So I walk in corner door to Trop and see Chickie and Pete's and me, Foo, jonesing for a beer and fries. Foo sits at bar. "What'll it be buddy?" "Ni hao, I am Foo! I'll have a Yuengling draft beer and the Crab Fries! Are they like Burger King chicken fries but with crab?" "No, seasoned French fries with cheese." "Sounds so yum, xie xie!" The beer was the coldest beer I have ever had. Foo was going to compliment the bartender for his coldest beer in town but he seemed too busy to be told something he knows but Foo wanted to be nice. When Crab Fries come there were two sauces. "What flavors are the sauces?" "Cheese." "And the other sauce?" "Cheese." "What flavor of cheese," "Same as the other one." As I started to ask about Old Bay the bartender walked away. Foo knows that Foo is too much some days but I only want to be appreciative customer. When I pay and leave good grat like cash on barrel, Foo waves bye to bartender. He moves his head a slight bit to reciprocate the good bye. I went on Father's Day weekend so there was a lot of people in AC but this place never disappoints regardless of the crowd. They are located in the Tropicana but you can get to it from the boardwalk. I've stayed at the Trop a few times but never ate here until recently. Good to know it's another good place to eat! They have two levels and they have nice boardwalk view seating upstairs and downstairs. During the season the outdoor seating is also open on the ground level. They are also open all year round for lunch and dinner. The food was good and they are famous for their crab fries. I was with a small group everything everyone ordered was good. The food is as good as the original in Philly and the craft beer list on tap was amazing. They had everything from the traditionals, to the locals (Yards, Troegs), to great NJ options (Kane, Carton, Icarus, Cape May), to top notch craft breweries like Tires Hands. There are tons on flat panel tvs and big screens, so you can watch the games from every angle and just about every main event on schedule. The menu is expansive and full of seafood, burgers, wings and Philly steak options! I opted for the Lobster Crab fries and Buffalo wings (fried hard mandatory)! Both were on point with the crab fries being the star....a delicious plate of crispy crinkled fries, loaded and topped with garlicky butter-poached lobster and this salacious cheez wiz sauce. The wings were just as good as well. They were cooked perfect with this tangy, spicy Buffalo sauce that melded well with the crispy meat on the the wings....bone crunching and sucking good!! lol. It was almost as if we weren't there and that's pretty rough being that it wasn't crowded at all. My wife and I got unsweetened iced teas and the water it was in was just horrendous. Almost like bad quality tap water. Brutal after taste. We also had our two boys with us. So we ordered a few appetizers and guess what? Yep, five minutes later, our main course was right behind. I'll never understand how that can happen. It's not that hard to spread out, especially on a slow night. The Buffalo Chicken nachos were very solid. I got the Cheesesteak with lobster on top. Lobster was not fresh. Not even close. There was a stale consistency to it. For the price, it was just unacceptable. This location has a great location along the boardwalk and also had little to no wait on a Friday for lunch. Their menu is standard bar and grill food, but the food quality was nothing special. It's good for large groups with all the open seating and wide menu selection and the staff was helpful since they were not busy with other customers. He had to come back and write our order down as he could not find the seafood items in the POS. Out of oysters then. Fries came, then clams about 20 minutes later about 40 minutes later we asked about the chicken sandwich. He gave us a togo box and took it off the bill. Then it came out about 30 seconds later. By that time my wife was full from beer and fries. I tried a piece. Worst, cheapest soggy chicken patty I ever had. Three people next to us cancelled their order and left.
