Best service EVER! My husband and I saw Tommy's Tunes do a great job at a few of our other friends weddings. We loved their work but originally hired an MC that could speak Cantonese and English for some of my relatives. However, our previous MC cancelled on us One Month before the wedding. We were pissed. Luckily, we remembered Tommy Tunes and they were great enough to fill in with such short notices. We had MC Joe and he did a great job of introducing everyone. Luckily most of our family and friends were dancers. The DJ had them on the floor all night. He played a great mix and Joe barely had to say anything else the rest of the night. Couldn't have been happier with their service. We also got the open air photo booth with them. It was a great choice because we were able to fit A LOT of people in each shot. read more

About a year prior to our wedding we were at the wedding of one of our friends and were very impressed with DJ. Based on our experience at their wedding we decided to schedule a meeting at their Syosset office. We had the pleasure of meeting with Steven. He mentioned that Dominick was available on our wedding date. We then moved forward with the initial planning and contract. Another reason we chose them was that they were a preferred vendor of the Fox Hollow. From the Bridal party introductions to the last dance, Dominick kept everyone engaged and dancing. We just got married last Saturday at the Cottage at East Wind and I cannot express how amazing our DJ, Dominic was! He kept our guests partying and dancing the whole wedding! I was so surprised, even our notorious non-dancers were out there on the dance floor having a blast! Dominic was so sweet and friendly and really connected with us and our guests. He was really able to read the crowd and keep the perfect mix of music going for us! When it comes to music, my husband and I tend to be pretty picky, but Dominic delivered! We used to Tommy's Tunes for my daughter's Sweet 16. They provided us with DJ service, photo booth, photography, and videography. They could not have done a better job. They were personable and professional and made us feel like rockstars. One of the benefits of using Tommy's Tunes for multiple services was that they worked together effortlessly. We made a last minute addition days before the party and Tommy was able to come through for us and ensure that we got exactly what we requested. Tommy's Tunes DJ'd my husband's 50th birthday party, and did a wonderful job ! Everyone had a great time. At our meeting with the owner, we went over who our guests would be, the tone of the party and layout of the venue to make sure we were on the same page with the music and MC duties. The music was spot on - in the background during cocktails and dinner, and a great mix to get people dancing afterward (but not so overbearing that those who chose to sit and chat couldn't hear each other). We opted to show a photo montage set to music, and it was a real highlight of the night! Photographer John put it together according to our specifications, then at the party took pictures of our guests having a ball and displayed those on flat screens throughout the night. A perfect combination of posed and candid shots ensured all guests were photographed. Our family has used Tommy's Tunes for innumerable events: many birthday parties ranging from a "sweet 16" to an 80th; corporate events; backyard tent parties and more. I went to the East Wind yesterday and I happened to bump into the owner and MC from my wedding night that was almost 2 years ago. My wedding was 10-2-2016 and it was the best night ever!!! Great memories flooded back for me, thanks to Tommy tunes!!! So here is a review that i had saved in my email. Just re-posting for those future brides who need the information. I worked with the owner Tommy and he was very attentive and courteous. He explained everything and when I had questions he always set the time out to meet me when needed. PJ is a great MC!! He really gets the crowd going and kept the music flowing for the entire night. My guest are still raving about how awesome he is. PJ partied right along with guests on the dance floor and got everyone involved. He jokingly told my nephew that he looked like Justin Beiber during the night and that compliment gave him so much confidence we couldn't even get him off the floor when it was time to go. I booked Tommy Tunes for my wedding on August 26, 2018. My wedding was at Chateaubriand and they are listed as a preferred vendor so I read reviews on them and they had so many amazing reviews so I booked a consultation. My husband and I met with Tommy at the Selden office - he was really nice and spent quite a bit of time with us so we felt extremely comfortable picking them for our special day. We booked them on the spot. We explained the type of wedding we were going for and he assured us we were in great hands with his company. We also booked the new mirror photobooth. We got all our paperwork and couldn't wait for the big day. I met with Steven the week of the wedding and went over everything and all seemed well .. There was one change made 2 days before the big day - one if my girls dropped out of my bridal party so i replaced her with someone else so really all it was was a name change -i was freaking out but they assured me everything would be fine. When I met with Steven he told me my MC was Rasheed which I was happy with because I read great reviews about him. The day of my wedding my maid of honor gave my MC and DJ 2 copies of the name change 2 hours before the wedding and I previously informed them of the change before the day arrived. I ended up with Joe C.as my MC and John as my DJ. Well I could not be more upset than I am now. Joe introduced himself to me before the reception and he seemed very dry - no personality. Then it comes time for my entrances and we gave every couple a different song to come into which Steven told me was absolutely fine. They messed up all my entrance music that I started to cry before mine and my husbands entrance and had to calm down so everyone was waiting for us to walk in after we had been announced. They even messed up our entrance song. As if this was bad enough they didn't play any of the music we asked for - What is the point of filling out all that paperwork if they dont even follow it?? I know that we had a Sunday afternoon wedding but we had a very young party type of crowd - it didn't matter if it was a tuesday afternoon everyone was ready to dance and party - my bartender did an amazing job of getting the guests nice and drunk - he did a better job of getting my guests involved than the MC. The dance floor was empty numerous times and the MC did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to get my guests out of their seats and on the dance floor .. he never even got on the mic besides to announce our dances. I had to go over to him 3 times and ask him to announce the Photo Booth because no one even knew we had one for a good 45 minutes of the party. I also went over to him about 5 times telling him they were not playing any of the music we were looking for and agreed on - They played nothing from any of the sheets we filled out. Every time I approached him to tell him we were not happy with the music selection and its not what we were looking for and to change the music his response was you have to wait because we have to play slow music right now but its my wedding - the music I asked to be played should have been played! Most of my guests commented on how terrible and not our style the music was and that the MC did not even get on the mic to engage the crowd. I left my wedding feeling so upset and disappointed because of my DJ and MC. Everything else was perfect but to me one of the most important parts of a wedding is the music. Tommy Tunes totally failed. I wish I could go back and change my DJ. Its so upsetting. I was so excited and kept hearing that we were in such great hands with Tommy Tunes but they did not deliver. I did call Tommy the next day and tell him how I felt and the comments I received fro my guests and he did apologize but gave me every excuse in the book "it was a sunday afternoon" "you had my best MC and DJ" blah blah blah - if that was his best I really don't want to see his worst team at work. I was at a sunday afternoon wedding 2 weeks before mine and it was amazing - the music was great and we had a great time (Different less expensive DJ)- NOT something i experienced for my wedding and I raved to all my guests ahead of time that our DJ was gonna be amazing and we were gonna have such a great time and I was so embarrassed. They always say "you get what you pay for" but thats not always true because in this case we did not go cheap - we picked the best most expensive package and were totally let down. read more

I would book him again. However, the DJ could have been better. He didn't play half the music I requested. I felt like he had a setlist and placed play then disappeared. I had chosen to have Tommy's Tunes play at my wedding reception because I was under the misconception that they were actually a good company. I should've known better because even before the wedding day when I was dealing with some of the employees who were very unprofessional and rude where I had to call the owner multiple times but I just decided that it must've just been that one employee and decided to go ahead with them. I gave them my playlist with the specific songs or the genre songs that I would like to be played throughout the night for my small wedding party of a total of 80 people with the majority people between the ages of 40 and 80 years old so averaging mostly around 50-60 year-old Italian men/women. Due to the photographer having to take more pictures my husband and I were in and out of the room but every time that I was in the room (also told by my family/friends that were in the room the entire night) that the music was like they were at a sweet 16, so lots of hip hop music, and not at a wedding) I'm not sure what happened, the DJ started the night with 2 70s songs and my parents, aunts and uncles got up to dance, those were the last 70's songs. I told them before and during the wedding to go with what the crowd is responding to (obviously that was 70's music and not hip-hop), but for whatever reason the DJ played what he liked I guess, because I had to ask several times for them to play the types of music I requested including Latin and freestyle (even though they were on the list of music I gave them before the wedding). I'd like to give all brides the advice of don't skimp on the price for music (it really sets the tone for the night: unfortunately the music from Tommy's tunes made mine appear like a cheap wedding-which it wasn't). But don't go with this company because they were not cheap (2-4x the price of the other DJs in the area). There are a lot of other issues I had with this company I'm just tired of typing so do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for your music needs. read more

They played EVERY song on our playlist (most DJ's usually forget 1 or 2 of them), EVERYONE was dancing and having an amazing time. The sinatra singer that they have, Gene, is amazing as well. I am a raving fan of Tommy's Tunes. They made our wedding the most incredible night of our lives. These guys know what they are doing. My wife and I had a mix of ages attend our wedding; from my 5 year old cousin to my 91yr old grandma and they played music for everyone. Our MC was Joe, who knew exactly what song to play and when to play it. He had more passion and enthusiasm for his job than anyone I have ever met. From the moment we met him in his office to the moment the night ended, his energy remained the same. He was an absolute pleasure to work with and the night would have been totally different without him. One word...Amazing!!! From the first time we met with Tommy we knew we chose the right company!! They had our guests on the dance floor from beginning to end! We are so happy with our zap photos and the montage. The photos were ready just days after the wedding and they look like professional pictures! They truly show what a great time our guests had. I would recommend getting the zap photos to everyone. They put them on a disc and a nice case with your picture on it. Plus the guests enjoyed seeing their pictures on the screens throughout the day. We had a special request to do something for my husbands mother who passed away a few months before the wedding and Frank our MC got our vision and made it go exactly how we wanted. Frank was so awesome. Everyone had such wonderful things to say about him. He kept the party going!! The DJ played many of our song requests and played an excellent variety of music to meet everyone's music interests. We even personalized our garter toss to the Islanders goal song and they played the cd we gave them it was awesome! My husband and I chose Tommy's Tunes as it was one our venue's preferred venues and because they were well rated. We worked with Steven, who was friendly and easy to work with. We researched on multiple websites to find the top rated DJs at Tommy's Tunes and then submitted our request for Dominick as our DJ. Luckily, we were assigned Dominick for our wedding. He did a fantastic job. He was able to properly read the crowd and knew what types of songs would get people up and dancing. I provided him a long list of songs, but I told him that I trusted him to choose whichever songs he felt were appropriate. The majority of our guests danced and they danced up until the end of the night! Even the older guests got up and danced! We also had a jazz guitarist for the happy hour. Unfortunately, we weren't able to attend the happy hour due to photos but heard from many that the jazz guitarist was great. Also, we had a photographer go around and take "zap photos", which were then displayed on two screens. The zap photos and screens were a nice touch. We would highly recommend Tommy's Tunes and especially DJ Dominick. read more

Disappointing customer service......I hired Tommy's Tunes for a surprise party for my husband's 60th birthday. The DJ was excellent but we ran into problems with the photo booth rental. First the photo booth attendant did nothing but look at his cell phone all day. I would have said something but to be honest with you I had no idea who he was or that he has was supposed to be helping guests figure out how to use the booth. When I rented the booth I was told that I would have all photos sent to me on a disk about one week after the party. I emailed to find out where the disk was - no response. I called and Tommy told me he would call me back later that day - no response. I called and spoke to Chris the next day who said he'd look into and call me back. Later that day Tommy finally called to tell me the bad news that the flash drive from the booth that day had no photos on it. He told me he had this problem before and gave the other person a $150 refund which really isn't much. I tried to be fair and ask for half back even though I feel that I should get the whole thing. After going back and forth he told me $150 again - I ended the conversation with I don't think it's right but look into your heart and send what you feel is right. Well I guess that meant NOTHING. No refund sent. I called the office to inquire about it and was told I would get a return phone call but nothing. It's a shame that things turned out this way. I would say if you're going to book them just use the DJ service and bypass the photo booth. You might not get what you paid for. read more

I wish I could give a higher rating because this company was amazing. My husband and I booked them for our wedding after many recommendations from family and friends. My brother used them for his wedding this past October and it was not such a great experience. I called and spoke to Tommy and expressed my concerns about what had happened and asked to meet my MC prior to the wedding. He said it was not a problem and we met Joey within the next day or so. He made us feel completely at ease and assured us that he would be there for us from start to finish. Words cannot express how amazing he was. He stayed on the dance floor the whole time and kept the party moving without a hiccup the whole day. Dominic our DJ was great as well. The music never stopped and the transitions were seamless. We were so happy with how everything was handled the entire time. I would definitely recommend Tommy's Tunes to anyone looking for a great company to work with. read more

I'm so disappointed to have to give a 1-star review. My husband and I saw them at an expo, and thought they would be great for our wedding. Working with them was a pleasure, and we had full confidence they would deliver. Sadly, they delivered nothing but disappointment after disappointment. Due to an in-office scheduling error, (that went overlooked by even the owner), the DJ never made it to our ceremony. Then, they misplaced the disc for our first-dance song (and I received 3 different stories as to where that disc actually was). Then, despite having an itinerary, the MC skipped right over the blessing before the meal. We had to remind the DJ to turn on our slide-show, and then remind him again to keep it playing. Lastly, there were swear words in the songs they played. I met with the owner after the wedding to discuss these major errors. Though he seemed sincere in his apology, the employer who made the scheduling error and with whom we had worked to put the services together never offered a personal apology. Moreover, I have yet to receive the promised compensation. It has been at least four weeks since the meeting and the owner is slow to respond to follow-up emails; some emails have gone unanswered completely. I wish I could write a glowing review as I really thought they would be perfect. It was and is still a total nightmare. read more

My husband and I were just married the beginning of December and used Tommy's Tunes for our entertainment. The wedding was absolutely amazing and the DJ and MC kept everyone dancing and having fun the whole night. It was quite the party. We were impressed with one particular person in the office who helped us and really listened to what we wanted for our wedding. The reason why I did not give five stars is this; We met with Tommy's Tunes in November right after Sandy to finalize our song selections. We were hoping to sit down and discuss ideas and have a genuine conversation about our needs. Unfortunately, the person we spoke to at that point was rushing us out of the office and didn't offer help to pick out songs. We were left with a bad taste in our mouth so we called and made another appointment for the following week. We met with a very helpful staff member whose name I can't remember. He went through everything with us and we re-did all of our paperwork with our new songs and everything spelled out for the DJ and MC. We were very confident after this meeting and when we got to the wedding, everything was going well. After the ceremony, the MC pulled us to the side and said he didn't have our entrance music (one of the things we hadn't decided on at the first meeting), nor did he have any of the new paperwork we filled out. Luckily, my husband had downloaded the songs we needed on his iPhone so we were able to get them and play them. From there, everything else went smoothly and everyone was happy. Yet as great as they ended up being, I was somewhat dissatisfied. I would recommend them because they did a great job despite not having the paperwork, but I would suggest that if you use them, make sure you're clear and confirm everything with them before the event. But like I said, we had an amazing time and a great party because of them. read more
