He has cut my sons' hair twice and he will be my barber now as well. He takes his time and the kids love going there.

I used to travel to Dover, NJ for haircuts, but I've found my forever barber right here locally. Great conversation, excellent service, and highly recommend!

The guy really knows what he is doing, is meticulous with his precision and listens to what you ask for which is pretty much all you can want in a barber. You can tell he cares about his clients. Haven't tried too many of the others, but staff is generally helpful from what I've observed. City Image uses an online booking system, Schedulicity I think it's called and is fairly easy to book and cancel/reschedule. You might need to book slightly in advance for appointments but the barbers usually have several openings so it isn't too hard to get your preferred barber. Parking can be a little tricky as with most places in this area. There's a lot in the back up the hill you can park at for a short time but tends to get full pretty quickly. The pricing is steep, and is more than I would expect to pay for a standard haircut. This location has also raised their prices a few times over last couple years, which I understand given the crazy inflation we've been having and it does cost a lot if you want to look good, but still a bit steeper than I'm comfortable with. I'd come more often if it was cheaper.

Plaza Barber Shop is a family-owned-and-operated, no-frills neighborhood barber shop that's been a…read morefixture in the Morristown community since 1929. Four generations of the Russo family -- Joseph (who's manned his chair at Plaza Barber Shop for 63 years!), Joseph's son Gerry, Joseph's daughter Rosemary, and Joseph's grandson Albert -- provide quality haircuts at a very reasonable price ($20 for a basic razor/scissor cut). The Russos have fostered a very casual and friendly environment in the shop as well as a strong relationship with their customers and the community at large. The family has been very involved with local community service, religious organizations, and youth athletics organizations throughout the years -- so expect to witness Gerry holding court from his barbershop chair and sharing his opinion on local politics and community affairs while trimming the hair of some of Morristown's most esteemed citizens (and me). I'll admit that I was reluctant to return to Plaza Barber Shop for a haircut during the COVID-19 pandemic out of an overabundance of caution. Since re-opening last June, Gerry, Albert, and Rosemary have done a great job adopting new policies and procedures to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 to their customers including sanitizing all furniture and equipment between customers, requiring all customers to call ahead for an appointment, making sure each customer completes a contact survey and sanitizes their hands upon arrival, installing floor-to-ceiling plastic sheets between each station, and requiring all employees and customers to wear facemasks while they're in the shop. These actions -- along with receiving my second COVID-19 vaccination -- made me feel comfortable enough to venture back into Plaza Barber Shop after a year of haircuts performed by my wife -- lifting a metaphorical and actual weight off my shoulders. Thanks for all you've done for the community and your customers!

As it had some good reviews and I was overdue for a haircut, I decided to give them a try. When we got there, there was no one waiting and was seated in a chair immediately. As I like it high and tight, that's what I asked for. Unfortunately there was a miscommunication between myself and the barber. When he asked if I wanted it a little longer on top I told him no. I was thinking he was going to leave the front a little longer and keep the rest of the top of my head short. Well I was wrong he kept everything SHORT. I wound up with a crew cut instead of a high and tight. But I would still recommend this place. It wasn't entirely his fault.

This is the place I go for a cut. Elvin is my barber. Great guy, friendly, professional &…read morepersonable. Place is always clean. There are tv's to entertain us customers. I'm always taken at my appointment time and if I do have to wait, it's not for long. I book online and usually pay ahead of time as I rarely carry cash. It's convenient.

We have been clients pretty much since first week they opened this location. We live right around…read morethe corner and always look to support locally first. We always book two cuts back to back. Yesterday, our usual had no openings so we went with Luis at 6:30 and 7:15. I don't want Luis to feel too bad about things because he is a newer barber and he did a nice job. Unfortunately, he took me a little late (maybe 6:45) which is fine but he didn't finish my cut until about 8:10. As it was approaching 8pm, I asked if he would have time to do the second appointment as well. He had no idea there was another appointment booked together. He said he's new and they didn't really train him on the system and he didn't see it. Totally understandable and he was very nice. He offered to stay late and do the other appointment but we really didn't have the time to stay until 9pm or later. I asked if instead he could refund me for the second appointment and we'd reschedule in the future. He again couldn't access the system which was fine, but he offered to leave a note and have the manager call me the next day. No problem. Nobody called me this morning so at about 11:30, I called in. After navigating the terrible automated answering system, I reached "somebody". I explained the situation and they seemed to know exactly what I was talking about (which tells me Luis did what he promised). I was told "that's not really how that works. You pay for the time in the chair and it's irrelevant how long the appointment takes, he offered to cut your hair and you decided not to. There's a 2 hour cancellation policy." I asked if I was speaking with the owner or manager, the person refused to identify themselves, told me they were busy with another client and said "if you want I'll refund you this time but in the future you have to cancel 2 hours ahead of time." I asked if there was a policy on an acceptable about of time to wait after the appointment time. They told me "I'm not going back and forth with you, I'm busy. You got your refund what else do you want? If you want to speak more about come down here and talk face to face." I asked who it was I should ask for when I come in and they said the front desk will know. I'm kind of saddened by the whole thing honestly. If there was even an ounce of professionalism or customer service mentality, we would have rescheduled and stayed as clients. I'm not sure how somebody would know at 4:30 that they wouldn't be able to get a haircut until 8:30. I don't know why the guy I talked to chose to be confrontational and act like we did something wrong. I do know, a barbers time is important. They deserve every dollar they get because it's a hard job especially starting out trying to build a clientele. Which is why we pay and tip ahead of time and then slip an extra $5 in cash after the cut as well. I appreciate Luis, and Erika because they have been nothing but nice to us. But a client's time is important too. If a mistake is made by the barber and it results in us not being able to sit for the cut, then it shouldn't be a guilt trip and a veiled threat of violence in order for us to get a refund. Sadly we won't be back
