Nice store with a clean minimalist look and products that fold into themselves. They have these sunhats that become tiny circles in a pouch. Makes them easy to take wherever you go so you can wear it or not but not have to worry about where to put it! Easy to navigate the counters, hangers, and walls of products. The ladies at the register are around to assist with any questions you have. They were super helpful. I think for the product itself the price is worth it if you will use it. Ok, straight up: I LOVE BAGGU bags. For years now I've picked up a few here and there (some at fundraisers, others purchased from mom and pop stores). With both New York City and New Jersey no longer providing plastic shopping bags when you make purchases at stores, it is crucial to always have a bag ready to go in your um...other bag (or pockets). BAGGU bags fold up beautifully and don't take up too much room. They come in a wide variety of designs and sizes and they are strong and can hold a good amount of weight. While walking around in Soho the other day I suddenly saw the BAGGU store across the street. Based on the reviews in this thread the store has apparently been around for a couple years now yet *somehow* I missed this and I told myself I would correct this, posthaste! When I entered the BAGGU store I won't lie, I think my eyes kind of did that sparkly Anime eyes thing you see in cartoons. I mean, sure they had BAGGU bags, but I had no idea BAGGU had different types of bags like handbags. I also had no idea they made wallets and socks either! If you're into the BAGGU brand at all, this store is where you want to be to see the wide variety offered by the company! Of course, my main interest was in the foldable bags and *wow* what a fun variety they had! Some were modeled after very NYC-centric items like an "I Love NY" bag. Others were more artsy while others featured animals. They even had ones with Hello Kitty. It was quite the variety. In the past I've seen stores carry maybe 1-3 styles at one time. It was wonderful to have such a selection to choose from! The bags also come in small, regular and large sizes and they have samples hanging on the walls to show off the sizes. I've seen other reviews mentioning bad service here. There were two young ladies behind the counter when I paid and they were...okay? They were not particularly effusive or welcoming, nor were they rude. They were just kind of...there. Take that as you will. The staff here is literally useless and rude. This was my first time at a physical store for this brand that I just discovered and asking any type of question absolutely annoyed the staff. Which we had to ask the same question multiple times to even receive an answer. I will only be ordering online from now on due to the fact that the staff were so unfriendly. So I came here on a recommendation from my hairstylist who works at Sola Salons up the street. I walked in, loved the bags immediately, literally had my arms full of them because I couldn't choose. I obviously couldn't justify buying the 7 bags I had my eye on lol so I picked two. The woman working at the cash register was nice at first, told me she would give me 10% off one of them because it was the floor model and the final in stock. But her coworker went in the back and found one, and she then told me, "Oh never mind." I asked if I could still take the floor model for the 10% off, and she spoke to me like I was stupid and told me obviously not because they found one in the back. I've worked the service industry for about 8 years (retail and restaurant) and so I know that it is not common practice nor is it recommended to 1) retract a deal/discount 2) to be super rude about your own mistake. Now, as I said, these bags are right up my alley. I justified paying $46 for a tote bag because the design was adorable and the strap adjustable. I only selected two bags, with the knowledge that I would go back after my next haircut (I go every 3 months) but after my interaction with her, I have absolutely no desire to ever come back here. So, yeah - at first, was convinced this is maybe a little pricey but a good investment. Now? SO not worth supporting. read more

In short: Rude staff who do not offer help or have any customer service skills. I have been wanting a BAGGU for years now. I work nearby and decided to stop in. The store is small and was extremely busy - no biggie, it's Williamsburg. The staff was rude and seemed to be bothered by me asking the price on UNTAGGED items. I have a soft voice and one of the employees "Come over here. I can't hear you." In a stern tone. Umm..okay? A "please" would've been appreciated. Whatever, anyways - I had asked for the cloud bag in a dark green color "Kelp". As I asked for that bag, I watched as 4 people without masks touched and rubbed their hands on the bag. Unfortunately they didn't have a new bag and took the display. They did not ask me if I wanted to substitute it with another color. They just took it, didn't sanitize it, and handed it to me. No discount even though the employees and I WATCHED people touch it? Most stores will at least offer an alternative color choice before charging the customer! Severely disappointing. read more

Every time I visit NY, I always make sure to stop by BAGGU and pick a couple of reusable bags. I've been a customer of BAGGU products since 2010. I'm pretty sure I could open a second shop with all the items I have from them. The reusable bags are so convenient to have since they offer them in various sizes. I'm a loyal fan of Baggu reusable bags and buy them online- they're my go-to for toting groceries to and fro. I've never stepped inside a store until I visited their Brooklyn location- they happened to be also having a sample sale at a nearby space! While their online selection is more expansive than what is on display, it's always nice to view the bags in person and decide which prints and size you'd like. And help the environment by not using plastic bags! Every season they come out with new prints that I must have- I'm currently loving the new fall pear design. Love the fruit and veggie prints, as well as the sailor stripes an florals. Their bags are lightweight yet hold an impressive amount of weight/items- they also came in handy while I was moving. The Big Baggu size is great for bigger items and laundry- I believe it holds up to 50 lbs. I usually use the standard Baggus for my weekly grocery shopping. Their Duck bags are a cult favorite too! I love all bags. I think one can never have too many bags, esp when they are helping you be green! I joined the Baggu bandwagon last winter when they moved into their space and hosted a fabulous sale. Baggu prices are friendly enough, but their sale prices provide you an excuse to have a Baggu for every situation in your life. I regularly use: - zip bags (wallet? gym clothes? things that must be segregated within my perilous purse?) - baby baggu (which actually holds a baby watermelon perfectly or gym shoes/light gym clothing) - M baggu (for everything really). I also have one of the BIG baggus, which can be used for laundry or for holding half of my roommate (she used to be a gymnast and when we saw how big the bag was, we had to test it out). Also, like Longchamp totes, these are GREAT for adding to your luggage when traveling. You never know if you need a bag - especially as many other places/countries are vetoing plastic - and it adds no weight. They also wash wonderfully in the washing machine and look as new as the day I bought them. If you want to be aware of upcoming sales/new products, join their Facebook group! I was hesitant about going to their store after reading their older reviews but I have not experienced anything bad; I get in choose what I want and get out. The staff are never rude. These masks are so great. They fit perfectly (loops have adjustable straps). They fit over your nose and chin with separate flaps. There is a spot for a filter for extra protection. They're definitely my favorite masks. FURTHERMORE, I ordered a second set for my very elderly mother which I thought hadn't arrived. They refunded me with a smile. But we were wrong. They had arrived, but in her blindness (91 in an elderly home) she didn't see them. I tried to pay Baggu as they already refunded me. Love the product!! But the in-store experience is very unwelcoming. I've visited the store twice and every time the workers look so bothered that I'm there. They just sit behind the cash register on their phones, gossiping to each other. When it came time to checkout, they seemed annoyed that I had to talk to them? Lord I've been a lazy yelper. Albeit, a lazy yelper desperately trying to "go green." I've learned that going green takes work and sad to say, sometimes (okay most of the time) I don't separate my trash from my recyclables. Horrible? Yes. The end of the world? ...Sure, eventually. The earth's resources are being used at a rapidly increasing rate and changes need to be made, even if they're small ones. The other week I realized an entire cupboard in my kitchen was overflowing with brown bags from the grocery store, we are talking a couple hundred brown bags collected throughout the dawn of Trader Joes to overtake an entire cupboard. Something needed to be done. What am I going to do with all these brown bags?? Collect more? NO-I found Baggu. These nylon bags are cool, available in awesome colors, durable, reusable, easy to clean and hold what equals to 3 grocery store plastic bags. So, when asked the proverbial "paper or plastic" you actually have another choice. There's a lot of pretty bags in this town. I love looking at them. But I can't help but snicker a bit when I see folks toting around their expensive-but-made-to-look-tossed-off gear. Because if you're going to be an aesthetically-minded 21st century hipster, you're better off buying a Baggu bag than just about anything else. They're cheaper than a meal at the Wythe Hotel, they look great, and they're hella eco-friendly. I LOVE BAGGU. I just recently jumped on the baggu bandwagon. It took me a while, as I've heard about them months ago thru dailycandy.com but never took the resuable bag plunge (does it count that i've always wanted to use them??). What made me finally order (don't worry, I was planning to but just never made the effort) was because I always felt like I was being watched every time I bought something at uber-green-organic-sustainable-local-hippie-vegan New Leaf Market because I always asked for a bag. Mostly everyone goes bagless or brings in their own and I with the huge Vuitton totebag, leather jacket and skirts that aren't floor-length and flowy, always feel like the the girl who always takes 1 hour showers while everyone is done in 2 minutes. (Not true, my showers are pretty short) So after ordering 6 baggus for $38 (1 is $8, you get a deal with 6 on their website) in delicious, bold, American Apparel-style colors, I happily stored a neatly packaged-in-its-own-carrying-case baggu in my huge Vuitton and busted it out proudly because it was the day I didn't have to ask for a bag :) And turns out, New Leaf has some policy that for each bag you bring in to use, you get a donation ticket worth 10cents that you drop into a charity of your choice at the front of the store. read more

Got two bags which I immediately put into use. One as a grocery bag and the other as a carry all. Cost was CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP! One bag came from the reduced section. And shipping - five bucks! I was in the market for a weekend travel bag. I've heard many good things about BAGGU and found some nifty stuff on their website. Since I live in Brooklyn and I was planning to be in Williamsburg, I figured why not go into their store instead of ordering online & paying extra for shipping? The store is small, but beautifully sparse, which helps the colorful bags standout. The staff was very nice and I found exactly what I was looking for. Notably, the selection in their store is far less than what is on their website, so if you're looking for something specific, your best bet is to call the store first to see if they have it. I wanted to check out this store after seeing lots of their bags online. Living in NY, I live for reusable bags and lightweight purses. I also love to support local businesses. I went into today 8/25/16 and there were 2 sales girls. Neither of them greeted me or bothered to look away from their phone to look at me. I even tried on a few purses and not one word. They clearly don't work on commission. I love the product but I can't support sales people like them. Makes me not like shopping in pretentious Williamsburg. I get better friendlier service in the city in more upscale shops. If I absolutely need something I will purchase it online instead. read more

RE: The Bag Ban in SF Ah yes the plastic bag ban in San Francisco. Goodbye pink plastics with thank you written on them, goodbye white plastic supermarket bags, goodbye to you all. So what am I supposed to do? I used to use the plastic bags to line my trash cans, to drag my lunch to work in, to separate my shoes from my clothes when packing. Paper bags just don't work well for some of these uses. Now what? Haha baggu bags to the rescue! I ended up getting a set of 5 in multiple colors and I am so glad I did. Now I use the adorable reusable bags for everything. I scoff at people who offer me bags in the grocery store, because I have my handy dandy baggu in my purse. When I need extra hands to carry those library books baggu is there. I regularly turn down all kinds of bags now plastic or paper, because the baggu is so small and portable that I always have one around. This means when I get home no more 10 plastic bags to put away or recycle. The bags also hold twice as much as the average plastic bag and are more sturdy. I have used BAGGU bags for the past 10 years. There is always 2-3 of them in my shoulder bag. I consider them a necessity. For groceries they are fantastic easily hold 3 plastic bags worth of volume. I hate a lot of bags, and hate plastic bags. In the shopping mall, I always end up pulling one out to store the various little or big bags. The heavy items can rest on my shoulder so they are very comfortable and allows me to carry more. Can't leave home without them. And they are pretty I always get compliments. I am love with these bags. I have searched and searched for a viable alternative to bagging my purchases in store-provided plastic bags, but it is always such a hassle to a) remember to bring the damned thing; b) mess with it; and, c) deal with it being disgustingly dirty. These are small and lightweight enough you can actually stuff a few in your pocket, and they are small enough that they are not overwhelming. You can wash them, reuse them, and feel very proud about helping in some small way with the environment. read more

I got a cotton Duck bag - and I love it! I have been looking for a bag that would be simple in design but not too plain, and multitask from a couple of little items to a stack of books, and not cost three figures - and this is it. It's not one you can stuff in the bottom of your purse, it's made out of nice heavy cotton -they say recycled- that is promising to withstand all the abuse I usually shower on my poor bags. It is well made, got a shoulder strap AND regular handles that are the right size (so the poor thing is not being dragged on the ground). Best of all?- it's red! I know it sounds silly, but I love color red! Yet not all red is made equal- I feared I'd get some awful shade of red- but this one is a happy pioneer-red, yum! The two employees sitting there were too cool for school to even ask if I needed help. When I went over to them to pay for my purchase they looked at me as if I a nuisance. I have only owned my bag for several months and it looks 5 yrs old. unfortunately it has gotten very discolored from rubbing against my jeans. I was told by customer service I should have pretreated it before I used it, but I never received that pertinent information. Now I'm told after the fact, to bring it to a cleaners to get it properly cleaned. I'm very disappointed I wasn't informed about pre treatment, or that it wasn't done prior before they sent it out to me. read more
