Met my parents here for dinner with my wife and son. It was a weekday night so we got seated right away. The women who was our server was very friendly. I had ordered a Reuben and fries. My wife had ordered the beef sandwich. We debated getting something off the kids menu for my son but he's only two and it was like $12 and we figured it would be worth just giving him some of what we ate and that actually sufficed. If your child's older probably would make sense, but for a little one, juice isn't worth the squeeze.. The food came out pretty quick, and it was really good. I really liked my Ruben. It was a closed face sandwich but they put a fair amount of meat on there which you can't complain about. The inside of the place was clean and what you would expect of a bar. The sit-down sitting area didn't seem too large but but large enough and we were there. We had the section to ourselves. The bar is actually pretty large and has amplementing in it. All in all, not a bad stop. If you're in the area it would be worth checking out. read more

What a great spot, great atmosphere and the food was delicious. First visit, ate at the bar and we received a warm welcome from John the bartender who told us all about their great food offerings, not to mention he makes a mean martini. He told us everything is made fresh and when he said the turkey and roast beef was made in house I had to try their Philly Cheese Steak sandwich which was made with their roast beef. Well, it was fabulous one of the better ones I've tried served with fresh cut fries and a pickle. John also mentioned the Tuna Melt was excellent so my wife gave it a try. Let's just say he didn't steer her wrong, she loved it. Got it with fresh cut sweet potato fries also very delicious. This place will definitely be a go to for us every time we're in the area. read more

My wife and I stopped in twice while staying in Colts neck. Must say this is a great little spot! We truly enjoyed the food and the local patrons! On both visits, I had one of their salads with grilled chicken; my wife ordered a pepperoni pizza and Chicken tenders with tots. Both our meals came out, hot and delicious! Truly enjoyed sitting at the bar and committing with the bartender and the locals! If you're in the area, you can't go wrong here! Enjoy! read more

My fiancé and I stopped by on our way home on a quiet Sunday evening and sat at the high top near the entrance. Service was good but we were only there but for one glass of red wine. There was a TV in the bathroom and literally a TV everywhere you could put one. read more

During my third visit: The strong smell of marijuana turned me off. Along with a pair of young "boys" who came in by themselves, left their table, went into the men's room and started yelling and laughing loud. Be warned: if you're under 40 you'll potentially be denied entry at night under the guise of being underaged (even if your 30... IDs don't matter apparently.) Went a single time with friends and the guy at the door was a total a hole for seemingly no reason and tried to claim our IDs were fake. Not sure if they either didn't want to let my black friend in, or they don't want to let anyone under 40 in, but either way just say the actual reason. Most frustrating experience was being lied to about the reason while they pretended our IDs weren't legitimate. Went to another nearby bar after that which was much nicer. While ranting about the experience to a bartender I also heard a story about how this place would double charge and the owner being weird. Friends went there a week or two prior, got hit on by the owner and offered free drinks, asked to go to his pool or some creepy crap like that, so they might have just denied us after recognizing them. Dunno. Either way, I wasn't even able to step foot in this place. I hear the staff inside at the bar are nice, but after that whole experience I can't recommended enough against this place. Definitely will never be attempting to spend money here. read more

I will give credit to the waitstaff for bringing nice and extremely apologetic. The service time and food were disappointing. It took an hour to get my burger and fries, the burger was too done (burned around the edges). Not a place I would recommend when visiting the area. read more

To follow up initial review. Everything went downhill on next visit. We ordered an appetizer and drinks. Drinks took 15 minutes The server said food would be delayed because kitchen was busy and that any questions to the cooks about how long just got her yelled at At 1 hour and 5 minutes without getting next round of drinks served and no food, we left and will never return. This establishment used to be called Green Meadow back in the day. I remember the first time I was at Green Meadow, and almost had a panic attack - the place felt somewhat haunted. Well I have to say the ghost kind of lives on here..... a little bit drab; service is not the best, slow to get your food - not a good combo. As far as food - mediocre. Pretty good food, okay drinks, friendly conversational staff, and a solid selection of house-made desserts. I will admit that I was surprised that I was served the wrong item and not offered any sort of good will for accepting it anyway, as I had ordered a completely different sandwich which I confirmed beforehand. It was the same price so it wasn't worth bringing up and the incorrect item was cooked well plus I was given the option of switching it out, but still worth mentioning in a review. Where the Colts Neck Pub makes up for this is in the friendliness of its staff and clientele, which are both among the most conversational definitely making this more of a local pub despite my being from a way's away. This place has a rich history from its Green Meadow farmhouse-era days like many other places in the area, and it is clear that the kitchen staff and bar staff are putting in effort to make it a high-quality local pub. The food was good, and they have plenty of liquor and beer selections. It feels slightly small but in a good way that tied the place together, and apparently the previous owners lived in the back apartment area. My experience was quite good overall, and I would go back after visiting a brewery up the road. read more

Like the food and the ambience of the place and the drink and think it's a great idea that if you bring in your golf score card there's an added perk. Unfortunately my friend and I were very disappointed by the fact that when we ordered a shot each of screwball whisky we were charged 12.00 dollars each. Had Dinner last night. Everything was bad. The band was extremely loud and they were screaming the songs. The waiter was rude and seemed annoyed to be serving our small group. Finally, the food was awful. Hamburger was well done but asked for medium. Roast beef sandwich was served on toast with some cheese and condiments thrown together. We all agreed that we will not eat there again. The beer was fine. It's a shame; was hoping for another good option in this town. read more

Came here for bingo on 2/1 with some friends. We split the sampler and I had the bleu burger with bacon. we had so much fun playing bingo and our service was great. the drinks were also enjoyable, I had the cucumber mint mule and a craft beer. the atmosphere is great, despite being a new restaurant people seem to know each other. it's a community bar with a warm feel. we will definitely be back soon! read more

I love this pub! The staff is awesome and they have live entertainment Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Food was not great. Burgers were well overdone even though I ordered med rare. Waitress did not care when we showed cut burger- Prices were high for what you got. Service was adequate but not great.
