The service was alright the day I bought it , but when I opened the Pokemon packs all the cards had whitening in the same locations, when I called them on the phone a worker said that they could've been refunded if I brought the damaged items and receipt I could get a refund, and when I got to the store, they said that they couldn't refund me . The packs were marked %200 above msrp. Don't buy prismatic booster bundles here because if one of them had damage most probably the others do as well

Old school toy store. Tom's toys is good for last minute gifts for toddlers and small children (complimentary gift wrapping) or to browse around. BASIC toys - nothing Tech/Electronic Wise (No Playstation, Nintendo, etc). Kinda outdated, but that's the charm of this toy store. The best things here in my opinion are BOARD GAMES, PUZZLES, individual toy animal and toy car pieces... maybe some random stuffed animals. Kinda overpriced compared to big box stores. If you live in the area, have kids or are a kid at heart, you probably been here.

Puzzles are priced affordably. Bottom puzzle was only $14.99 and the Pixar puzzle was $24.99.

This review is written by a millennial with no kids. This toy store is awesome and nostalgic for 90's kids. There's classic toys like etch & sketch and slinkies, and they have adult Lego sets of Star Wars etc. There is a whole aisle of puzzles and board games. Lots of plushies of exotic animals and model cars. I could have spent another hour in there but my husband looked bored. There are no electronic games so this is not a GameStop kind of store. I came in to look at the puzzles fully expecting a price markup but they are surprisingly affordable and around Amazon prices. I bought a 1000 piece puzzle for $14.99. Overall this is a great store especially to buy a fake snake to scare your husband on April Fools day.

One of the last remaining true toy stores in existence. I am a huge LEGO fan, so I love coming here to see if any new releases before embargo dates are on the shelf.. or if recently retired sets may be still available. The prices reflect market value for the sets... but I've also seen them inflated a bit. But I dont blame them when you're battling the large box stores. Come support this small business. They have every kind of toy imaginable.

Do you sell Yo-Yos or anything connected with Yo-Yos? If not can you direct me to where I might find a store that does. Thanks

Yes, we carry a variety of Yo-Yos. Anne Frankel, owner of Tom's Toys

Was Tom’s Toys ever called Uncle Tom’s Toys?

Many years ago it was called Uncle Tom's Toys by the original owner Tom Williams. My late husband Ted Frankel bought the Montrose and San Luis Obispo locations about 36 yrs ago. The Beverly Hills location was opened several years after that. All… Read more

Hi, do you sell trading cards (i.e. Pokémon, etc.)? Thanks!

Yes we sell the Pokemon cards. Currently in 2025, they have become a hot item and it's become a challenge to keep them in stock.

Hi, Are you guys open now (as of 7/28/20)? Your hours say that you are but you still have the construction message on this page. Can you please confirm if you're open or not? Thanks!

Hi Amy— unfortunately not yet! This construction project is taking much longer than anticipated and I have to move the temporary closure date to a later date. We’re not quite sure when we will be open again, but we’re hopeful it will be before the… Read more

We didn't know the family or child well, only that he was turning four and has an older brother. I purposely wanted to shop local and support an independent business, and a quick search on Yelp led me here. We arrived about an hour before closing on Saturday, which was great because parking meters end at 4pm and we found parking out front easily. We were greeted by an employee behind the desk as we walked in. She asked if there was anything she could help us find, and I let her know we were first time customers looking for a birthday gift with the details mentioned above. She let us know the layout of the store, her suggestions, but let us look freely. Over time more customers arrived with small children, and received the same courteous service. The store is clean and curated. I appreciated seeing well made toys and items inspiring imaginative play, rather than cheap plastic with distracting lights or sounds. I eventually chose a doctor play set as well as some items for my own children, such as animal figures and stamp markers. They offer free gift wrapping, which is a nice touch. The one alarming fact that stood out is that there were many empty storefronts on their block, so it's more important than ever to support our local economy. Their prices reflect investment in well made items, so I would not come here expecting big box store deals. In a world full of Target and Amazon, I would rather spend my money supporting a local, independent business. We had a great experience here and will definitely be back with our kids this holiday season.

So far, we've picked up a vintage Disney Trivia for mom, a Little People Batman play set, numerous little cars, and Rex from Toy Story.
