I have been to Otto's a bunch of times on business trips to the area. It's has been good every time I've visited until my recent visit. I ordered wings and a salad for take out. The wings were very small and had a bunch of knarly pieces mixed in, and the salad has lettuce that wasn't event washed. I could see dirt on the leaves through out. Needless to say I threw out the $13 garden salad. This is a big problem for me because if you aren't cleaning vegetables what else are you not doing that is necessary for safety. Unfortunately I probably won't be back for another try. I'm leaving 2 stars because the bartenders are always good, I'm just disappointed in the food. read more

I was in the area to have lunch and looked up on Yelp and found Otto's. A great bar with plenty of tv's. I was with my wife, stopped for lunch, Zach was behind the bar, his personality was outstanding. We split the mild Chicken wings by the way they were outstanding. Then we split a Cheese steak. Otto's is a casual local tavern you can stop in and relax, eat lunch/dinner, have a good conversation. My take on this place? It's a nice dive bar that one would go to with your buddies to unwind. You won't come here on your first date. As said, the food is very simple, yet excellent. There are no servers that I could see. Phil, the barkeep, did it all up-front. Try "Otto's Bomb" if you dare. Don't let this review dissuade you from visiting, I would go again. This review is in regards to my specific visit. I ordered the wings. They were breaded and had good flavor, but they were tiny. A lot of the bones were broken. The bartender was the only server in the place. He was working his ass off, but we had to wait for everything, things were forgotten, things were missed. Hopefully just some call ins...but it wasn't a lack of effort. Fun vibe though. Def a place I could see myself having a sandwich and a beer after work. read more

Needed to find a place that was open at 10:00 PM for dinner in this area. Yelp showed Otto's open so we gave it a try. Bartender was friendly and the kitchen stays open til 11:00. Cheeseburgers cooked perfect and rolls were better than most. Homemade potato chips were perfect. We enjoyed a nice cold draft with our burgers. I will not be a returning customer. I ordered a Pinot Grigio and there was a fishy after taste to it. We ordered a pizza that was not edible; burnt, dry and extremely salty. The unfriendly bartender who was also our server at the time was rather rude when I told him how awful the pizza was. No apology, though I know he didn't cook it, but I was a server for years and would have never treated my customers they way he treated us. I used the restroom as soon as I got there and my first thought after seeing the restroom was, let's not eat here, but we decided to stay anyway and give it a try. Bad decision. Let me tell you about their wings...I LOVE good fried chicken! I don't think Otto's knows how good their wings are by fried chicken standards. Get them with sauce on the side, and you will be presented with a plate of fresh, hot, crispy, fried deliciousness that doesn't even need sauce. Typing this is making me want them right now. Stopped here with my boyfriend. It definitely is your typical dive bar but it was pretty good. The guys running the place were nice and we got our food in a good amount of time. The French onion soup was alright and we both got the California cheesesteak and it was really good. He got a side of sweet potato fries and they were one of the best we have had. I got a side of the Caesar salad and it was the worst of what we got to eat. It just tasted weird. Overall it was an easy and fast dinner. Ottos has found a new home right on West Park Ave, if you're smart you'll follow them there. Ottos is a great environment to hang out, eat or have a drink. We started with buffalo dip which reminded me of the homemade stuff you're likely to find on SuperBowl Sunday. 2 orders were a good start for 6 hungry guys. Everything we ate really exceeded my expectations. The service was kind and attentive. There were families on one side of the room, a pretty full bar and a couple of groups of guys eating at tables. I was here for work. Generic sports bar. Actually less than generic...like my wife decorated our basement to look like a sports bar. Service was attentive and the crowd was a little rowdy around happy hour on a Monday. Not bad short of a few F bombs from the locals with some families around. Thumbs up for Golden Tee. The food was awful. I thought the wings were a safe bet but they were of the classic Sysco variety. Certainly not fried, not even baked. This was a microwave job. They were too hot to handle when they arrived and after 5 mins, a soggy, tasteless mess. I did 4 of the 10 and gave up.
