Before I even realized what I had done, the team at Torino's reached out to me directly. Updating my review from Aug '23. Have continued to come here once a month or so. But the last two experiences where just bad. There is an older man and woman (who I think are the owners). They're both just miserable. He'll at least thank me for my business, but she-- good lord it's like she's doing me a favor and absolutely annoyed at my buying food from them. I've shared that with friends who go there and we all have the same stiff interactions. They have good italian food - have tried several things and their pizzas - good, fresh crust and I think they have one of the better sauces around. But money is tighter than ever and it would be nice to be treated as a valued customer, not an interruption or annoyance. I think the clincher for me this time was the italian hoagie I ordered. It was bizarre from packaging (non-recyclable styrofoam container over paper wrap) to a hoagie made by someone that clearly knows nothing about hoagies - Wawa does a better job. I asked for oil and vinegar - and they didn't put it on the roll which is traditional. So when I picked it up all this oil came spilling out of the sandwich because they put it on the meat and cheese. And I tasted no vinegar. The tomatoes weren't sliced, as is tradition, but diced. That's just a sin in hoagie etiquette. Same with the onion. I took the whole thing apart when I got home, got out my own vinegar and olive oil out, and made it the right way. Absolutely fantastic lunch with delicious food and attentive and friendly service. The owner checked on our table on several occasions to see if everything was okay. The antipasto platter was as beautiful as it was delicious. My wedding soup was hot and full of mini meatballs and escarole. My lemon chicken over a bed of angel hair pasta with capers was the best I ever had. My side salad was fresh and served with lemon juice and olive oil , simple and perfect. We picked up our pizza on a weekday afternoon. The restaurant was full and the place is really cute. The pizza was absolutely to die for. The large was huge with great toppings. We went here for dinner with a social group (large group but they will do separate checks) and had a good dinner though nothing exceptional. The sautéed calamari came in a red sauce. Though nicely tender, I was not a big fan of the sauce and it was served on a plate and not a bowl. Considering the amount and texture of the sauce, a bowl would have been more practical. The veal Parmigiana was one of the more expensive items on the menu. The portion of three medium slices of veal was generous but it was short on the amount of cheese. This was served with capellini which was way overdone. The salad was skimpy and the accompanying dressing was ketchup and mayo mixed. (It's not worth the trouble). The other option was the soup which my dining partner ordered. It was also disappointing. Service was provided by 1.5 servers which was way too small for this group which came to about 30 people. Toninos has been our go to pizza spot since moving to the area 4 years ago. Thin crust, bit floppy, good cheese to sauce ratio, on the greasier side. Ordered a pie today for the birds game and boy was I disappointed with the quality. Crust was thick and hard, cheese seemed different or just off, and pie was loaded with oregano. It was trash, no other way to say it. Not sure if they've recently changed owners or had staff turnover, but yikes. Seems like places have been watching to many One Bite reviews and are trying to produce a crisp crust. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a crispy crust as much as the next guy when it's a thin crispy crust, not a doughy sourdough-like exterior. Other items I've recently ordered were of poor quality and I decided while eating their slop tonight I'm done with this joint. Cheesesteak barely had any meat, meat it did have was rubbery like a Steak-umm , roll would have been bad when fresh, but this was clearly stale or frozen at some point. Like something you'd get from the bakery at Acme. Chicken Tenders are horrible, all breading and likely the cheapest frozen ones available. Most authentic Italian places make them homemade with fresh chicken breast, but clearly not done here. You can top off the meal with some soggy French fries too if you really hate your taste buds. Toninos is no longer flavortown for za. Maybe their grandma pie is still worth getting but I'll never know. Shame! read more

My daughter had the pasta and shrimp with Alfredo sauce, and and loved it. The pasta is made fresh at that location. She had their cheese cheesecake twice and said it was the best cheesecake she ever tasted. I had the chicken Philly cheesesteak and it was so good. I ate on it for about three or four days it was so huge. The prices are great for the quality you get. I would recommend this place very highly. The service is wonderful and if you go on the weekend, make reservations or get it to go, because it is very packed. I believe it's a family own place so everyone in town loves it. read more

I come here about 2/mo with a friend. Usually, the food is good. Today may have been an off day. My companion got the Italian wedding soup. It had little cubes of beef and collard greens. It was had a strong beef bullion taste and visually unappealing. Tasted awful. I had the Granny Smith salad that was supposed to come with blue cheese which was the only reason I got. it. There was no blue cheese on it at all. I asked the waiter for some blue cheese. She did bring out about a tablespoon size of absolute crumbs, not even worth it. The other dishes were fine. read more

Really enjoyed our visit at Tonino's last night 4/17/19. The service was good and the pizza was delicious. My friend, who lives in the area, knows how I love the grandma pizza and it's not readily available everywhere. She mentioned to me how she enjoyed it. I thought I would try it and glad we did. The restaurant is eye appealing and very clean. I liked the art on the wall and the use of space. They have, what appears to be 2 banquet areas in the back, that may be used for busy weekends at dining rooms. Now let's talk about the food! They have a lot of offerings on the menu but my eyes went right to the grandma pizza. Grandma is a specialty pizza and in the past I've had it , it usually takes a while to create, but not at Tonino's. It has a crispy thin bottom, garlic, (basil I think) cheese and dollops of delicious sauce. It was delicious and I enjoyed it very much. The price was reasonable at 16.50. You can't beat that price for two hungry diners for dinner and have yummy leftovers besides! Diners who were leaving the restaurant commented on our delicious pizza too. "Wow that looks delicious!" At the table a young man stopped by to check on us and asked how we enjoyed the pizza. We mentioned it was our first time. He said that the Grandma pizza was a "life changer". I must agree! I wonder if he knew I was a Yelper. I would definitely go back to Tonino's when in the area. My friend told me that grandma pizza is offered by the slice and that's uncommonly AWESOME!! read more

Excellent Italian food with attention to small details. I ordered the Sausage and Peppers with Spaghetti. The meals includes a simple house salad. The pasta is made fresh and you can tell. It is firm and chewy but fully cooked through. The sausage is also freshly ground. The filling was well flavored, smooth on the palate, and savory. The sauce was extremely oily and unctuous. It holds great aromatic notes of garlic and basil. It's an all around excellently prepared sauce. This is excellent homestyle Italian food. I plan on coming back for more. read more

This is some of the best pizza I've had in Pennsylvania. That means a lot coming from a NJ resident. Their grandma pie is delicious with a thin, crunchy crust and plenty of sweet sauce. Their regular slices are huge and also very good! In addition, the restaurant was properly social distanced and its beautiful inside with art and high ceilings. WOW!! On a recent business trip, working late in the hotel with a handful of others, we decided to send out for pizza. We came across. Toninos on a Google search. The menu looked awesome, so we decided to order. Right from the get go it was nothing but a positive experience. The person on the phone who took the order, the extensive menu, and the prompt delivery... All excellent!! We ordered a Sicilian pie, an 18 inch pizza with mushrooms, peppers and onions, and a half tray of Caesar salad. The food was fresh, plentiful, and was absolutely delicious. I wish I had pictures, but we began devouring everything as soon as the lids were off... Lol! As simple as the delivery order was, it was nothing but a great experience. Really just not good. So hard to find a good pizza in Malvern, and the struggle continues. Ordered a margherita pizza which was a one star disappointment. Heaps of bright red ok flavored sauce...no basil at all and some poor excuse for mozzarella in a few spots...clearly not fresh mozzarella. Clearly not really a margherita pizza. Ordered a bbq chicken pizza which was represented on the menu as chicken, bbq sauce and mozzarella. It was covered in onions which the party eating the pizza didn't eat. No where did the menu mention onions. One star for not mentioning that it has onions on the menu. Got the grandma's pie...that was actually ok...a 3/4 star pie. At least the pan treatment and oil made for a more flavorful and crispy crust. And an antipasto rustico , which was ok, but tiny for the price. Shame. This was the second time we tried it. First time was a year or two ago and not great either. Decided to try again due to the lack of options and based on all the good reviews. I have no clue how the reviews are positive. I hadn't found an good authentic Italian restaurant, so we would always trek to Vaughan when we wanted quick Italian eats. An excellent spot in Malvern. Ordered take out from here recently. They have a very expansive menu. Staff was very friendly and pries are reasonable. The Tonino's Salad was just okay for me, could've used some more cheese. We had the Penne Primavera (swapping out penne for angel hair pasta) which was fantastic, the pasta was so fresh. The pizza is excellent - flavorful, thin crust and a tasty sauce. Much better to have in the restaurant, it gets a little chewy for takeout. The pasta dishes are very ample proportions! The chicken piccata is very good - and the mountain of anger hair is dressed with the piccata sauce. I think they call it chicken w lemon and capers, but c''min... ;-). The chicken parm gets the job done as well - very hefty portion! The calamari w long hots was good, but a little under seasoned. The marinara made it work, but was really needed. We tried one of their specials - the tortelacci - big tortellini stuffed with meat in a cream sauce. This was excellent! We skipped dessert tonight but did look longingly at the cannoli coming out to other tables. I had promised my kids DQ across the parking lot. Next time! read more
