    Pad Thai Prix Fixe Lunch

Wow. I tried Tong-D for the first time since moving to Barrington last year and I wish I wouldn't have waited so long! I met a friend for lunch and ordered from their lunch menu and it was perfection. The presentation of the starters, which you get to select from was amazing and the coconut soup was some of the best I've ever had. The lunch menu is quite large with diverse options and was so filling I didn't even eat dinner. The Pad Thai was my favorite I've ordered since I've moved to the East Coast. The ambience of the restaurant is so pleasant and the server was incredibly sweet to allow my friend and I plenty of time to enjoy a long meal with no rush. I couldn't recommend it any higher and can't wait to go back!

Did dinner outdoors with the family and dogs at Tong D Thai, Barrington, RI For dietary restrictions they've got gluten-free and vegan menus too and ginormous inexpensive mocktails which the kid loved. I had the mango shrimp and chicken curry spicy with coconut rice and a lychee mojito. Super friendly attentive staff, large portions and everyone loved their food. Plenty of take home. Private parking lot.

Cute restaurant with plenty of parking. Service was slow. The food was fresh and tasty, however the chicken was overcooked and rubbery, making the lo-mein a disappointment. My parents, who are in their 80s, found the menu challenging to figure out how to order. I will return as it was the best tofu I have ever had, my parents are a hard pass.

An awesome blend of upscale atmosphere, great Thai food (some of the best papaya salad ever!) rolls, etc, and an awesome European dessert menu. This place is a gem.

We had a wonderful experience! The decor is beautiful and was decorated for the holiday which was cute. We got the lunch special and it was lots of food, and it was all great! We shared a pot of rose white tea and it was perfect, also a great deal! The staff is super friendly and attentive. Thank you!!

KHAO SOI with crispy chicken. Divine!

Not sure how it's possible that we've lived in the area for nearly 15 years but had never eaten here. It was truly an incredible dining experience all around. Everything from the fresh flowers, divine food, craft cocktails, professional yet personable service, creative menu and artistic plating exceeded all expectations. We can't wait to go back to try their Afternoon tea! There are plenty of vegan and gluten free options, creative mocktails and an extensive menu. They even grow their own herbs and edible flowers in a little garden out front. Lastly, they were extremely kind people. A hidden gem in the heart of Barrington.

However, their online menu looked like they served things we would like to eat. We finally ordered it to be delivered. I got the chicken Panang curry and my husband got the chicken teriyaki. They were both delicious! The vegetables were cooked perfectly. The chicken was lean, nice pieces of white meat. The sauces were flavorful and not overly spicy (although you clearly have the option of getting it very very spicy if you'd like). There are several other things on their menu that I would like to try and we will definitely be ordering again. I did see some comments on the serving sizes. While they are smaller than some other places, they are still more than a normal person can eat in one sitting. It's like a meal-prep box plus a cup of rice. I'm quite full and have enough left over for lunch tomorrow.

My fellow diners got yellow curry with chicken, fried pineapple rice, and red curry with crispy chicken and veggie pad Thai. I tried them all and they were all tasty. My duck was perfect. Not greasy, not over cooked, not soggy. I very rarely risk getting the duck outside of Golden Dragon at FW, but here is me being all crazy and out of the box! I'm glad I did. It was very very good. The veggies with it were so fresh and not over steamed (I like them with some crunch!! not soggy fyi) Side note: This is a BYOB place and lucky for us a very nice wine store in literally, NEXT DOOR. 10 feet away. I picked up a bottle of white wine to have with dinner. I will be back most definitely. CHEERS!

This dish tasted exactly how I remembered it in some of my favorite Bangkok restaurants that I've been to over the years. I've been to SE Asia many times over the years and will keep going back because of the WOW factor. So, details... the noodles are cooked perfectly. It's soft, but still has a slight crunch to it. The tamarind flavor is bold, but not overpowering. The peanuts, sprouts, chives and all the other ingredients were in the perfect proportion. The shrimp is fresh, crispy externally and tender when you bite down on it. This is by far the best Shrimp Pad Thai that I've had in Rhode Island. If anyone has another suggestion, then please let me hear it! The Thai Iced coffee was also BOMB! A nice caffeine jolt, creamy and not overwhelmingly sweet. The ambiance is that of a casual restaurant, the staff are awesome - knowledgeable, quick and kind. This cozy restaurant really delivers some authentic Thai magic. Chicken Satay - Best chicken satay I've had ever. The chicken appears to be marinated because there's flavor throughout the entire piece of meat. Appetizer comes with 4x large pieces. Nothing small about them and the accompanying peanut sauce and pickled vegetables are on point. Meat is "moist" and "tender". Yes... those quotes were necessary. Thai Iced Tea - The drink is a regular order for me at a lot of Thai restaurants. To my surprise, I really enjoyed this one the most because it was not atypically as overly sweet as other restaurants I've been too. Green Curry with Seafood - All ingredients in this dish were on point and fresh. Nothing tasted frozen or out of a can. Seafood was not over cooked and everything tasted clean. Flavors and quantity were all present. The curry had spice and did not disappoint. Kra Pow with Minced Chicken - Again, all the added veggies were fresh and not overly cooked. Vegetables really spoke for themselves. Flavor in the kra pow were solid and had a reasonable level of heat/spice, but not overwhelming. Again, very good portions. Overall, this place was amazing. I was a bit thrown off when they didn't ask how spicy our party wanted our food as with most other Thai restaurants we've been to, but they hit it out of the park. In my honest opinion, it's not the typical American levels of spice, so be forewarned. The level is probably a bit more on the mild side of Thai level heat. Service is very friendly here and prompt. I have to say whoever the cook, grandma, or magic elf they have hidden away in the kitchen... don't ever let them go.

We were told sit where we pleased which was a bit of a challenge with the setting sun on it's way down for the day, but that was soon resolved. Our drink orders were taken pretty quickly and came out pretty fast too. It took us a few minutes to figure out what we wanted because there was such a variety of food to select from. My husband ordered the Boston and Super California rolls, my mother had the Sweet and Sour Chicken, and I had my usual avocado rolls with the A.A.C. roll and some Mushroom Soup. It took a bit for the food to come out, but we were in no rush to go anywhere. The rolls were delicious and the Sweet and Sour chicken came out with the chicken separate from the sauce so you could dip the chicken in the sauce. My Mushroom Soup was hot and savory just the way it should be. The real stellar thing was the service because I accidentally spilled my husband's beer. The lady at the counter replaced the beer no questions asked! I am so grateful for her doing that. In the end I would highly recommend this little jewel if you happen to be passing through the area.
