Saw raving reviews for this place and decided to order via Uber Eats. The food was well packed and hot when it arrived, but my cake & ice cream was packed with the hot items so my ice cream was slightly melting. The food overall was good and hit the spot. The lamb skewers were tender, light seasoning and little gamey but not overly. I really enjoyed the meefeen, it definitely has a kick to it. The rice noodle was nothing I have had before. I was expecting the typical thin rice noodle from a package but these were the real thing. They were thick and the perfect texture. It's like the thickness of udon but texture of rice noodle. It is a tad oily which makes sense because I think the sauce is made with chili oil. I also tried the honey cake. The cake is moist, and paired well with the ice cream. I did not put much of the honey on top because it was already really sweet as is. It was an enjoyable slice of cake to finish the meal off. Great place and delicious food! I would order here again but open to try their other items than re-ordering what I had today.

Really enjoyed the spicy meefen - I told them "I'd like you to try and kill me" when asked for my preferred spice level; they took a real solid crack at that. Good scallion pancakes and the rest of my party enjoyed the dumpling app as well as their entrees. It sort of revolves around whether you like big noodles, because these are very much the thick ones and I didn't see any other options. Personally, I enjoy it as it feels like a more substantial meal. It's not cheap but worth it in my opinion!

I understand the HYPE! This place is incredible. The staff is extremely caring and attentive to customers. Hayden and Haymi specifically have been my servers both times I have come and I would come back just for them.... BUT THE FOOD. Incredible. Extremely hearty and filling. The spicy Meefen noodles are Hayden's favorite and now they are my favorite! I also tried the blistered eggplant dish the first time I came and loved that. This time I opted for the spicy potatoes and those were delicious also. I will keep coming back. The restaurant inside is really beautiful also. Thank you see you soon friends

I've been on a hunt to find honey cake ever since I leaned about its existence and had been struggling to find, and then stumbled upon Jahunger while at a Wickeden Street Market. Was so pleasantly surprised. NGL based on the name I always assumed Jahunger was Jamaican but it is indeed a Uyghur restaurant. I got the Jahunger Noodles with tofu and I really liked it. Good flavors and love that they have tofu / are accessible to other diets. I did think the dish was a little too oily but I still would get it again and have since I first tried. The honey cake is also delicious! They call it "not your average honey cake) but I've not had an average one to compare to, so the hunt continues lol. My only complaint is that all the dishware is plastic. I ordered one of the teas and the entire pot with the boiling water was plastic...not a fan of that.

What a cute little spot. Parking is on the street and it's wickeden, so be prepared to walk (it's also on a hill) Loved the music and vibes inside. It is SMALL in there though, there are like maybe 5-6 tables? But seating is size friendly. And there is decent space in between. The food was very good. Wish there was more licked peppers and onions with the polo. We liked the sturdiness of the hand pulled noodles. The green beans were cooked to perfection. The tea was great, not too hot at all. Would go back to try more!

I went here with my friend for the first time a few months back and I really wanted to try the Meefan or Original Meefan but was talked into the chicken stew- it was so flavorful and delicious... when we were both full it still looked like we hadn't touched the food- TONS of leftovers for me- yay! The green beans were also tasty. Beer was on the warm side but they had just gotten their approval back to serve alcohol. Our server was very informative and seemed to really care and also enjoy the food! We sat downstairs and that was nice but the upstairs looks very cozy! Can't wait to go back and try some of the noodles- on my list is the Original Meefan and the Jahunger Noodle!

If you have not yet tried Jahunger, you need to run there now. On August 30th, my cousin who is a student at Brown returned to campus and wanted to have dinner at Jahunger. Of course, I was on board since Jahunger is so amazing. We walked in about 6:00pm on a Sunday and we were able to secure the last table on the first floor. It was a busy night at Jahunger and a queue formed after we were seated. Jahunger always offered first floor and second floor seating, but they now have outside dining as well. The menu can be accessed via a QR code which was new. I had to grab a staff member's attention to take our order. We ordered a few dishes to share: Handmade Lamb Dumpling, Kavap, Jahunger Noodle, Spicy Beef Tripe, and Mutton Noodle Soup. They had already run out of samsa and chicken stew. The food came out fresh and hot. We enjoyed all the food and all the flavors were spot on. The mutton noodle soup was probably the weakest dish, but everything was very good. Our favorite is still the Jahunger Noodle. This is always the highlight of our meal. It's always a great time at Jahunger.

When I saw Jahunger while researching Providence, I knew we had to stop in because I've never tried Uyghur food before. I love all the Asian food and being able to try a subset that I've never had before was really exciting. There were no reservations so we tried to show up early, which was a good idea, as the place filled up fast. The place is decorated a bit sparsely, but what they have is beautiful. I loved being upstairs by the traditional seating arrangement they have on display. I wish we could have sat at it, it was so pretty. You can tell this place used to be a home because the bathroom has a tub still but I found that charming. It seemed a bit dirtier than I would have liked but it wasn't gross or anything. Service was a bit slow but our server was nice and seemed to be trying really hard. He made sure to warn us of stuff, in case we wouldn't find it pleasant, like warning me that the plum juice isn't what you'd expect. He was right, but I enjoyed the smoky, fermented flavor. It went with the food really well. The food was really good and if I have the opportunity again, I'd absolutely have Uyghur food. My husbands noodles were amazing and I loved the cook and the flavor. I had the Polo and I found it ok. The best part was the pickled veggies. I could eat those everyday. We also had the samsa which were also just ok. Great flavor but I don't believe the execution was the way it was supposed to be. They were a bit tough and hard.

I knew it would be good with its James Beard Award nomination, and it did not disappoint. The food was flavorful and just the right amount of spice. The honey cake and coffee ice cream was a sweet ending. It's a small cozy space. The servers were friendly. I will be back for more. I def recommend!

    Laghman noodle with tofu.

A lot of people had recommended Jahunger, especially for the hand-pulled noodles -- so I went. I ordered the laghman noodle with tofu. Everything about the meal was great: the vegetables were well-seasoned and prepared, the noodles were quite good (not sticky, not dry, and not too heavy for digestion), and the tofu was a good texture and a perfect vehicle for the dish's flavorful sauce. Meal was well-priced for the portion and incredibly filling. Service was very fast, and staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself was cozy, too. Definitely enjoyed my meal!

i've become a regular, the kind who sits down and immediately the servers know what i'm ordering with my modifications. can also testify that all hand pulled noodles hold up for take-out, eaten cold, or warmed later. i love the dimmer vibes upstairs if you can get seated there. the hospitality is the best, and i've seriously never had a bad experience. the most consistent place ive eaten at in RI. get the lamb dumplings, try the spicy beef tripe, alternate between the laghman and jahunger noodle. jahunger noodles, i usually order with a little less peppercorns and dehydrated red peppers just because of my heartburn issues but it's not actually spicy like that. the meat is tenderized amazingly so. they are super helpful about modifications, like subbing in tofu or tweaking for dietary restrictions. i'm happy to see that become a thing. will never stop eating here.

Hello food lovers! It has been a while since I posted, So to break that stigma I wanted to have a raving review to one of the most talked about noodle place in Providence, Rhode Island - JAHUNGER! And... we are EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED because it sucked! We ordered the Jahunger noodles, lamb steamed $13 dumplings, green beans and pancake. We spent $18.50 per noodle (2) order and everything totaled to $85, Based on posts and reviews this noodle spot is supposed to be a Michelin contender hence why I chose to spend our hard earned money here. So why the disappointment and dissatisfaction? Taste= noodles were rubbery and the taste is ordinary, nothing special, I wish it did. Dumplings= Store bought dumplings taste waaay better and much cheaper Green beans= it's just spicy and a little soggy Pancake= bland and that's it! Portion - The servings are so small for the price. It would make you sweat WTFRIDGE?!?! The noodles serving is so little you can see the floor of the container. So , if you're just curious like me, go ahead and order. However, if you want to spend your money wisely, so someplace else and don't waste your energy and money at JAHUNGER because it's hard to find parking and the food BLAH! Ciao!

    Chicken Stew
    Elizabeth X.

Amazing meal--one of the best we had in Providence. The lamb was flavorful and tender. The chicken stew had a complex flavor profile that went well with the juicy chicken, chewy hand pulled noodles, and potatoes. The eggplant was also delicious, although I thought the portion size was a little small. I'm usually not a fan of tea, but the earl gray tea was good and came in a gorgeous cup. It also paired well with the honey cake, which was amazing, especially with the coffee ice cream. It was an exceptional dessert, so it definitely fit the name "Not Your Typical Honey Cake!"

There are tables and benches in the complex nearby. While the vibe was relaxed/nice, I just picked things out from the fridge to-go. A small note: I'm kind of pretty picky about baked sweets. Along with ice cream, they have cakes and cookies, and milk of the chocolate or coffee variety. I got a cow cake (no photo since I forgot), Valentine's Day cookie, and coffee milk to take home. The cow cake was good! Not too sweet, but could maybe could taste a little more chocolate. It had a creamy taste to it. The Valentine's Day cookie was really, really pretty and is more of a treat for the eyes. It's a sugar cookie, so yeah it's sweet, and was mostly buttercream (I believe it was buttercream but correct me if I'm wrong) than cookie. The coffee milk was pretty sweet, but yummy, which is surprising because I don't like coffee milk that much (sorry RI). But I would get Wright's coffee milk again. The pricing was roughly $7 for a cake slice (a box of cake really), $5 for cookie, $2 for coffee milk. I thought it was fair pricing!
