It was my husband's birthday and as we were pressed on availability, I wanted to do something different, yet affordable and local and to my surprise, she checked all of the boxes. I was referred by an associate and it was absolutely perfect, my husband was blown away! What I loved most of all, is that she is so excellent at what she does, that all you need to do is answer a few questions about your likes and dislikes ie. Personality traits and from that alone, she can come up with the most unique ideas that will suit you to a "T". If you're anything like me, it's like you know what you want, but can't quite yourself put it into words, well she take your likes and what's important to you and capture it in such a one of a kind way, like putting words to music, for my husband and myself, it was like an adult play date, a fantasy of sorts. She managed to capture all of the playfulness and freedom that we once experienced as youths, we dropped all of our strict, semi uptight ways that comes so gradually over the years from being responsible adults and we were once again, two carefree youngsters without a care in the world, just enjoying each other's company, in an ambiance so fitting for the occasion. Her attention to detail to capture the most important moments as described to her was so meticulously orchestrated, that I knew right then, if I didn't know before, that this is not only her passion but her life's work. It's RARE these days to find someone so passionate about what they do, that it comes off in there work, in every single detail. My mind was completely at ease. Although it was only a getaway for just a few short hours, we had an epic time, living our very own fairytale, love story @Toni's Crafts and I hope that whoever read this, looking for an adventure of your own and you find yourself short on time, ideas and dare I say funds, Toni's Crafts is definitely the solution to your problems, she will plan an escape modeled just for you and or your party, on a budget that you can afford and yet still give it the same, if not more dedication, as a big, overpriced, party planning company would. She will do her best to work with you just to bring whatever YOUR vision is to life, whatever it is, that YOU want. So for our 5th anniversary we decided to come back to Long Beach but this time my fiancée had several groupon deals to choose from. So out of the 5 options I chose the Queen Mary tour and the painting class with wine. That's how we stumbled across Creative Canvas LA. Laniqua (the owner) was awesome from the moment we called her to see if she would accept our groupon the next day. She saved a spot for us and asked to send her an email once we purchased the groupon so she could make it official. Very cool! Trying to find the place wasn't too hard but we did have to ask a restaurant near by where we could find the painting class. Fortunately for us, they knew exactly what we were talking about and point us along the way. Upon arriving, we had the opportunity to meet Laniqua in person and she remembered it was our anniversary while pointing us to our seats and blank canvases. She had an assistant who was awesome and very helpful while Laniqua walked us through the steps. The only negative was that the groupon said the class comes with a free glass of wine but there wasn't any available and if we did want drinks we had to purchase them from the bar next door. Other than that, the class was fun and very interesting the way you learn how to paint w picture. She had funny jokes and I really appreciated her coming around to help us individually when we were stuck or to save our paintings from our own destruction. I am not an artist naturally. Whenever I have to draw something I usually warn people that it won't be pretty. At the end of the session, and with the help of a glass of wine, I couldn't believe how well my painting turned out. Even for someone who really isn't drawn to painting, it was much easier than I thought when Myia broke it down step by step. I love it so much, and have it proudly displayed in my room right now. This could have been handled so differently. She will forget about this situation but we will undoubtedly remember this situation and make mention to every single person we come across when discussing our crafting classes and experiences...true she won't miss out on business but word of mouth is everything...kindness goes a long way.
