The bid we received was lower than the other 3 companies we asked for estimates. The crew of 6 showed up at 7:00 am on the appointed day and immediately started working. The owner, Raul Ramos, answered our questions and was very professional and polite. They only stopped working once for a short lunch break. They worked until the entire job was completed which was around 7:00 pm. Our yard is completely transformed. Not only did they install the watering system and the lawn but they raked under our large Cedars and put fresh compost down in the flower beds. I would hire this company again in a heartbeat and highly recommend them for anyone who needs landscaping done.

They know native plants vs. non-natives, what weeds are most important to tackle, etc. * If you don't have a perfect idea of what you're looking to do with your garden, they will take the time to talk with you and walk you through that process. If it's been a while since you last asked them to come by but you don't know what to ask that they do, you can just say "Help!" and they'll do a great job. * They are very respectful when it comes to working with a specific budget and never try to upsell services. * Stefany and the crew are respectful, considerate, and just plain good people. I get a ton of compliments on my garden. I was out getting my mail the other day and two people were walking down the sidewalk and I saw one of them point to my yard and say to their friend "I wish I had a garden like that!" Throughout our brief relationship, I tried to give these guys the benefit of the doubt, but simple questions were met with the aggressive attitude you see below. Mine is not the only review to indicate this level of unprofessional behavior following service that was incomplete. I definitely do not make a habit of negative reviews (this would be my first and only to date), but I did want to do my best to provide what I feel to be a fair recap of my experience with Essential Gardeners in case any others find it of use. I certainly wish I had paid more attention to the review that was so similar to my experience. I stand by my one star review. I acknowledge that some work was done and therefor did not go down a path of "if I could give no stars..." However there is no part of me that could recommend this company to another.

John knew exactly what I was talking about when I wanted to reseed my lawn with "shade-friendly" seed, and made the right recommendation to *not* lay down completely new sod, but instead to rejuvenate the lawn (aerating, thatching to remove moss, roughing up soil to create a better seed-bed, adding fertilizer, adding lime to balance soil PH, reseeding, and top dressing with peat). My lawn has never looked better. John's team also did a full clean-up of my yards. Everything looks great now. Highly recommend John for your landscaping needs.

Treesus was one…read morecompany referred by the manager at Covington Creek Nursery when I asked if they knew someone who could layout and plant our Ten Trails home's front and back planter areas. We chose the plant types we wanted and Mario did all the rest of the work. He gave us a plan for how he would lay everything out, then followed that with his free written estimate together with a list of the quantities of each plant we should acquire to complete his plan. His bid also included his estimate of the amount of mulch I would need. I went back to Covington Creek Nursery to purchase the plants which I then had them place on hold for pickup by Mario. When Mario arrived for the job, he had his wife with him and they both worked very efficiently and professionally, removing certain plants and planting the plants I'd purchased. The entire job was beautifully completed within the original estimate and within the 2-days quoted. Cleanup was performed quickly and thoroughly. Bottom line, I'm looking forward to using Mario again on any future landscape improvements. He's a great communicator and definitely true to his word.
