My partner and I came here for dinner in early August, and honestly, I'm struggling to remember the meal. Looking at the bread, I recall that I thought it did not taste very good. The bread was rough and I think it was too much bread to meat ratio. I also recall that the price is not cheap at all, so we spent a good amount for just an OK meal. The dining experience was OK; we sat outdoors, and it was nice and lively.

Love their wings. They can be pricey. The waiters can be hit or miss. Had a mushroom burger. Def was not portabella. Wouldn't get again. They don't use fresh mayonnaise only offer packets of mayo

If you are looking for a place that's open past 9pm in Central NJ, this is a good option. While everything around is a ghost town, walking in this pub will certainly pick up your mood. Its warm, comfortable inviting décor, with books on the shelves and many TVs playing various sports games will make you ready for that ever important part of the night - your meal. The drinks were perfect. I believe one of them was called "sweater weather" and it was delicious. But, that's where the disappointment also started to set in. It was served by someone clearly not in the mood to smile or be helpful. Toss it up to exhaustion; everyone has a bad night sometime. But then the food arrived. I wish it didn't. The wings were right from the greaser. Couldn't touch them they were so hot, no to mention lacked any crispiness and drowned in sauce. Calamari were undercooked, lacked any seasoning, just bad. Of course, apple pie can't be bad, right? The best part was the ice cream, which they did not make, of course. The pie was soggy, wet crust, just all bad. It just doesn't make any sense why there is such a disproportion of great ambiance to bad food. Once thing for sure, I WILL be coming back as I believe they had an off night. Hope I'm not wrong.

Visited here for Father's Day. Our party sat outside. It was nice. The bang bang shrimp, calamari & mozzarella sticks were just ok. The soft-shell crab and crab cake sandwich were disappointing. They were so small. I had the skinniest piece of crab cake I've ever been served. I took a photo of the sandwich to show how the crab cake was almost nonexistent in the sandwich. The beer list was amazing -- 31 beers on tap is my kind of place! Dessert was ok. My kids loved the Nutella empanadas. The lava cake was ok & so was the peanut butter pie. The peanut butter pie was really hard to get into. It felt frozen but that didn't stop me from enjoying it. :) I would come back for the beer & to try the burgers. I hear that's what they are known for. Overall I give this place 3 stars for their beer variety and hours. It seems to be the only place around open really late. Almost forgot, our waiter Zach was adorable and so sweet.

Love the name and the old neighborhood pub feel of this place. Food and drinks were good. Our waitress was good but it took us 5-10 minutes to wave down someone to get us a table when we first arrived. Standard American pub fare and comfort food, although it was very greasy and we didn't enjoy it. For the prices they have I thought it would have been a little better quality. Parking: Free parking across street and behind building if you can't get an in street spot or don't want to parallel park Overall, Local pub beloved by locals for its fun atmosphere, televised sports, and good food. Lots of beers on tap, including local brews.

French Onion Soup

We started with French Onion soup which was good not great. At $11 a crock, it should have been great! My wife had the corned beef Rueben sandwich which she liked. I had the Jack Daniel's cheese burger which was also good. We took two orders of CJ wings home with us - one with their buffalo sauce and the other Mango Habanero sauce. Both orders were great with the buffalo sauce slightly better. At $2 a wing, I'm glad the wings were a winner. Service was good and not much ambiance to speak of. CJ shares the same building as Federici's, so brick walls and old furniture is prominent throughout the bar restaurant.

We decided to try a restaurant in freehold when we went there. They were only serving breakfast and it was about noon. We didn't want breakfast so we walked out two doors down the Jester saloon. We were talking about what to do and the young gentleman came out and handed a menu and said look at the menu and see if anything works for you. We decided to go and are we happy we did. There were four of us. We had four different meals. Each one was delicious. The atmosphere was very nice and the service was outstanding. We will definitely return when we're back at freehold.

Tiny side of guac

We sat outside but did have to wait about 15 minutes for a a table...no big deal. Both the food and service were lacking. The nachos came with the wrong protein and a tablespoon of guacamole. The wings were swimming in sauce and which tasted very strong of ket. Our waitress spent most of the time leaning in the doorway. We never got drink refills and had to wave her down to finally get the check. We won't be back.

I did have a bunch of their sauces and salsas. None really stood out except their green sauce, which was used sporadically. Birria Tacos - These were very good. The consommé was flavorful, while the beef was tender. The tortilla was crisp too even with the consommé added. Elote Corn - This was rather plain. There was only a crema and cotija cheese present. It seemed like chili powder was supposed to be added, but I did not taste or see any. The corn could have been cooked a little better too. Guacamole - This was tasty. It appeared fresh and paired well with the chips given. I really liked the texture of it too. Chicken Flautas - These were deep fried tortillas with chicken, sour cream, lettuce, and cotija cheese I believe. These were solid. The chicken could have been seasoned a little more, but the tortillas were crisp and held up. Choriqueso Con Tortillas Tostadas - This was melted jack and Oaxacan cheese topped with Mexican chorizo over toasted nixtamal homemade corn tortillas. The cheese and chorizo was excellent, with lots of flavor. It did not look the best but tasted good. The corn tortilla was either old and stale or just fried way too long as it was very tough to chew. It could have made for a great bite. Will I go back? Debatable.
