Our experience was extremely disappointing from the moment we walked in. We arrived as two families with a party of 9 and even offered to split into two separate tables. There were five available 4-person tables, yet the hostess/waitress refused to seat us, repeatedly stating they only accepted parties of 8. She even said she had to ask a manager whether we could be seated at two separate tables, which made us feel very unwelcome. When we questioned whether they simply didn't want to serve us, we were suddenly offered two tables anyway. The entire interaction left us feeling singled out and discriminated against. Unfortunately, the service only got worse. The same waitress who initially refused to seat us was assigned to our children's table. Two of our children were served undercooked pancakes and waffles. When we sent the waffles back, instead of making fresh ones, they simply microwaved them, and they were still undercooked. Our children ended up sharing food because their meal was never properly remade. To make matters worse, the restaurant refused to remove the inedible waffles from our bill, expecting us to pay for food that was not properly prepared or replaced. From the unwelcoming treatment at the door to the poor service, undercooked food, and refusal to make things right, this was one of the worst brunch experiences we've had. We will not be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant. See the image of reheated food undercooked waffles.
Talk about an amazing menu!!! They have so many delicious options whether you are vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, gluten free, or carnivore! Truly impressive. I can't eat dairy and never get to indulge in decadent Mac n cheese and here I could! Highly recommend. The servers are really great too. I've had delicious coffee drinks and cocktails here!
My partner wanted to revisit this place and i definitely wanted to explore and try this cute restaurant. There are two doors, and the main door was the one with numbers on front. Very cute and cozy. We got bae side seating and had views to the main action, the cooks! Staff were prompt in seating us and very kind. They were very kind to let us know that our food was going to take a bit, which I highly appreciate. Ordered a monkey smoothie which had Chocolate, banana and coffee. It's was very sweet and will give you that sugar rush along with coffee~ Ordered a, Make your own BREKKI which I selected the Cheesecake Waffle with fried chicken side which was +$8. My chicken was juicy, crispy outside, and a good portion. It was missing some kind of spice, so I had to add hot sauce and ketchup. I just felt like I needed more flavor. Chicken itself is a simple fried chicken~ the waffle was wheat, and the topping of cheesecake crème, with fruit really paired well with the wheat waffle! Didn't need any syrup because it would've over sweetened it~ Overall, good food and cute location because there seems to be plenty to do and check out in the area. This place has many drinks and I would to come back and have a girls brunch date!
Rating: 4.0 Went to try this place for brunch. It's a bit further out for me but decided to give a try. The place is located along a street full of shops which would be nice to walk around and check out during good weather. Inside is pretty small with few seatings and was busy but was able get a counter seat right away. The place offers mainly sandwiches, fried chicken, seafood, and some fusion dishes. I ordered the scarlet witch smoothie and pork belly bowl which was their specials. The smoothie was pretty good. Good balance of flavors that are not too overwhelming and refreshing. The pork belly bowl was pretty good. Fatty pork belly with soy based savory sauce paired with sushi rice, cilantros, scallions and jalapeños. The service was good as everyone was nice. They did forget my straw for the smoothie but they were busy so maybe it was just a one off. Overall pretty good place solid food options and good service. Downside is that the place is small so there may be a wait during busy times and the price was on the higher side. Would try again if i'm in the area.
Came back and still great service. I ordered a cocktail this time, and it was so delicious. My friend had the coffee milk cocktail as well and that was super yummy. I had the build your own Mac and cheese which was a bit too soupy for my liking and it's very expensive to add meats and toppings to the dish. My friend's poutine was also very yummy!
Holy Cow!!! I've been following this place on social media for awhile and I finally pulled the plug and tried it today. My biggest mistake was not getting this food sooner!! I got the Mac and cheese with added fried chicken for take out. By the time I got home I just needed a slight airfryer reheat. I think of myself as a Mac and cheese connoisseur and this is one of the best restaurant ones I've had in a WHILE! This will 1000% not be my last time there.
Giving them a second chance as everyone really seemed to love it. So glad I did. Brunch today at Rhody Roots was amazing! Let me start with the service. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, it felt like they were friends. We had a reservation and were seated by the windows. There is so much to see inside that I guarantee I didn't see everything in this small space. I loved the eclecticness of the decor! My wife ordered the Basic Brekkie as that is her go to. This was anything but basic. The bacon was thick cut and cooked perfectly crunchy. The homefries were perfectly seasoned and crisp. The multigrain bread was a great option too rather than the basic offerings. I ordered the Hash it out. Kale, sweet potatoes, cashew creama and an egg. Wow. Just wow. It was so good that I wish I could eat it every day for breakfast. We also shared a churros waffle. They offer pancakes, waffles and French toast with 5ish different toppings. I love churros so I was surprised that the waffle not only tasted like a churro but that it had a crunchy texture like one. I'd definitely recommend it. We saw the poutine and chicken & waffles brought out and they were gigantic. They were serving breakfast, lunch, sushi and everything on their menu at 10:30am which is pretty incredible. I also liked that they have an a good variety of hot teas, local beers and cocktails. I'm already looking forward to our next visit in February. I can't wait to try more of their epic creations!
I've heard about Rhody Roots for years but this is my first visit (to be fair, I moved across the country for two of those years, so not entirely my fault). I remember the raving reviews I'd heard when they first opened, but I forgot what their "thing" is - I'm guessing it's their ability to make anything gluten free? In any event, my husband and I showed up at 12:45pm on Walkabout Warren Sunday and didn't expect to be seated within the hour, so the fact that we were seated right away was awesome. The cocktail menu looked delicious, but my husband doesn't drink alcohol and I'm pregnant, and it seemed unexpectedly difficult to make the Lord Pumpkin (essentially, pumpkin flavored coffee with chocolate and rum) non alcoholic, so he opted for a regular coffee. I got the Hash It Out with sausage subbed for an egg (due to an egg allergy, which made most of the breakfast items - unsurprisingly - hard to order) - and I loved it. It was VERY filling. The cashew sauce (?) seemed slightly arbitrary and not very flavorful, but I really enjoyed the meal. My husband got the Scotch Egg, which I think should be renamed to Scotch Eggs (there are two!) and he ordered a waffle because he was unsure about the size of the Scotch Egg. This is probably my fault because back in my pre-egg-allergy days, I had one elsewhere and it definitely qualified as an appetizer rather than a meal. This one is a MEAL in case you're wondering. Nevertheless, my husband ate both plates because he's a champion. The pecan pie waffle was truly a dessert, and quite delicious. I would like to visit again for dinner just to see. While the writing on the walls was a little dramatic, my husband loves comic books and enjoyed the decor. See you again soon, Warren!
I've been to Rhody multiple times, I honestly can't believe I've never left a review before! It's one of my favorite local places to eat at. The service is always fantastic! The fried pickles are by far my favorite thing on the menu, I could eat those all day. The ambiance is so fun, and I just love the small-town family feel of it. Feels so homey! As a vegan, I love that they offer a pretty large vegan menu. It's so nice to have options, including breakfast all day. I'm still eating my way through everything, but I've enjoyed everything I've eaten so far! I was first introduced to this place by a friend who has celiac disease, and I love that Rhody is a safe place to eat for her. Being able to eat somewhere safe is tough for anyone with allergies or dietary restrictions, but Rhody does it well! I'll be back here again and again.

Great selection, loved the Poke bowl! I built it myself and loved every bit of it. Lasted wonderfully in the fridge too. Ambience is cool but I couldn't figure out how to get in the front door... Sand on the windowsill (yes on purpose) got in my bag on the floor, I suppose I should've been more careful but why do they have a bunch of sand on the windowsill. Also, tell me why they have smoked bacon in the pear salad under the "veggie" menu?? Very disappointing. Service is nice but not very attentive. read more
Brunch spot with plenty of gluten free options and absolutely delicious calamari and fish & chips! They offer most of their menu to be made gluten free except some of their maki/sushi. They have a pretty decent sized dining room and a few outdoor seating options. They're located on a busy street with lots of traffic but plenty of parking. The servers were super friendly but a bit slow and forgetful. Overall we had a great experience and would give it another try! read more

This was an absolutely great experience all around! The atmosphere, the server, the food were all outstanding. Shout out to our server LIAM!! Super friendly, welcoming, fun and chill! Never rushed us and was attentive providing excellent service. The food was AMAZING. The burger I got was one of the best I've ever had. The beef itself was so delicious and fresh. The portion of fried pickles was crazy! Even just the presentation of the food was beautiful. Everything was impressive. Shout out to the chef! Will definitely be coming back soon! read more
Small place with a good, fun environment. Staff was friendly and on their A game! I like how most of their menu can be altered to be vegan. It's a shame more restaurants do not take this approach! We had build your own Mac and cheese with buffalo sauce and fried chicken. Chicken was a tad fatty, but it was a good dish. We also had the hash it out bowl - which can be made with eggs, just egg or tofu. Went with the tofu option. It was delicious and a large portion. Will definitely be back! read more
I truly just love this little place. It's ambiance is quirky, all employees are as friendly as can be. Tons of food options, vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian you name it. All cocktails I have ever tried here are fantastic. Hubs and I have tried numerous dishes. The only dish I wasn't a fan of was the Pear Salad, seemed to be missing something but couldn't put my finger on it. Who doesn't love a place with sushi, and all day breakfast. read more

First time here with my honey. It has been open for a couple of years now but never been. After having to read the other positive reviews, and good feedback from my foodie friends, I finally decided to pull the trigger. Our kids are away this weekend, so nice to have an adult date night without kids. Our teens are picky and really limits our choices if we have to feed them. But not today. This place did not disappoint! The conclusion first - Food 5, Decor 3, Service 5 - and they were friendly and happy to have us. Needless to say, we go to places for food so it was a wise decision to finally try this place. We ordered the Sushi for One - dozen sushi pieces and sashimi omakase combo. Poutine with eggs on top, brussel sprouts bowl. That was actually too much food quantity for two of us, but I would rather have more than not enough. I am not sure if there are many places where you can order sushi and poutine from the same menu. This place certain can please a wide range of tastes. I had a mistaken idea that this place was a vegan place - like Plant City. Nope - they have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options, but certain have dishes for your omnivorous friends. I think they periodically rotate the menu. To me, what was surprizing the most was the food - the Sushi for One omakase. I have eaten at many sushi joints in and outside of the US and Japan. Reasonably priced and was actually pretty good. Probably better than some sushi places on East Bay like Baba Baba or Ichigo Ichie where the venues are "Japanese" in name only. This place is much better. No heavy sauces or visual tricks. Pretty standard presentation - that I prefer. The rice used for the sushi nigiri and maki were actually property flavored - i.e. little sweet vinegar and salt, and let it sit at the right temperature - not too hot off of the cooker, or too cold when put in the fridge. The rice and the "gu" i.e. the fish should be at the optimal serving temp. This place got it right. I am going to come back again. read more

Service was outstanding!!!!! I'm going to start with the negatives and end with the positives. There were only two things I had issues with the first thing was the place was freezing and that our starter came out at the same time as our meal. For the starter we got the Rhody Poutine, it was unique take on poutine fries and gravy. The fries are all cooked with duck fat and the gravy is also made from duck fat. The portion is huge , best to share with a table of 4. The fries were unbelievably tasty, never had to add salt. They were perfectly crispy on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside. My burger was a little over cooked and dry but still tasty. The chicken fried sandwich my wife had was so delicious! It was so juicy, and I loved the seasoning they use on the batter. I can't wait to come back and try the other items on the menu. read more

Quality, value, and innovative restaurant serving variety of options that will make your taste buds smile! The Scotch eggs was unexpectedly a favorite and a must try! Super crispy home made sausage on the outside that somehow magically wrapped around perfectly soft boiled egg over duck fat gravy with large bits of beacon and greens on top. I highly recommend trying this as a brunch dish on its own, if you enjoy soft boil or poached eggs as much as I do! The large succulent RI Scallops were cooked perfectly over mashed peas. The presentation was beautiful! Kudos to the chef for delivering such innovative and tasty treats! What brought me through the doors originally during height of pandemic was their vegetarian offering of meatless buffalo and poutine, but it was the variety that kept me wanting to try more! The sushi was good and I would order again. The salad options were really good. I recall the quality greens and beautiful colors from beet it salad for healthier option when it was on the menu. I haven't tried drinks, but they offer N/A spirits for those that want the taste without the alcohol. There was even a coffee milk option. The interior of the restaurant is fun. There are four window seats that offer great views of the street. There is also a wall to draw on, which is a great way to pass the time while waiting for your food for kids or adults. There's also board games by the windows for those interested. Overall, Rhody Roots is a great place to go for meals at anytime of the day. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is fun, and the service is good. With so many options, there is something for everyone. Some might think it's pricy, but it's based on selection. I do feel their price point is fair and good value comparing to others that may charge a lot more for the quality of food served! Reference the menu pictures for pricing. Parking can be difficult to find off street during busy season, but there is a lot near by across the street for the city with 3 hour limit. read more

So glad we finally decided to try Rhody Roots!! The food was absolutely delicious!!!! We thoroughly enjoyed the Mac n' Cheese that was prepared with Warren, RI Prica Farina freshly made pasta and the chefs delicious house cheese sauce! The Mushroom Bolognese was really great too! Again prepared with Prica Farina pasta and topped with tons of mushrooms and walnuts!!! Lastly, the Chicken and Waffles... omg... SO good!!! We will definitely be turning Rhody Roots into one of our go to restaurants!!! read more

I have been eying Rhody Roots for a while now and have wanted to try them out. Well, tonight was finally the night, and I don't know why it took so long! We opted to get a few dishes to split, as there were several things that looked good on the menu. We got mushroom bolognese, chicken and Waffles, and Mac and Cheese. All were amazing! The pasta is from a local Warren pasta company, which is worth stopping into for your own creations. The flavors in the bolognese were good, and I would highly recommend it, but the Chicken and Waffles were a whole other level of awesomeness! The waffles were not your basic bland waffle, I don't know what was in the batter, but it is perfection! The chicken was so tender and tasted good on its own. Served with syrup and a red hot sauce, it made for some awesome flavors that would be hard to not order again the next time. Now let's not forget the mac and cheese. Again, homemade pasta, with a homemade cheese sauce. Another dish that was out of this world good! With COVID, Rhody Roots is doing curbside, delivery, and just about anything else to get this amazing food to you right away. So if you haven't tried them yet, go there now! read more

The food was delicious, great selection for both vegetarians and carnivores. This was very appreciated being a vegetarian for so long you often have to make sacrifices in ordering a full meal or simply only have options to order side dishes and modified salads. This was not the case at Rhode Roots, the full menu was available. Ok so enough about the delicious food let's move on to the drinks. Beautifully mixed cocktails with lots of options, clever captivating names for each drink. Lunch and a few cocktails was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon with my sisters while visiting the east coast. The waitstaff was kind and attentive. I will be back next time I am in Bristol. read more

Love this place so much! My partner and I came from NYC to visit Providence for the weekend and bike the East Bay Bike Path. We decided to stop in Warren for lunch and were immediately drawn into the town and especially Rhody Roots because of the vibe and vegan options. We ended up speaking with our server Liam for a while, who happened to be the most amazingly helpful and friendly person ever. Definitely will be back the next time we are in town, if we don't end up moving there first! read more
