I was so sad when he left though happy for his next adventure. I was randomly placed with Heather and I have to say, it was kismet and I absolutely adore her! She's great with color and does well in guiding me; especially when I come in with the most vague concepts or am unsure of what I would exactly like to do (probably every hairdressers nightmare, but she is a great sport and so very patient and collaborative with me). The salon is located in a very convenient location with plenty of parking. My interactions with all staff have been pleasant and they have a great selection of product to choose from as well located in the lobby!

I recently moved to Duxbury and needed a hair stylist. The receptionist scheduled me with Danielle for a haircut. She was very friendly and seemed like she was listening to me when I showed her a picture of a long bob with a long wavy front and a lot of short beautiful layers in the back with a dramatic slant . I told her straight off because my hair is long (was..) that it was.. very very ...important to me that the front be below my collarbone. I touched my chest and showed her where I wanted it ,..BELOW..my collarbone. She said ok. Her first time snipping through it was much shorter, ...to my shoulders , ABOVE my collarbone. I shrieked inside but told myself well, it's already done so I can live with it. At least it's (not above my shoulders). Which I hate. I detest my hair floating above my shoulders like a bobble head. The problem was she kept going front to back pulling hair up and snipping a tiny bit more and a tiny bit more and a tiny bit more and a tiny bit more. She stopped halfway to rinse another client and when she came back she went over the left side... once more, totally leaving out the right side. I even a sqeemed and said to her.. pleeease.. no more from the front. I think she forgot where she left off. I asked for the mirror and there was barely a slant from the front to the back and no pretty layers in the back. It was like a bowl cut. I'm not lying... I'll add a photo. I had to ask for more from the back to at least have some slant. Anyways... I ended up with bobble head hair and a very generic version of the picture I showed her. This is not personal , I believe Danielle was a very friendly person, but I am not at all pleased with my hair. It's in my nature to just grin and bare it. I even tipped her, but after getting home and seeing my hair closely I have been stewing over this. I will now have to use the pandemic time to try to grow my hair back out to at least touch below my shoulders. Uuuggh!

I ended up getting a credit for the bio ionic service, since it was discovered that perhaps it was the product that was the issue. I decided not to go forward with any other straightening services at this time as I didn't want my hair to fall out. So they put me with another stylist Carolyn. She was excellent. She listened to exactly what I wanted and I showed her pictures and she achieve the perfect look I had in my mind. I would like to thank the owner Christine for making sure that I was satisfied as well. I will definitely be back because of the quality of products used and customer service.

I have come to this salon and enjoyed my experience before, it is a beautiful space and the stylists do wonderful work. Unfortunately, I was very put off by the way that my stylist presented herself at my last appointment. Quite frankly, she smelled of booze and the night before. I tried to ignore it but her colorful language and vulgar stories made me feel very uncomfortable for most of my appointment. I do not want to name names, I assume that if one staff member felt comfortable demonstrating this behavior then it is properly a widespread issue. Great salon but customer service needs to be fine tuned.

When I went I check in for my appointment, there was no counter space. It was filled with knickknacks and I had no room to search in my purse. There was retail galore!!!! It's so much you don't know where to look! 5 or 6 hair care lines, nail polish, lotions, body butter, scrubs, implements, flat irons.... Way over the top! There are even racks in the middle of the floor that you as the customer have to maneuver around! While getting a pedicure, it was good, the table in between the 2 pedi tubs was filled with flyers and table tents I kept knocking all kinda stuff over. Even during checkout, I broke something that fell off the counter while trying to tip my esthetician. I was overwhelmed!! While the facial was good and the esthetician, Tatiana was knowledgeable. I won't be returning because I was overstimulated and didn't leave relaxed.

They also have have a multitude of stylists, one to fit YOUR personality and unique requirements and desires. My stylist is Judy and I could not be happier with her expertise and consistency. Well . . …read more My first visit to the new Ambrosia location was after moving back to the area a few months ago, and my short bob needed a cut. Loved the easy-peasy online booking and since I wasn't anyone's client yet, I just scheduled by who was available. The front desk reception is delightful - welcoming and helpful. I liked the low key atmosphere, no hard sell on retail products, and the location with plenty of parking. I did not like being taken to the shampoo chair before taking my jacket off, and leaving it on the floor with my bag, getting dripped on. Anyway, that first cut was a good length - but - each side was styled different from the other. One side had feathery layers, the other side was a straight cut bob. It was cleverly blended, and I didn't see the difference until I washed and tried to style it myself. Live & learn, everyone is new and has to learn, right? So the next time, I made an appointment with a different stylist. It was going well from the first - I dropped my bag off at the chair, explained what I was looking for (please fix the sides so they're the same , or as close as they can be), and what I didn't want (please don't follow the cut I have, it's not done as I requested) and even had pictures of my hair cut correctly in days gone by. We were so much in agreement, it seemed all too easy! Of course, a day later after I washed and blew it dry myself, I somehow now had feathery bits on the opposite side and a close-to-straight bob on what was the original feathery side. So disappointing. Three tries is usually my limit when going to a new stylist, but I have to give up at this point and just grow both sides out out and keep bringing my hair pictures with me, looking for a stylist. I had high hopes but unfortunately it won't be here.
