The major reason I went was to get the peach cobbler. They were out of both peach and cherry cobbler. Boo hoo . The barbecue sauce was delicious. I wasn't impressed by the dry rub. The chicken was dry and tough. I got the ice cream dessert since there were no cobblers. The molded chocolate that held the ice cream was good. I wasn't impressed by the ice cream itself. It was pretty tasteless and not as creamy as I would have liked. On top of everything else, I had to pay $15 to park my own car in order to get the food. I did takeout, but the place looked nice. What's going on with these guys. I brought a Cheeseburger with fries that was terrible, burger and fries were both overcooked. This is the second time this summer. I think they did it because on their receipt they were asking for a 15 percent tip. I didn't leave one and the guy behind the counter had an attitude. After seeing many ppl bringing Tony Luke's to their room at the Tropicana, we decided to make a visit. Their buffalo chicken pizza was so good. It really hit the spot. Loved the outdoor seating with the view of the boardwalk and the beach. Minus 2 stars because one of my friends' eye was hurting and needed a piece of ice, but they asked us to pay for it. We started talking about Philly cheese steaks and how you have to order saying "Whiz" or "No Whizz". I'm from New York, Whizz? What the F are you talking about?! However, they explained the Italian Steak sammy with Broccoli Rabe and melted Provolone?? Now you're talking about Brotherly Love! Located behind the Tropicana Hotel on the boardwalk is Tony Luke's. There are outside tables to enjoy your "sangwich". Ordering is a snap, walk up to the counter and watch them assemble your cheesesteak. My cheesesteak is complete and its too cold to sit outside. The bar area has tables where you can eat as well as people watch. The broccoli rabe along with the provolone work well together. The actual cheesesteak meat? Its thin and dried out too quickly. It was a sandwich that I had to work thru to finish, it wasn't enjoyable. I know, the original Tony Luke's would never dry out the meat! Yeah.. even if it was cooked perfectly, this is a three ingredient sandwich! I don't care if you were on Daryl's House making this meal, I wasn't impressed. So I came, I saw and I conquered a Tony Luke's Italian Cheese steak. And what type of Italians invented this concoction?? The same Italians eating maple shoo fly pies?! We have an extended stay here at the Tropicana as we are here opening up a new restaurant. We decided to grab Tony Luke's for dinner one night since it was easily accessible & we've hit most other restaurants inside already. We got two chicken cutlet hoagies. Both were made fresh to order & were hot... but mine was made wrong. The hoagie has American cheese, mayo, lettuce, and tomato. I asked to sub provolone (I just really do not like American cheese), add raw onions, and sweet peppers. I knew the sweet peppers were an extra charge and didn't care if the onions would be extra too, because I wanted them. My sandwich came out with just cheese, onions, and peppers. So I went back in and nicely asked for some mayo, lettuce, and tomato. It honestly became a whole ordeal and was very embarrassing to me. In the end, I did not get any of it and was told that it was my fault for ordering incorrectly. They did not try to make it right in any way. Asking for my receipt to show me what I ordered and to tell me "that my order was correct". Obviously there was a miscommunication somewhere, okay that's fine. & I work in the hospitality industry as a server so I understand how people try to get stuff for free all the time, so I get it. But to deny even just a side of mayo for my $15 sandwich, was way overboard. The worst part is how upset and mean the cook got over me asking for the ingredients that should have been included on my sandwich. It's not my fault the cashier made a mistake when ringing me up. I ended up crying when I got out of there because it made me feel very poorly how they acted! I am really sensitive some days, but just the way his face looked when he spoke really dug into me. The sandwich was okay, but definitely would have been way better with some sauce. I had to eat my sandwich "dry"... and I'm a girl who loves my sauces. Also, I left them a monetary tip before I realized all this would happen... and it's really not the type of restaurant that most people would even top at-- it's basically fast food. I really wanted to go back in and ask for my top back, but I didn't. I was skeptical about a cheesesteak place inside of what's basically a casino hotel food court and was expecting a greasy, soggy, bland, unappetizing mess of sandwich. To my surprise, this place rocks and is completely worth checking out. The cheesesteak uses top notch meat, fresh bread, and isn't greasy at all. Get it with provolone and onions. The sandwiches are huge so you could easily split one with someone unless you're ultra hungry. It does take a little while to get your food but it is worth the wait. The fries aren't bad either but they went a little heavy on the Old Bay seasoning. I'd come back here for sure but will split a sandwich next time. read more

You would assume that when they see you standing in front of the counter they would automatically greet you. Seems they use quality ingredients. The bad : prices higher than most other boardwalk cheesesteak places and portions (meat) were smaller . We went 2 consecutive days and they screwed up my sandwich both times : First time I ordered pork with broccoli rabe and got spinach. Second day I ordered chicken parm and there was no sauce on it. Used to be good pizza-not any more. Buyer beware, check your prices and ask questions! The guys on Friday afternoon, 4/22/22, made up their own prices apparently. We arrived for slices just as they took a fresh pie from the oven - we asked if we could have 2 if those hot fresh slices, the guy said no, as he slipped the pan under the counter where they keep the pies to sell as slices (not into a customer box) - he said no, so we had to buy the cold slices that were on top of the display. They were dry, so I asked him to put a little fresh sauce on top to freshen them up. He never spoke, but added a spoon on top of each one, popped in oven, then went to the register and announced $13.75. I paid, not receiving a receipt, not questioning the high price, but then checked the menu again and saw special slice (my mushroom) $5.25, regular (daughter's plain ) $4.50. Mental math was telling me even with approx 7% NJ tax the total should have been about $10.45-ish. So I asked how the price went up, and the guy said you have to pay $1.35 for the sextra sauce on each slice ($2.70!) so $13.75. Still doesn't add up, and 1.35 each for a blob of sauce to freshen up a dry slice was way high! Plus, they ridiculed us, laughing openly, talked over us loudly, and mocking us in a different language to the other workers. In English they yelled, this is NJ - you have to pay for everything. (I'm a Jersey girl born & raised) Pay, yes, get ripped off, no. I mentioned hea should have told me he was going to add $2.70 to the price for 2 spoons of sauce. So. Total take: Rude, surly, argumentative, unskilled in math, pizza, and customer service, overpriced, no receipt. Watch your money, and ask if they're going to pad your bill. I haven't had many cheese steaks so I can't compare how authentic these are, but just as a sandwich, I found it good, not great. There are banners throughout the restaurant and wall print that state celebrity reviews and endorsement from the Food Network so I figured the positive praise made this a worthwhile option. We ordered classic cheese steaks, one with Kraft cheez wiz and the other with provolone. For 10$ (no combo) a sandwich I found the price a bit much, especially when we asked for grilled onions and there were quite stingy. The meat was super greasy and my bread was just dripping, I don't think this was intentional, so I suggest you eat it on the spot and fast otherwise it becomes a soggy mess. Plus side, this is a fast food joint, they have a terrace overlooking the boardwalk and beach directly so it's a nice spot for lunch. Since we stayed at the Tropicana hotel we chose this restaurant mostly for convenience, and felt a little ripped off. Note- theres a pizza joint that shares the same space and a slice comes up to 5$ after taxes. That's how we realized how inflated prices were. read more

The wait wasn't bad for it being a place were you are getting food and these places are always packed. The mozzarella sticks were really good, had some extra grease so hurt my stomach but at then end of them i didnt matter bc they were delicious. He ordered two cheesesteaks (beef) and an order of plain fries. After a five minute walk home he arrived with the food piping hot. The fries were great reminding me of McDonald's fries before they 'improved' them. The cheesesteaks consisted of very gristly meat. Located at the AC boardwalk/Tropicana, we stopped here after the beach. We ate at the outdoor tables, ordered inside. The atmosphere is what you would expect on the boardwalk. The service was okay. On one side is Perry's pizza, and we got plain cheese slices which were very cheesy and good. On the other side (Tony Luke) a few in our party ordered the Philly cheesesteak and reported it was tasty. It's a good stop for what it is, although a bit pricey. read more
