I waited months later- February when I finally received the bag even though I shipped before the holidays- and they had completely removed and replaced all the original hardware, which I never ever approved of, and substituted cheap flimsy gold hardware. He examined my boots and regretfully told me that as a professional he could not in good faith recommend putting any more money into this pair of boots and that he would recommend buying a new pair. He looked at me so sympathetically-knowing I had an irrational attachment to them. He said he could take my money and repair the boots but they wouldn't last and he wouldn't want to do that kind of work. So I ALMOST asked him to repair them anyway. But when a pro is telling you your boots have died, it really is time to accept that your boots have died. I have tremendous respect for someone who has such high standards that they will turn down work if they know the result won't be up to snuff. I have ANOTHER pair of broken boots that I plan to bring there especially now that I know he is a trustworthy craftsman.

I brought a fairly expensive shearling coat to have some alterations performed. Specifically, I needed the buttons moved & sleeves shortened. I was immediately taken back because the proprietor wreaked of cigarettes. Not sure about others but I really cannot stand my clothing or just about anything else smelling of smoke. He was also, less than friendly, bordering on curt. He matter of factly measured me and the coat and informed me that he was really busy and told me it would take about 3 weeks. Can't fault a guy for being busy so I agreed and left. Three weeks later I called and inquired about my coat and was told that it was ready. Said I would be down to pick it up shortly and when I arrived, the store had closed early. Okay, shit happens. Trip number 3 the next day only to find out that it wasn't ready. I reminded him that he said it was done and he had no reply, just reiterated how busy he was. Two weeks later, coat is finally finished. Trip #4. Alterations were sloppy at best and I saw that he had discarded a leather tab that was on one of the sleeves. I asked what happened and he said he decided to leave it off. Really? Would have thought that was my decision. Fortunately, he empties his trash about as often as he empties his ashtray so he was able to fish it out and sloppily reattach it. Again, this is a leather specialty store that specializes in leather repair and tailoring. Demeanor and smell aside, I expected perfect work and received something not even close. I wore the coat maybe a few times, had my local tailor try and repair the shoddy work he performed and ended up giving it away. Not sure about his other work but if you need leather or suede altered or repaired, I would stay the hell away.

They have brought my overly worn, ripped and extremely dirty suede boots back to life! I have the hardest time finding tall boots that fit just right, and when I finally found a pair of course they had to cost me an arm and a leg. So obviously I wore these boots until they had no miles left. (Or so I thought). I stowed them away for a year never having a chance to get them repaired until now. The owner put a new heel edge at the bottom, did a miraculous patch job on this huge rip, and cleaned them up so well that they look brand new! Took a week to do and cost about $50. I cannot thank them enough! Already brought another pair of boots to them and can't wait to get them back!

I contacted Bric's who referred me to their webpage where a list of approved dealers were listed. I contacted Square Luggage and sent the requested information and photos of the broken part. They were extremely helpful and told me the cost if the part and shipping which I found very affordable. After a quick phone call they were able to have the replacement handle to me and the suitcase again looks brand new. I likely won;t be able to shop their store directly; however, reviewing their website I will definitely keep their information for any future needs.
