The presentation of everything was next level and truly perfect. The details on the dishes and cups and also the way the items were plated were the prettiest I have ever seen at any place. The attention to detail is very easy to see. The staff here goes above and beyond to make the experience of each customer super special. It was truly magical. We were in awe of everything that came out--- the teapot, the baskets, the little touches on plates and drinks. It was all super unique and just special. Service is horrible when a place says they close at 9:30. You arrive at 8:30 and I have to tell you to rush put the order in quickly because the restaurant closes is very rude but yet two other parties come in after I ordered and you can barely understand what they're saying to you. Afternoon tea experience was one of the best things I've done in a long time. Everything was so delicious. Service was so kind and informative. The space is literally gorgeous. Perfect place for a special event. The apps, desserts, sautéed udon, duck noodle soup... so good. The choices of tea are plentiful! We tried cherry blossom, brown rice tea, and an iced peach tea. I visited Tong D with Meg M today! I have only been once before a few years ago for takeout. I remember picking up the food and noticing how beautiful it was and the food was delicious. I was so happy to visit again and dine in today. I don't know what took me so long to come back! We came for high tea and stayed for dinner. We first split the macaron tea which was a perfect blend of vanilla, almond, and a touch of sweet. The tea set itself was so beautiful too! We had a few appetizers with it and a flight of sauces! Everything was delicious. We also had cocktails and I had a lemon ginger cocktail. I love ginger and this cocktail actually had ginger in it, so good! For dinner I had khao soi which was a dream. I had mine served with tofu and veggies. My friend had pad thai. Again... all delicious! We ended the meal with more tea and desserts! The coconut rice with mango was fantastic! All the food was delicious but the presentation of the food was out of this world. They have the most beautiful baskets that are from Thailand and all of the flowers and garnishes are so fresh. The restaurant is decorated so beautifully too, it is covered in flowers right now. They said they change out the decor every season! The owner and staff were all so friendly and attentive too. Wow. I tried Tong-D for the first time since moving to Barrington last year and I wish I wouldn't have waited so long! I met a friend for lunch and ordered from their lunch menu and it was perfection. The presentation of the starters, which you get to select from was amazing and the coconut soup was some of the best I've ever had. The lunch menu is quite large with diverse options and was so filling I didn't even eat dinner. The Pad Thai was my favorite I've ordered since I've moved to the East Coast. The ambience of the restaurant is so pleasant and the server was incredibly sweet to allow my friend and I plenty of time to enjoy a long meal with no rush. This was the best Khao Soi so I've had in Providence. It was comparable to what I am used to being from the West Coast. Perfectly spicy and well cooked. I appreciated that the chicken wasn't a large drumstick, but rather more grilled chicken slices in the soup and the noodles were plenty. Also tried the mango sticky rice, which I would get a 9.5 of 10. It's missing the .5 because I only ordered takeout and probably should have eaten it on the spot. read more

We've been getting take out from here for a while now, especially during Covid. Their beef teriyaki, coconut soup and Tom yum soup are all very good.
