day or day for that matter, NYPD pizza is a very solid go to pizza joint in Philly. Yes,parking fuggin sux. Yes, It's across from Jefferson on a busy corner and you will invariably see a cluster of health care heroes , the ailing, homeless, residents and students all within arms length. It certainly is not street appeal nor ambiance that brings you in At All. You go here for the slice. The red top pie is the best because it's saucy and cheesy AF and the dough holds up. But for you pizza purist and pizza snobs who are allergic to the prowess of sauce on top, well, there's the trusty pizza pie formula of crust, sauce then cheese and toppings. The crust has a nice thin crispy bottom with a layer of dough chew. No lumpy tips here! The slice holds up to the fold, quality melty cheese and a more savory than sweet sauce. Sauce to cheese ratio is almost perfect for the redtop pie, I feel that it is slightly under sauced and skimpy with the cheese on the regular pie, but that's my personal opinion. Solid Philly Pizza even if they call it NYPD pizza.

This is my favorite place to get lunch in the city! The pizza is the best I've tried in Philly so far and the garlic knots are great too! They have opened indoor seating back up so that is an option, but I like to walk across the street and sit outside to eat. The employees are nice and the food comes out hot and fast. I'm one of those impatient people who refuses to wait for pizza to cool down, but an NYPD Pizza slice right out of the oven is so worth burning my mouth a little bit

Yelp told me to share a review as if the three slices didn't and doesn't tell the whole story. They don't have smellavision. Go in, order your pizza and it will take you back to your childhood flying kites along the belt parkway near the Verrazano Narrows bridge. The only thing missing is the Italian ices and Dominic pinching my cheek a little too hard at Pisa in Mill Basin. There's your review. End of story.

This is quick spot for pizza slices if you have a craving for pizza in the area. It's not the greatest in the city and not the worst. You can order whole pies as well. Their customer service is always good.

Chicago style pepperoni pizza. Expect to go to cheesey heaven!

Best pizza ever From a large pepperoni to the Chicago style pizza, these are my favorite pies. Quick delivery and good service, what more do you need?

Excellent pizza! I tried a sicilian and a regular slice, both met my NYC standards. I was very happy. I had mine with green pepper, onions of course, anchovy. After they were heated in the pizza oven (not the silly conveyor belt gizmo used by fake pizza joints), the slices were perfectly crisp just like in NYC. Staff was friendly, seating area was comfortable with a fan blowing and TV on. Walls adorned by NY an Philadelphia items. I highly recommend this place.

Pretty good pizza. Went there with some friends for a late dinner after drinks. It didn't take very long -- only about 15-20 minutes. The staff was very friendly, and they have a variety of pizza options. You can probably tell from the pics but we got the Margherita pizza and grilled barbecue chicken. The pizza isn't super greasy -- it's just the right amount. I will say that they went light on the sauce though, especially on the barbecue pizza but it was still really good. Be aware: the pizzas here are HUGE! Don't expect to cuddle up with a friend and watch a movie with one of these because half of it will still be there (especially if you get a big one)! And that being said, if you're going for a medium pizza, the large is only a dollar more a lot of the time. Go for it. Such a good value!

Really solid pepperoni slice, probably as close to a NY slice I've gotten in Philly. Crust was crispy but not overcooked.

Our server apologized for a delay in taking our drink orders. She was attentive the rest of our meal. I ordered a Charles deGaulle whiskey cocktail. Lemon, aperol and simple syrup added a refreshing twist. For entrees, my wife ordered the pacherri; a simple pork ragu with tender broccoli rabe, Parmesan, stracciatello and basil. The dish was delicious. I enjoyed my plate of sea-inspired tonnarelli nero. Bay scallops in crab ragu with fennel sofrito. Served with squid ink pasta that imparted a slight brininess. The pasta was cooked pangrattato style-- coated in panko bread crumbs and garlic. The dish had many flavors but they all came back to the theme. Cocktail prices and entree prices were very reasonable. They offer happy hour drinks and specials. Certainly a very good choice if you're in the area.

The short rib over polenta was probably my favorite thing on the table - it fell apart easily and the polenta underneath wasn't as heavy as I expected it to be. We got the salted caramel budino for dessert too, and I was glad it wasn't one of those desserts that's so sweet you can only handle two bites. Would go back honestly. Probably order something different next time just to try more of the menu, but I'm getting that ricotta again no matter what.

While I might choose another place for takeout, when the goal is a night of pizza, wine, great atmosphere, and authentic neighborhood vibes, this is usually where we end up. The space is bright, industrial, airy, and thoughtfully designed but unforced. White walls, warm wood, considered lighting, and a floor plan with real breathing room. The vibe recalls Bucktown, Wicker Park, Williamsburg, and Greenpoint: design-forward but genuinely local. There's a great bar, and booths near the kitchen with glass windows that let you watch the staff. Our three-year-old was mesmerized, and the staff was warm and playful, smiling and waving while they cooked. A small detail, but memorable. The crowd feels local. Good music, friendly people, hip but never pretentious. It's just a fun place to be with great service, too. The food is outstanding. We usually order the chicories caesar with grana padano and breadcrumbs, and the lettuce salad with shaved vegetables and creamy oregano dressing. For pizza, we love the arrabbiata (the Angry pie) and tomato pie with sausage and pickled chilies. My wife enjoys the ice cream. A note on bringing kids: I don't think this is a family restaurant, but if your kids are curious and well-behaved, it's absolutely worth bringing them earlier in the evening. We've gone around 4:30 or 5:00 on weekends and always felt comfortable. One time, our daughter had a full meltdown, and we were mortified, but the staff couldn't have been cooler. They packed everything to go, kindly and without any judgment. That kind of grace is hard to fake, and it genuinely stuck with us. Pricing is fair for the quality of the food and the experience. Places like this can seem overrated or overpriced, but this one doesn't. It offers real value for a memorable night out. The whole restaurant feels like a microcosm of Philadelphia's progressive, creative side. There's real ambition behind it, but it still feels human and grounded, nothing sterile, nothing corporate, nothing over-engineered. Just smart people building a cool neighborhood place that others actually want to spend time in. Oh, and make a reservation. Great spot, Joe. We'll be back soon. Thank you!

The hostess took our coats (a nice touch!) and then a rotation of two servers explained the specials and we ordered. I love that the menu is on the shorter side and they rotate the pizza offerings, so even if you're visiting on a regular basis, you'll always be able to try something new. Additionally, when a menu is only about 2 pages, you know everything on those two pages is top notch, as was the case at Pizzeria Beddia. This evening we got the meatballs (didn't take a photo, was too excited, but they were HUGE and excellent) and the beef, pork and veal balls with a rich red sauce was outstanding. Came in an order of 2 but one was plenty for each of us. The Pizza we got had potatoes on it, and we added sausage per the servers recommendation, and it was cooked perfectly and all of the flavors blended so well together. We are so lucky to have an amazing (and nationally recognized!) pizza spot in the neighborhood and it's always nice when you can walk in without a reservation from time to time.

EXCELLENT LATE-NIGHT STOP! MUST TRY!…read more We walked in about an hour before closing on a Thursday night--never an ideal entrance. You know the look. The polite smile that says "it's fine" while the eyes say "it is absolutely not." Totally understandable. No one loves a near-close order. I even acknowledged it out loud--apologized, explained we weren't from the area, and that we were just trying to grab a quick bite because it was one of the few places still open. She said it was okay. Her face said otherwise. Fair enough. Here's where it turned around. The pizza came out hot, fresh, and legitimately impressive. Not "good for late night" good--just plain good. Every bite was fresh, the ingredients tasted clean, and the pizza clearly hadn't been rushed or phoned in despite the timing. Hunger probably helped, but even factoring that out, this was a standout. Honestly, I was kicking myself for not ordering an extra one to go before leaving the city. That's how good it was. We did try to get drinks, but were told the soda machine was down. The nozzles were off, so I'm guessing it was a cleaning/end-of-night thing. I won't ding them for it--though let's be real, tossing nozzles in sanitizer isn't exactly a marathon. Still, not a deal-breaker. Restaurant was clean, but of course, they were near closing. I tipped her a few bucks for staying late, and left genuinely satisfied. Bottom line: the food carried this experience completely. If you're visiting Philadelphia and need a reliable, fresh, late-night bite, &Pizza is absolutely worth the stop. Sometimes the places you expect the least end up delivering the most. I plan to 100000% return (and it'll probably be near closing time again, too)

I was immediately seated upon arriving to Pizzeria Vetri. I was asked if I wanted to sit at the bar, at a table, or at the pizza counter. I chose the pizza counter so that I could watch staff making pizzas. As I was there on my own, the serving staff continued to stop by and check on me. The menu includes neopolitan pizzas (12" feeding 1-2 people) and metro pizzas (28" feeding 3-4 people). They make pizzas, calzones, antipasti, and salads.
