But the door to the building was locked -- you have to go up the stairs in the back, there isn't another way in to the spa suites. I was standing out in the rain for a minute waiting for someone to let me in. Thankfully, one of the girls in one of the suites had just arrived and unlocked the door. What was interesting is that she was the first one there. Like she had to disarm the alarm and turn on all the lights in the waiting area. For a 10am wax appointment, I found this odd. Doesn't your wax have to heat up? I was trying to give Tonayia the benefit of the doubt....Lord knows emergencies happen. I waited nearly 20 minutes and tried calling Tonayia's 972 # that's on her confirmation email. It's the same # that's listed in her Yelp posting, too. What was weird was that the phone didn't ring. I just got a message stating that this number wasn't accepting phone calls. No way to leave a message. So I emailed her by responding to her confirmation to tell her I was leaving. At this point, I had been waiting over 20 minutes with zero communication. Again, I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt. I have a small business and I know things happen. But 2 1/2 days later, still no response to my email. There's nothing worse than when someone wastes your time. If she does go into business again, I'd highly suggest calling before you head to your appointment to make sure that she's really in the office. Fortunately, Peace Love Wax in Plano (who has a no tipping policy) was able to get me in the same day. I'd suggest going there instead.

So I booked my first appointment with Maggie and walked in to the appointment slightly nervous. I've had a bunch of Brazilian waxes over the last couple years but for some reason still was feeling nervous! The first impression of the place was a smallish hole in the wall place but it opened up to a much larger set of rooms with many waxers. The front desk girl greeted me and I was seen quickly by Maggie. Maggie is an absolute gem! Very very nice and welcoming lady who truly seems to enjoy her work. She chatted with me and got to know more about my life which made me feel a lot better about getting waxed again. It had been awhile. I let her know and she was patient with me through the whole process. Now be forewarned! Maggie's technique was different than the other esthetician I went to before. But her technique is was makes the hair stay away for even longer! So just trust that she knows what she's doing. She treats her clients like family and works really hard at this skill. So definitely go and check her out!

Not a discredit to the estheticians or the establishment but like any operating business there are routine things that need to be maintained, one being the electricity. Unfortunately there was an issue with the spa's Exit sign which required some technical work during my service causing the lights to go off delaying my appointment time. Sheetal (the spa owner) and Sandra were highly cognizant that I needed to get going by a certain time. They so graciously threw in a complimentary Paraffin treatment and wonderful foot massage to make up for the inconvenience and even with the extra service on top of the already amazing package I had purchased I was still out the door at the time I needed to be.
