I had Leonardo and he took his time with me until I was completely satisfied with the cut. Clippers, scissors, electric razor, straight edge razor... he did it all. Overall the place is clean, everyone is friendly, and they accept credit cards which I appreciate and have found to be somewhat rare in barbershops. Could not be more disappointed. To start it off everyone not cutting hair was sitting slouched in their barber seats on their phone with almost no greeting. To start - JOEL did not sweep up any of the hair from the gentlemen whose hair he cut and beard he shaved from the appointment before my sons. He then continued to use the SAME apron to cover my son that he just used prior on a client who had his beard trimmed. But I need to say, though the haircut itself was not bad, my requests were not met in the slightest bit. I told JOEL I did not want any of my son's length cut (he's almost 4 and has had his long curls since about 1). I asked for him to shape up the sides and only trims the bangs for a subtle mullet. If Joel wasn't too busy trying to make small talk with me (while I was also on the phone with my manager) he would have been able to pay a little more attention. I also DID stop him during it and said you're not cutting the back right and he replied with no. I'm not so much disappointed with the haircut, I'm sure someone would have loved it that asked for it, but certainly disappointed with the lack of care and attention to details. I did ask how much I owed him, he said nothing, so I left a $20 tip for the time spent. What is truly the dirtiest part of this for me, which is why I am writing a review, which I have not on any platform since 2017 is because...... AFTER I left and had my apt it was canceled on their end. The only reason this would be done from a customer service point of view is so I can't leave a bad review. Dirty play my friends. But I providing proof that it was cancelled approximately 5 minutes after I walked out of the door. I am not that particular about my hair so I will tend to go to different barbershops based on convenience. Went to High End today and got a haircut from a guy who initially I thought was the receptionist. Still not convinced he isnt and wondering if he just decided to experiment on my head. Worst haircut I've ever received my head is lopsided. I left there with a drenched head of hair and I'm convinced he didn't dry it so I would not see what it would look like dry! At no point during the entire haircut did he actually face me towards the mirror. Let alone ask me if it was OK. Maybe he didn't want me to see what a mess he was making of the job. My advice don't go there it's a crapshoot judging from my experience and the other reviews I'm reading. PS. Needed a new place, liked the look, liked the website. Big disappointment. First, I was sent downstairs to what looked more like a storage area than a "grooming lounge." I had scheduled (and paid for) the "high end service" which included a haircut and a shave. The first sentence on the website says "sit back and enjoy a stimulating and revitalizing shampoo..." But, there was no shampoo. The barber just started cutting. I can't remember the last time I had a cut without a shampoo, but now I'm in the chair and he's cutting. I'm not the type to complain, so I let him keep going. Not the worst cut, but not the best, either. Same for the subsequent shave: No blood, but certainly not great, either. When I got there, they asked if I wanted an apprentice barber. I was hesitant and I showed a picture of the cut I wanted. They were like, "No problem, he can do that." So I agreed. So he starts cutting my hair and it's fine. He's taking a super long time with it but I think, he's a beginner, it's fine. Anyway, he finishes the front of my hair and it's perfect. I said to him, that it's the exact length I want it. He says "Good, I just want to even it a little." And he proceeded to remove another half inch. It looks awful now. Same with the sides. The person who asked if I wanted an apprentice said "as long as you're not going down to skin, it's fine." I wasn't going down to skin but the barber did. I would give this ZERO stars if I could. I took my young sons there bc the place they usually go to was closed and I was in a pinch. I will NEVER do this again. I was very specific with what I wanted done to my kids hair. I was also extremely clear that I did not want them to use a razor for either of my boys bc they hate it and it makes them nervous, I went as far as saying "if you think you need to use the razor then we will go somewhere else", they assured me that they did not need to. I asked for them to just "clean it up" as my boys both have hair on the longer side. Instead, both of these barbers just did what they wanted. My older son did not get a bad haircut, but he did not get the hair cut I requested (which was extremely simple). My younger son was in the chair for about 40 mins (something that should have taken about 10 mins) with a frustrated barber bc he kept moving around. At one point I said we need to be done, this does not need to be perfect. He ignored me and kept going and then he got frustrated with ME bc my son kept moving around and the barber wanted to use the razor on his neck. I reminded him that he couldnt use the razor, to which he responded with "this is the longest haircut ever. Its going to take me an hour if I dont use the razor". My son started to cry, I said this haircut is over, just leave the back as is. The front of his hair is too short, the actual haircut took twice as long as it should have, and no one listened to a thing I said. NEVER AGAIN. read more

I had to find a new barbershop and ended up going with High End to try it out and see how it went. I was nervous to go, but as soon as I stepped through the door all of that nervousness evaporated. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. My barber was JP and let me tell you, this guy is EXTREMELY talented. He cut my hair EXACTLY how I wanted, it was like he could read my mind. He takes his time and pays attention to even the most minute of details. I have been going back to JP ever since and don't see myself stopping anytime soon! read more

Five stars go to Rob and 3.5 stars to the barbershop. Recently I have been coming here because my main barber is transitioning to a full-time job and setting up her own studio. I am a very picky person when it comes to selecting a barber. I had tried two other barbers in this barbershop, but the result was very bad. I found out quickly after a couple of times that Rob is the best one here. He is professional, detailed oriented and his cutz come out almost perfect. However, I do believe there is some room for improvement. I feel sorry for my main barber as I may end up keeping Rob. I like the place, the decorations, the brick wall, but I still don't think the name is suitable. I haven't yet feel the High End. Perhaps the only High End thing on this place is the price. Also, did they just charge me SALES TAX on my hair cut? I am an accountant and I think that is WRONG because it was just a service and I did not buy any tangible product. If you guys are gonna be charging sales tax on the service for a hair cut at least please update your tax rate. It is NO longer 7%, google it and you will see it is now 6.625% This is why I think I paid sales tax. Cut is $28 and my debit card was charged $29.96 7% of 28 = 1.96 1.96 + 28 = $29.96 You do the math, next time I will ask for a receipt. read more

Alex does an awesome job every time I come in (which is not often enough). Probably the most important part about the experience is that he remembers who I am and what I like. No need to explain what I want from scratch; we always build on what we did last time and work from there. Walk ins are accepted, but if you're looking for a particular barber you might wait for a while - just make sure they know who you are waiting for and ask if there's someone in line ahead of you. If you come in as a walk in they'll usually tell you if you have enough time to grab a coffee. The online appointment system can be finicky - make sure you get a confirmation and when you arrive make sure to let the barber you're coming for know that you are there. The other barbers have a pretty steady flow of clients who look pretty good when they finish. read more

Felt unheard, left with a not bad haircut but not what I was asking for, when you say your growing your hair out and they take 2 inches off your hair it's easy to be passed off. You trust these people with your first impression you present, and you can't be bothered to think, listen, and communicate it astounds me, I have had good service here before, but this was awful. I drove home, issuing a litany of curses. I go here and spend more because I don't want to risk screw-ups and you can't be bothered to spend more than 20 minutes on a haircut I had two requests for my haircut and you couldn't be bothered to do one of them. I can't look in a mirror without feeling alien and getting angry, coming home from dropping 60 dollars on a haircut to feel the need to immediately put on a hat is absurd. Detestable experience. You need to be one thing in this line of work, reliable, and they are not that, I've had great service here before, but they can't unfuck up I hope I can reach a point where I come to terms with how I look before my hair grows back. First time getting a haircut here. Got a gift card for a haircut, beard trim and pedicure. The haircut and beard trim turned out great from JR. I'm not used to getting pedicures and the day after shows why. I'm a little sore and I was cut on one of my toes during the pedicure. I only hope that the utensils and bowl were sterile since I didn't see the untensils taken out of the package or the bowl cleaned before I got there. read more

Overpriced place that doesn't deliver on its promise. Alex S. Has really messed up on my hair twice now. I know he has good reviews and that's why I first chose him. But maybe cause he's always busy or just not trying his haircuts are now garbage. First he cuts in like 15 mins, which I don't care how good you are. You can't cut a solid solid fade that quick. Then he has missed two large areas on the fade that I only noticed when I went home. I have like a short fade with a hairy ass right side burn. The other time is was a similar thing. read more

I have been debating whether or not to write this review for the past couple of days. Ultimately, I've decided it best to do so. On Sunday, I received a scissor cut from a barber who shall remain nameless here. It is the fourth time I have seen him. This time, he was not at his best. Only a couple of minutes into the haircut, I felt a little twinge if pain. Sure enough, I came to learn that the barber had sliced a pretty deep chunk of skin clean off the edge of my ear. It was bleeding quite profusely and took a good solid hour to get it to stop completely. Given its depth I suspect I will be left with a scar. Obviously, it was an accident, and the barber was apologetic. What recourse does one have for such an incident? I don't know. That being said, the point of this review is that THESE GUYS IN GENERAL DO NOT WANT TO USE SCISSORS. This is a buzz cut only establishment. Do not get your hair cut here if you prefer a scissor cut. They don't have the time for that, and maybe don't possess the skill. Perhaps it is a lost art after all. read more

Read this review in Samuel Jackson's voice. This is the worst monkey fighting haircut and mother flipping beard trim I've ever had. You never know just how bad it is until you get home. This is the second time I've been to this hack shop - the first time the haircut was okay - I am not talking good, I am talking a 10 footer, where your hair looks good from 10 feet away, but when you get close you can see that the fade is uneven, there were stragglers left, and overall not a $40 haircut. This time is so unacceptable I am leaving a 1 star review because quite frankly, this is one of the worst cuts I've had in years. The fade is awful. Terrible. Amateur hour. I believe this may have been this kid's first day on the job. In fact, when I saw the victim before me that left his chair I said to myself DO NOT LET THIS GUY CUT YOUR HAIR. But, I figured maybe he just had an off-instance. WRONG! My hair is jacked, he screwed up my long beard (thankfully it's long enough that the missing chunk will grow back and as long as I never look up in front of somebody nobody will notice) and now I have to go waste another afternoon to go to a proficient barber who can fix this abhorrent display of incompetence that resides on top of my monkey fighting head. 0 stars. Look elsewhere. If you're willing to go into NYC, I recommend Rafael's. That's where I am heading to get this fixed. While I appreciate the offer, fool me once shame on you. If you like being ignored and treated poorly by arrogant young men, then "High End" is the place for you. If you want to have your haircut by a dude who couldn't care less about you, then I would highly recommend this place. When I arrived there today, there were two barbers cutting hair, and two people waiting. I was greeted, not with welcoming words, but with a question suggesting I was lost or in the wrong place: "Are you looking for someone?" the barber asked with a scowl. I replied, "No, I'm looking for a haircut." He directed me to an ipad, and told me to check in. However, the iPad battery was dead, and it was not plugged in. No one would help me. No one would fix the iPad. No one would even look at me at this point. I left to get lunch and, afterwards, decided to give them another chance. This time, there were no customers, and two different barbers. One was sitting in a barber's chair staring at his phone with a grimace. The other was sweeping hair. I was not welcomed to the shop. There was not happy greeting or smile. But there was every indication that the barbers were annoyed by my presence. They seemed to feel that I was somehow undeserving of their attention. Again, I was directed to the iPad with a stern, cold command. I observed that the iPad was now working, and the two barbers responded with synchronized eye rolling. I started to check in on the iPad, and then thought better of it. I, for one, would not trust any of these young men with a pair of scissors. I've never written a review on Yelp or any other website. I agree with most people who complain about having to find a new barber shop when they move to a new place. 75% of new places I try give me haircuts I don't like. Luckily, I'm glad I found this place, and a stylist, Eva, to give me some of the best haircuts I've had in a long time. I'm Indian, so with my black hair, it's hard to adopt styles easily (think David Beckham). Eva had learnt to style Indian hair (I didn't know it was a thing!) so she's really comfortable with using scissors to give me a look that suits my profile. Pros: - Stylist spends time and effort to give you the best cut. - They speak with you for a few minutes before starting. - Good, clean haircut Cons: - High end prices- for about 25, you don't even get a shampoo - Pretty crappy wait times. However, I've never gone to this place because there's another barbershop in town that I've been loyal to for the past few years. That barbershop lost my loyalty the other day when I came in at 6pm for a haircut and they were closed...they claim to be open til 7pm... Anyway, I gave this place a shot and couldn't be happier. Atmosphere was very pleasant, but more importantly I was extremely happy with my fade from Alex. Price for the standard cut without all the "extras" is $23, which is actually a buck less than the other place I was going. Will be back again! It was my first time getting my hair done here, and yeah it took them a while to get to me, but the guy did a great job and took his time and pained attention to all the details, though I was the last customer and he was tired and all.
