A trip to Navarre, without stopping by Tommy's, would be incomplete. This is a must every time we come to Navarre! We usually stop by several times while in town. They have so many flavors that your head will spin. Not stressful for me because I tend to always stick with my favs of Grasshopper (spearmint and cream) and Popeye, when I visit sno ball places. I grew up in Louisiana and Popeye is a staple flavor there. I was surprised that Tommy's doesn't offer that flavor. The best way I can describe it is a minty bubblegum. Tommy's, please get this flavor on your menu. The girls there were happy to try to make it, by mixing the two flavors. It was good, but still not quite it. The spicy boiled peanuts are a bonus. What a cute stand! It's conveniently located by the bridge and it's the perfect ending to a day at the beach. Upon arrival I noticed a very beach picnic table set up that is covered and has lights string lights for an extra oomph of beach ambiance. There are three tiers worth of flavors and boards posted up of all the flavors provided. Being a noobie and a little over whelmed from the variety I ask the man in charge (assuming) to make whatever he wants. He smiled nodded and created a mango... Paradise? Tango? I cannot remember what the last word was to save my life. I ordered the small cup for $2.50 (yay for affordable!!) to share with my two year old. Yum! I've been in Navarre almost a year but just recently discovered this sweet gem. We usually go to The Twist for ice cream (and they're great) but we thought we'd try something a little more refreshing. So I took my kids to Tommy's one day and we ended up going three days in a row! They have SO many interesting flavors--really there must be something for everyone. I also really liked the sense of family--he has (what I assume are) his daughters working with him. Their customer service is great and it looks like he's raising very smart, hard-working young ladies. There's a tip jar labeled "college fund" and you can't help but want to contribute. And I've been meaning to write this review (even before the election results, because of course now I just seem bitter) but I have to say I was quite disappointed by the Trump/Pence sign that was in front of his establishment. Don't get me wrong--I have NO problem with his personal decision to support Mr. Trump. But (as I was with several local establishments) I was bothered that he didn't consider the customers who might feel alienated by Mr. Trump's controversial remarks. I wish Mr. Tommy would've kept business and politics separate. Mr Tommy seems like a really nice man and my opinion of his establishment remains unchanged!
