I was prepared to make a glowing feedback for this product and brand, but unfortunately, after receiving the good, I can't deliver on that expectation. The product is good, but feel a bit cheap to be honest. The bag is a lot lighter than I would have expected a full leather bag to weight and the bottom of the back is not cushioned at all so watch out for your computer. The big issue I got though was around the pricing. You pay a price plus a delivery fee of 130$ to order the bag. Then when the package gets to you, the shipping company asked me to pay an additional 133$ for shipping costs across the border. In small characters before you buy it is saying that the company has no idea of the different fees to cross their product between borders so it is at your own risk. I feel like I have paid the shipping twice and it is not like it was a cheap shipping fee. Additionally, and that is the frustrating part, I could have bought the bag 60$ cheaper at a distributor. I will never purchase any products from this company directly ever again and I would not recommend even to buy with a distributor because of the customer service. I have asked them if they could do something to make it right for the situation, but they have said no without any hesitation or flexibility. If you have a problem with the bag, good luck using the lifetime warranty. I have a feeling that it is more of a marketing keyword for them than anything real. I called the company, told them never received the item, was billed $73.00 on my credit card on December 16, 2024 and they told me it wasn't THEIR problem the postal service is late. I was exceptionally pleased with my Voyager backpack bag which I purchased at a discounted price at Costco about 13-14 years ago. I had long lost the receipt but was advised by JG to send the bag back last year when the zipper to the main large pocket section first broke. This lasted 1 year. I loved this bag and sent it back yet again (upon their recommendation(!)). Upon return of the bag to me, the same zipper was broken within a few days. What did they do? or not, for that matter?... I give up. I love this bag!! I got the Arizona Messenger in Distressed Brown because I wanted something simple and classic that I could wear with just about any outfit. I was afraid to order something like this online, but I emailed customer service and they answered all my questions. It was packaged carefully and got to me pretty quickly. I purchased a briefcase as my first briefcase purchase as a professional -- right after school. The bag lost its shape quickly and cannot stand up on its own. It is hard to explain so I have added pictures. I just mention this because I do not want others to waste their money on the item I purchased. I would recommend looking for a different brand for purchase (check out Billy Kirk, saddleback, etc...). Or consider ordering a different type of case from Jack Georges. After returning my original bag so they could repair the zipper, I received what I considered to be an inferior bag and spoke with Paul, their representative. He said he would take care of this for me and he went above and beyond and found me an exact replica of my original bag, minus the torn zipper, of course. I was in the middle of moving, so having to change bags was a bit of stress I was not counting on. Paul kept me posted all along the way and tracked my package for me, throughout the holiday, so that I would know when to expect it. I am frankly mystified by the negative reviews here. 20 years ago (!) I purchased a briefcase for work. I still have it. I always cherished that bag and remembered the Jack Georges name...so one day a few years ago I saw that Costco had them in for a roadshow. I was thrilled to see the name was still around...and I bought a wallet. And then I bought a Voyager backpack. And then a travel bag (which is ingenious because you can embed a suit in the lining(!)...and more to come. Absolutely love every one of these products...and I can honestly say that the backpack is my #1 travel item - and I travel A LOT. It is a perfect fit for my laptop, writing pads, phones, chargers and pretty much everything I need to establish an office in the sky. It's such a shame that Jack Georges' "lifetime warranty" is no such thing. I loved the products (I have three), but when I sent back my tote to be repaired, the company told me some of the repairs could not be completed because the color was discontinued. They offered me a discount on a new tote--but that's not a lifetime warranty. It's not my fault the color's not being manufactured anymore. If you can't make the repairs, you need to replace the product--not offer the customer a discount on something they now know you don't truly stand behind. At this price point, I expected better. read more

I love this company. The bags are expensive but the quality and style are worth it. I have a business tote that used for about 3 or 4 years. The handled started to deteriorate with wear and tear. Repairs gave me a quote of about $100 to fix it. I sent it in. They sent it back fixed and didn't even charge me for it. (This is actually an update to my previous review, see below) This is an incredible tote that I use frequently and often for work. I bought it in ~2015 when shopping for groceries at Costco -- I was initially a little hesitant at the price tag, but I fell in love with the color + the lifetime warranty. So worth it. I get compliments on it DAILY, and get asked where I bought it. The color pops, the design is classic, and it's incredibly sturdy. It has stood up to my daily use and abuse, to and from court. It is the PERFECT size for legal files FYI. I have tested the warranty twice, both times with excellent results. The first time was after about a year, the straps were getting frayed. I was a little worried I'd have to pay both the cost to ship it back + repair -- but nope! It was an easy ~$15 to ship it to the repair shop in NJ, and within a week I had my lovely repaired bag in my arms. The second time I turned it in for warranty repair was just last week -- the straps were getting frayed again and I broke the zipper by pulling it from an awkward angle. I guess this time they figured it'd be too much work to repair ... and imagine my surprise when I opened the box and saw a brand NEW one. (There wasn't really a whole lot wrong with the one I sent in -- the outside leather was perfect, withstood 3+yrs of heavy use with no scratches or wear visible.) In this day + age, you don't get a lot of companies that are willing to stand behind their warranty -- this is one of them, and the experience has encouraged me to look at their other products as well. I wanted a duffle bag for the lab and school since I'm constantly on the go so I bought one from Costco that looked nice. I've always liked leather so this bag caught my eye. I'm not one to spend a lot of money on stuff and I'm always looking for the best deal so I was a little hesitant on the spending a lot. The salesman should win a medal for winning over someone like me to buying a bag like this but I gotta say I really love it. The bag was sort of pricey but the lifetime guarantee sold me right away. It's pretty comfortable when I'm lugging it around and it's great for getting my stuff around, just throw it in and go. I think the coolest part is that the bag can change size depending on what you're carrying. Yeah, that's probably what I love most about it. I think the product is called a "Voyager Convertible" since it can change between a small bag and a large bag from the zipper in the middle which is great when I don't need it to take up so much room. Purchased my Jack Georges purse about 15 years ago and it has remained in great condition, in spite of lots of use. The shoulder straps were starting to look worn, so I reached out via their website to ask about options. Customer Service was very prompt (always responded within an hour or two) and provided thoughtful options. I chose to send in my bag to have them inspect it and replace the straps. I am updating this review to correct errors contained in the response of Dany C and some further clarifications. (I never would have thought to look back at this review entry had I not received an email from Yelp.) 1) Both repairs went through the retailer Paradise Pens. On both occasions they had the repairs performed by Jack Georges. When I could not get a satisfactory outcome they offered me the chance to speak to Jack Georges directly, which I declined as they were very clear on their policy, which is affirmed by the response of Dany C. 2) I have never contacted Jack Georges directly, or indirectly. This being the case there was no interaction despite Dany C.'s recollection that we had a pleasant exchange. 3) I never received an email from Jack Georges, although I have no way to know that such a response got screened by spam filter. This would seem at odds with them providing me with their number to call to discuss their policy further, which I refused. 4) Users should rely on Yelp's reasons as to why they don't recommend some reviews rather than a vendor who has received a negative review. According to Yelp's website, "On average, our software recommends about three quarters of the reviews that are submitted to the site". Very disappointed in the inaccurate response, however, it is consistent with my one-star rating. If I could make it zero, I would. read more

Their Quality has gone downhill and the "Lifetime Warranty"is meaningless! In our household, we look for quality goods we can take care of and expect a lifetime of service from; Jack Georges can no longer pass even the most cursory evaluations. I sent a Chelsea tote in a closeout color to them for repair. The bag was in SUPERB condition, except that the edging along the straps had cracked, which I wanted to have fixed before it effected the leather. Seems like that would be a relatively minor repair for "dedicated craftsman", right? When I received my "repaired" bag back from them, the edging had been coarsely scraped away, leaving unsightly uneven edges, and replaced with edging in another material and color. WORSE, the area where the straps were attached to the bag had been twisted and stretched, forcibly, leaving the leather as slack as an overcooked noodle, AND the metal keys on both sides of the zipper, though they had been shiny & perfect, were scraped in multiple places AND stained. That bespeaks a real level of abuse. More so: the textured leather on the front of the bag had multiple areas where something white and something else dark had been spilled on it, wiped away but not removed from the fine indentations in the leather. Finally: there was a scuff on the leather itself that had not been on the bag before. These disappointments were made worse by JG's terrible response times; we would have to contact them on average 3 times before they'd reply, and sometimes call repeatedly. When they did reply, they claimed to NOT SEE any problems. We had to explain we had before/after pics if they'd like their memory refreshed. Please keep in mind this company claims "three generations of leather craftsmen influence every phase of product design, development, and manufacturing". It did not take an expert to see the POOR workmanship performed on what had been an excellent bag with a minor issue, and it should not have taken before/after pics for them to recognize shoddy work. When you spend $300, $400, $500 on an item, you are expecting durability. When you see a "lifetime warranty" you expect better service than we've experienced--esp. from a company that explicitly appeals to quality conscious consumers. We were, only after haggling, offered a $400 replacement tote for this bag they damaged in their attempt to perform minor repair work. What we received was further evidence of a company that had traded its core values for cut corners: their $400 Croco embossed tote looked like what you might find at JC Penney for $40. The stitching was not nearly as neat, with loose threads, and it was uneven, thicker than along our previous bags. The inside of each strap had an unsightly matte backing, like the inside of a bonded leather belt. The glossy top-coat had streaking--less glossy places that are a result of wet goods being hastily packed in plastic after manufacture for shipping overseas. (My father has been involved in international manufacture for 40 years, so I know a bit more than most consumers about what I'm seeing.) For the cherry on top: there was already a 2 inch scuff on the bag. Though we tried, politely, to express our disappointment and concern for such evident change in direction of a once beloved company, their values lie elsewhere. Sadly it has become clear there is a reason the images on their own website are so low res. The pictures of stock on amazon will have a zoom--look there for the sloppy stitching along their $500 briefcases. And also notice they have replaced interior leather flaps with flimsy elasticized velcro straps while you're at it. They kept disparaging my tote as a "closeout" without caring about my observation that the quality of that "closeout"(which still bore their name and supposed warranty) was so much better than their current stock. So CAVEAT EMPTOR, folks. In sum, Jack Georges doesn't want you to know their $300 and $500 bags are made in China, hastily and to very poor standards. They don't want you to know that their in-house repair team doesn't seem to be well paid or work under the best conditions, and thus aren't likely to be the "dedicated craftsman" they advertise. Nor do they want you to know they cannot source basic replacement materials for minor things, like straps, even when they offer the same stuff in the same color just a different style. So for Heaven's sake, look elsewhere. Jack Georges hopes you can't tell the difference between different types of leather, or even between leather and bonded leather. We were sent 3 swatches of their Saffian (sic) leathers, but each varied in thickness, manufacturing process, and quality--although all were very poor quality. So if you must shop with them, don't expect much, and spend even less. read more

All items are excellent quality and stand up to my workload items. Other designers may offer briefcases, but I won't purchase because they often don't offer lifetime guarantees. I have had a few Jack Georges pieces over the years (for myself and as gifts for others) and they've been great. The first briefcase I got was actually a gift from my uncle. I have had it for about 25 years and I still love it even if the styling is outdated. Recently, the lock on the bag broke after the flap got stuck at security at the airport (my fault, not TSA's). I emailed Jack Georges. A few minutes later they replied with instructions to send it to them and the next day I sent the bag for repair along with a check for $15 so that they can ship it back to me. It took almost a week to get to them in New Jersey but the bag was done and shipped out on Monday, the same day that they had received it. That is unheard of! I got it back earlier today by FedEx (so FedEx is apparently a little faster than UPS to San Antonio). I opened up the box a little worried because it was done so fast but not only did they change both locks on the flap instead of just the one that was broken, they had also replaced the brass rings that hold on to the shoulder strap that had been wearing out, and they cleaned up the bag so it looks good as new.
