First time at a Tommy's Tavern and it was recommended! We were on our way to the outlets and made a stop! We went at a perfect time because there was no wait. The place is huge! Many TV screens, outdoor patio, huge bar! Family friendly. Everyday they have fun stuff going on! The menu has so much to choose from, food for everyone! The sushi was very fresh! The wings were huge! Many GF choices! Not marked but they will tell you! They were very good about it too! Prices were good! My burger was a 10oz! I was stuffed but it tasted so good! Back again for a nice late lunch, convenient and on our way home. Another great lunch with a Cali Burger along with a Hickory-BBQ Burger, both with fries. We chose a glass of Liberty School Cab and Lawson's Sip of Sun. THe place was busy as it was President's Day and we were seated in the tent area. Definitely not my favorite place. It was quite noisy (there was a birthday party happening), drafty/cold and the propane truck leaked some gas during a delivery. Overall, not a bad experience, but the tent is not for us! read more

We make it a point to try new things every time we come and I can safely say I can count on them for a great meal. Staff are always kind and attentive. I was visiting family in a nearby hospital and grabbed lunch here. The place is very clean and very friendly service. They have a huge parking lot and giant indoor bar and seating are with nice big comfy booths. The tap selection is extensive. Lots to choose from and I'm told it's always rotating. This place is BUZZING!!!! Expect a wait!! We waited about thirty minutes and were sat at Olivia's table. Excellent service!! The tavern is large but packed so it was loud. Runners bring the food quickly from the kitchen. Olivia kept our beverages filled & answered any questions we had about the menu. There's so many options on the menu, it's very hard to choose. EVERYTHING tasted great!! The Calamari was crispy perfection and the meatballs were splendidly delicious! I'm not sold on kimchi yet, but theirs tasted really good! It was a great compliment to the ribs! The fried thighs on the biscuit with gravy was VERY good! My crispy smashed potatoes were excellent!!!!!! Tommy's Tavern and Tap seem to be popping up everywhere in New Jersey , ie over a dozen here and one I know of in Newark DE. I heard that the owner recently passed. There were five of us and we had a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. Rob, our server was very proficient. Food was good+. I can't say excellent, though mine was....but there were four other people to consider. Drinks were excellent. Average price $45 pp. Plenty of parking, clean restrooms, and the place look pretty neat. read more

I really enjoy the atmosphere at Tommy's. I think this restaurant chain is very consistent per location which is important to me with food! The servers are very friendly. As I go here often, I have had repeat service staff and they are very attentive. Plus, their outdoor seating area is open year round which I enjoy! Picture attached is of the chili nachos with sour cream on the side. Very delicious. I only took a star off as I am a bit picky and wish they had more food options. Sit outside if you can. The vibe is so different than indoors. The bones hanging from the ceiling transform you from the bar lounge that's inside. The firecracker shrimp and tavern sushi were delicious. The chicken nachos were a big fail. I think they took too long to bring them out. They were dry as well as the cheese. I won't order those again. But going back just not for nachos! The spicy pineapple margarita was ok. My guest had expresso margarita n enjoyed it. Good vibes. My husband and I both ordered a steak one night and it was not worth the price we paid. It also came with a house steak sauce of that's any indication. Ever since I've dined at Tommy's in Edgewater, I've been a fan. It's now my favorite casual sports bar. So I was more than excited to try out the location in Freehold. We came as a walk-in around 6pm and were seated immediately. The bar and restaurant areas are spacious with plenty of seating for small and large parties. And there are a million tvs with all of the sports channels your heart could ask for. Our waitress was very attentive and sweet, checking in on us and making sure we were having a good time. I ordered... *Wings (10 pieces) $16 - These were FINGER LICKIN' GOOD. GYAAAT DAMN. I had to stop halfway to make sure I would have room for my entree. The wings were meaty and tender with the right amount of seasoning. The skin was crispy and crunchy. We didn't even need any sauce because there was so much flavor. *Tavern Dip Sandwich with sweet potato fries $22 - You must try this is if you love prime rib! The sandwich included sliced prime rib, coal fire roasted onions, mozzarella, and horseradish cream on garlic ciabatta bread with a side of French onion soup dip. A simple sandwich, but so filling and delicious. *Margarita $12 - A classic cocktail. The drink was strong enough and perfectly balanced. No complaints! Always love going to Tommy's. I frequent there often. It's quick, easy and delicious. The menu is huge. I love that they have the TVs for sports games so my boyfriend can watch while we eat. They are so accommodating to my dietary restrictions. To the point where they even put little toothpicks that say allergy in the food! Really awesome that you can see them cooking all your food so you know exactly where it's coming from. Great vibes, great atmosphere and great food! Caters to misogyny. My mother and I went to eat/drink at the bar. Sat at the end right when you walk in where there is only one TV and they had the YES channel playing with the Yankee game coming up. It wasn't super crowded for a weekday at 6:30 but decided on that spot and ordered drinks/food looking forward to watching the Yanks. Just as the game is supposed to start, the channel changes over to the Devils game which was already playing on the large TVs in the back and multiple TVs along the sides of the bar. I politely ask if we can switch back (I'm wearing a Yankee hat). The bartender tells me the men sitting next to us asked to switch. They chime in "What you got a problem with hockey? You don't like the Devils?". I reply "No, we just picked these seats solely because they had on the Yankee channel." And of course he replies, "well we were here first sweetheart." Now at this point, we are mid meal. It would be quite inconvenient for us to move seats vs. two grown men only drinking coors lite. A few minutes later they close out their tab...they sat there on their phones not watching the game. I ask the bartender if she wouldn't mind switching back, she tells me once they leave and he tells me to "relax". So let's maybe establish some rules around the TV etiquette if you're going to encourage this type of behavior from your patrons. I think the staff should be trained on ways to enforce respect. And maybe just simple math. Our bill of wine/food was exponentially higher than their bill of a few coors lite. Maybe cater/respect those who are spending a bit more, only helps their tip at the end of the day. read more

Back again.... This place only gets better. The seasonal menu has some amazing eats for all the foodies. Remember this is a sports bar and during football season the line is out the door. But the service is great and the ambience is inviting. This time around we got the short rib sandwich with the sweet potato fries. You get a marshmallow and brown sugar dip with this combo. The food at Tommy's is always fresh and very tasty. The beer battered shrimp taco were 3 tacos per serving. There were 3 large shrimps per taco with all the toppings. You can have chips or fries. I had the chips and they were thin and crispy with a bit of salt and pepper. My friend had penne in vodka sauce with grilled chicken. Both plates were enough for another meal and we both took home leftovers. The server was very polite and she made sure that our orders were exactly the way we wanted them. Surprised it took me so long to write this review, I've been coming here for a while like everybody else I know, I'm not sure you could beat the atmosphere, the quality, the food, and the enormous number of giant screen TVs! What's not to like, the beer selection is fantastic! They have sushi here like they do at all locations of Tommy's, very very very good. But honestly, here's the kicker, all the other food is good too! For example, I had the beet salad, out of the universe! Even their chips and guacamole are great!! What I want to say importantly, is that it's not just a sports bar, the food is really a cut above many of the other restaurants in the surrounding area in Freehold. As a matter fact, the salads here are about the best in the town. Their thin crust Margherita pizza really is to die for. Little pricey then I wish, cost about 2/3 or more of the cost at a other restaurant with same quality food but without the atmosphere and televisions. Wish the price was a little less but other than that this is a, great spot! Highly recommended. If you're looking for a sports bar to hang out, I actually can't think of any place better! Recommended to if you're just looking for a good meal. A little pricier than hoped, but certainly a place to try. read more

It feels like a regular tavern albeit a bit more upscale and with some decent additions such a nice brick oven. In overall there are plenty of choices, mostly around sushi-style choices, pizza, burgers and a few other typical choices. I loved the focaccia, it was fresh and packed a nice flavor. The onion rings were good as well. The sushi nachos were a bit lackluster. They had more jalapeño and sauce than sushi filling but tasted great all the same, and the chicken wings were great but the lack of sauces to accompany was a bit disappointing (came with buffalo and ranch). The cocktail menu could use some additions, it felt very bear. Tap choices were decent. Place was packed on a Monday afternoon and the wait time for a table for 2 was 20 minutes. Tommy's is a safe place for completely inoffensive food. Don't come here expecting Michelin star, but don't come here expecting Applebees. Came here last night and was pleased with my food overall. Drinks were flowing too, always a plus. Got a medium pizza (I forgot the name sue me) with vodka sauce, grilled chicken and some other stuff. Pretty good overall. Enough to feed a hungry man like myself, good size. Anyways, we also got some sweet potato fries for the table. And now, I do not like sweet potatos. I am a certified hater. But they were aight. Came with this sweet cinnamon sauce that took me so off guard the first time I tried it that shit was like a jumpscare. Service was good. Came here for girls night out. Tommy's never disappoints! The atmosphere is great - we got asked to be seated outside. Our waitress was super nice and very patient with my friend and I. She was also quick with our drinks and food. We ordered a pitcher of white sangria which was fabulous. For an app - we got calamari. The calamari were tender and cooked to perfection. The sauces were really good too. For entrees my friend ordered a roll, I ordered a the grilled ahi tuna wrap. OH EM GEE was my wrap fantastic and the sweet potato tots and sauce complemented the wrap so well!! Tommy's is an institution and a must try. It's definitely better than the loaded spoon! read more
