I went in for a standard men's haircut. I came here because their website said they would wash my hair after. The place i previously went to did not and I would return to my office leaving a trail of hair everywhere. My experience was great. I got a complimentary back massage as it was my first time there. I was seen shortly after I arrived. The stylist did a good job and knew the right questions to ask to get my hair right. Not sure its worth the high price, but hard to find anything cheaper around here. read more

Will never step foot in this place again. Unprofessional. Clipped my ear, didn't brush the hair off of my face when done. Hair stylist admitted she wasn't knowledgeable on how to use a razor to lineup the hairline mid haircut and offered to find another barber to do it. The receptionist told me after the haircut that it was an often complaint. Ridiculous Completely disappointed. Thankfully they didn't charge me. I can't say enough about 18-8's service. Long story longer, another salon canceled my appointment the morning of my wedding because they booked me with the wrong stylist and I was frantically searching for a hot towel and head shave appointment. I was lucky enough to find an opening at 18-8 with Christina and she made sure I received my treatments and made it back in time for pictures even though we were cutting it close. You could imagine I was a nervous wreck but she and the whole staff put me at ease. I would definitely recommend them! read more

I just visited the Morristown location for the first time and couldn't be happier with the quality of service and my total experience . Easy location to find and large parking structure right around the corner made it easy to get to. Place was super clean and had a nice selection of products . Offers water and snacks . My stylist was Ariana and she was top notch . Friendly and very focused on assessing what I was looking for and my preferences . Spent plenty of time with me - wash , cut , and I also upgraded and did some color which I was very pleased with as well . DO NOT GET YOUR HAIRCUT HERE!! I went in looking to get a trim. I wanted a high and tight with a fade starting at a .5 the barber shaved the side of my head .5 all around. I asked if they could salvage it in any way but when I walked out of there I ended up looking like I had a toupee on my head. Thankfully the people at Bloom Salon was able to salvage it a little. But the most disappointing part of this experience was the barber didn't even apologize. read more

I've read the older reviews from 2017. Seems that the place really improved their customer service since then. It shows. My haircut was long overdue, and Dan took care of me. I booked online. Easy process. I came in with an unruly undercut side part. I was very happy with Dan's skill and expertise in fixing my hair and explaining what he did at the end of the session. Also loved the recommendations he made in regards to hair styling products. I bought a tin of the Ruezel Matte Pomade. Works great and feels great. Would highly recommend their service. read more

I just moved to parsippany area recently from Chicago. I spent days reading reviews on yelp. Every place had its mixed reviews. Then one day on my Facebook, i got a suggestion for this place. the positive reviews outweighed the negative ones. so I though i would give this place a try. This place was really awesome. The staff greeted me well, made sure i was comfortable and helped with all the questions regarding my hair cut. I had my haircut and bread trimmed by Scott. Instead of me giving the Scott directions on how I wanted my haircut, I asked him to give me a haircut which goes well with my face cut and he didn't disappoint. I came out of the salon happy. I've been looking for a new stylist for some time now. The one I had been going to for years has moved out of state. I've been to ProHaircutters, SuperCuts, The Lounge and High End in Motown (each a few times). There's a wide variety in price range and services of these salons. I've been to 18|8 twice. First cut was with Gina, the second with Jennifer. Both are experienced, fine hair stylists. Jennifer did a great job not only with my haircut, but also with eyebrows and beard cleanup. 18|8 is a smaller salon vs. Pro/Super/HighEnd - you're not in an open "pit" of cutters with scattered hair clippings (not that there's anything wrong with that!). It's a newer shop, and I like the "feel" and atmosphere. The place was clean each time i visited. I'm happy with and recommend 18|8 - I plan on coming back. read more

My first visit and 18|8 did not disappoint. From the moment I walked in, I was pampered by the friendly and welcoming staff. I didn't have to wait at all unlike some other places where you make an appointment and they still make you wait. Not so here. The few short minutes I was at the waiting area I was offered refreshments and such. Jennifer was my hairstylist and not surprisingly, she was great. They have you remove your shirt and change into a robe to prevent getting cut hairs or color stains on your shirt (if you get coloring done like I did). The haircut and style was perfect, followed by a hot towel treatment. After this pleasant experience, she even gave me a complimentary clean up card to use in a couple of weeks to touch up my hair. I travel for my barber services, especially a good shave so my interest was peeked when a higher end salon opened up in Morristown. The town is desperate for this kind of thing. I decided to have a haircut. Lets be right the cut was very good, no complaints there at all. But the packaging of it with a wash and a dry wasn't really applicable. Felt this was done to justify the cost, I was never offered just a cut? My main issue was feeling comfortable, the ambiance was too formal, it was very hard to relax. A big point of emphasis when I have a shave. A men's salon is needs to be more laid back but with the high standards of stylist maintained. The set up is very closed and not open plan, I think this plays into the stiff atmosphere. The pushing of products and a further appointment was the piece i disliked the most. If the service is good enough I'm bound to return. All in all a very good cut but have reservations over the overall feel of the place. To be convinced but has potential. read more

I had a great experience at 18|8. From the moment I walked in the door I was greeted by the one of the staff that offered me water and coffee while I waited to be seen by my hairdressing. (Flo) she was so nice, took the time to go over the hair style I was looking for. I also got a shave and a manicure. This was the first time I've ever hade a these services done. The experience was amazing my face was so soft and my nails looked great. All in all the hole experience was excellent from the staff to the facility. I've been a customer for over a year now, but unfortunately today is my last day. All the barbers /stylists in the Morristown location have ranged from ok to excellent, but the last two times I felt rushed and uncomfortable. It all went downhill about 5-6 weeks ago when I came in for a beard trim and haircut ($65 btw). The barber did an excellent job, but I constantly saw the manager staring him down and giving him the " look at the time" signal. The manager was hovering around the shop the whole time and made sure the front desk added a surcharge because it took a bit longer then normal. The second time I went in for a very quick 5-10 minute clean-up ($20). 5 minutes in , the same manager makes a comment to the barber that I'm now getting haircut. It made me feel uncomfortable and not like a valued customer. I thought with their high prices they would take their time and make every customer feel important but not it's not the case. Plenty of barber shops with better prices and better service. read more

Don't be mislead by other overwhelmingly positive reviews--my first (and last) visit to 18|8 was a major disappointment. Based on what I had read ahead of time, I was very excited to give this place a try. However, from the moment I walked in, I was suspect of the reviews I had read online. The place felt dirty and the staff seemed amateur. The quality of the haircut I received was sub-par at best. I was not offered a "guarded razor shave on the nape of the neck" as described on their website as part of the classic haircut. The only differences between 18|8 and a budget chain barbershop like SuperCuts is the high price tag and the fact that they offer you refreshments while you wait. I believe this is new franchise that got opened in Morristown. I took an appointment for hair cut and hair color. My appointment was a bit late in the evening after hours. Got there late due to office work delay. I was happy that they over stayed the official closing hours which for sure a rare gesture to the customer. My hair stylist and colorist was the same person. I forgot her name but she is a bit elderly women with loads of experience in this field as she mentioned that she has been doing it since many years. I liked her hair cut but her skills on the coloring was not as great as I thought it would be. Coloring is a challenge for sure, I rarely find someone whose good at doing coloring without messing it up. Yet to find the perfect hair colorist though! My search is still on going...
