Went in with my best friend to have us both get acrylic sets and a pedicure. I had a reference photo of a set THEY DID. At first the shape and length was good but then she just kept adding acrylic. When I mentioned how thick it was, she said she's file them down (never did) and when she applied the color I pointed out it didn't match. She told me it "would dry darker "; it never did. PLEASE do NOT get your lashes done here. I am a beginner lash tech and I had a friend of mine ask me to remove a lash set that she had gotten from this business. I didn't expect it to be this bad, it usually takes me around 10-20 minutes to remove any lash set and this lash removal took me 2 hours to get all of the lashes off and the adhesive never came off. All of her lashes were stuck together, ripping out so many of her lashes. I can tell that the lashes used were premade fans and I had to break down every individual fake lash to get her real lashes unstuck. My heart breaks for anybody who doesn't see this review. Went to get my nails and pedicure done. I showed her the sign she didn't even look at it right. to begin with, she didn't even prep my cuticle. She glued on the tips and then told the guy to start with my pedicure. I saw everyone of the technicians take their time with each of the customers in fact with me, I was held by one person, and then by another She didn't file my nails to shape them right my nails are bumpy, aren't symmetrical and the design I asked for it's not what I expected.They hurt I can't even type at my job my pedicure on the other end. I sort of like it but it wasn't what I wanted. I wanted a black french And a white 3-D flower first the guy tried to talk me into not getting the flower then the lady remember I wanted it and they tried putting one that was already made and it didn't fit my toe so then she drew on the flower I showed pictures for both of the designs read more

I called to schedule an appointment for a pedicure and a manicure. Very pleasant when answered the phone and they said available to go in right away. The owner greeted me as I walked in and asked if I was the one who called. I confirmed and Told have a seat. Less than five minutes the gal (forgot her name) walked over and took me to the chair. Asked if the water was okay, asked what services I wanted. She was very nice. We talked about where I should eat, gave me lots of options! Talked about work, dogs (showed me pictures of hers). As I was getting my pedicure and manicure all staff greeted customers by name. I was very impressed that it was clean, they focused on customer service and were like a family. I'll definitely return if I'm in Des Moines again! Oh, and my toes and fingernails look amazing! Did I mention the parafina on both feet and hands? Overall a great experience! read more

I'm never one to critique and part of it makes me feel bad but I came to try them out for the 1st time today hoping that I could find somewhere to go closer to home rather than traveling across town to go somewhere else. The beginning was beautiful I described to her what I wanted she did something different but I went with it because I thought it would turn out pretty. I asked for hearts on each ring finger but they turned out to look like globs..The filing on my nails weren't good and she filed after she painted so it filed a lot of paint off on the sides and they were left jagged. See those diamonds? I didnt ask for thise! She just put them on and charged me for them! Things like this stick out to me because if you're doing my nails and you see that there's an issue you should have fixed it. I should have said something before I left but I didn't sit there in front of her in inspect them.. that was just my fault. When I asked for a refund so that I could just go back to my normal nail salon to get them fixed she told me that the hearts were only $5 she would give me that back because I did not have time Nor did I want her to fix them. I just didn't understand how you left them looking this way. I went In to show her why I wanted a full refund and She had no intention on refunding me any of it. Overpriced for the work that I got done in the 1st place but instead Of giving me my money back she would have rather grabbed my hand to cut my nails off and still have charged me rather than just giving me my money so I can get them fixed somewhere else on another day. Safe to say I'm pissed and I won't be back. I'm a manager for a big company so a lot of people will see this work and I'll make sure to let them know where I went and what type of experience I had. read more

I walked in to make an appointment. I showed the owner a picture of the ombré nails and asked if they could do it. She said yes, that it's done with powder. I also asked what the price was and she said $40. She put me on the schedule. When I showed up for the appointment, I showed a different technician the picture and she was asking Michelle how to do it ( I presumed since she was sharing the image). When I see her take out the polish and led light, I asked for clarification. I pointed at the owner and told her the conversation i had with her while making the appointment. Then all three women started talking in their native language. The gal didn't know how to do powder nails so now I had to wait for another technician. A few minutes later, a guy technician, without a word sits across from me. He has to remove the clear polish and grinds my nails down. No clue this is what's happening since he doesn't say a word to me. Thirty minutes later Michelle has me move to her chair. The ombré looks great but she charged me more than what the owner said it would be. If anything I should have gotten a discount since they aren't good communicators with their customers and had me wait. Plus now my nails hurt from added grinding and acetone that they used to correct their mistakes read more

My friend and I went in for a manicure and we decided to try LV Nails...bad choice. I got a gel French manicure and my friend got "white" dipped nails. Both of our manicures chipped in under a week (mine usually last at least 3 weeks.) My friends "white" dipped nails turned out to be pink. The employees were very rude and the place felt dirty. Over all our experience was sub par and the products lacked minimum quality. This place was definitely a no, and I wish I could have given it no stars. read more

The owner with the bob had claimed that she could do ombre dip nails, but then preceded to use gel even though that's not what i asked for which resulted in ombré nails that a child would do. She did a terrible shape up of the nails which i wanted short and square. For some reason she made them long and bulky. and towards then end she was barely paring attention and cut some of the skin on two of my nails. Never going again. read more

We walked in for 2 mani-pedi combos, and only had to wait 25 minutes, which was no problem. The attention to detail was wonderful. Very friendly staff, who seemed well acquainted with the majority of the customers. Several people came in while we were receiving our mani-pedis and requested gift certificates. Seems like the place to go if you want to be received with open arms and smiles. My spouse and I are very happy with the services we received on December 24th! My only suggestion might be having complimentary beverages or an option to purchase bottled water. read more

I've been going here for a few years now and I love everyone there. They are reasonably priced and always give great service. I live in Ames, but I still make sure to plan my schedule out so I can be in Des Moines when it is time to get my nails done. They are VERY clean, and I never worry about any of the equipment being dirty. They are awesome awesome awesome here!!! I had an appointment at 3:00 today for an eyelash fill. When I walked in the shop, I politely told the lady who was to complete the fill that I was 10 minutes early. She just smiled and said, Oh, okay, as she was working on a client's nails. I proceeded to sit and wait patiently for 28 minutes and no one, including the lady who was to complete my fill, ever spoke to me. No one apologized to me for having to wait or anything. After 28 minutes, I stood up and told the lady that I have another appointment, which I did, and that I needed to leave. She looked at me surprised and said, "I'm almost done." To that I responded and said, "I'm sorry, but I have to leave." All that was said to me by her was, "Oh, ok." Never once did I receive an apology for waiting and she never asked if I wanted to reschedule. If she would have offered a discount if I would come back or an apology, I may have considered coming back to the shop. It's unfortunate because I really wanted to continue going there to have my eyelash extensions, and even thought about going there for my nails instead of going to the place I go to now. If I could have given zero stars I would have! I chose to stop here quick in between appointments for a shellac mani. They pushed back my cuticles with no remover, just scraped away and sliced my pinky. Then went on to trimming cuticles and cut my middle finger. It wouldn't stop bleeding so she kept blotting it with rubbing alcohol, ow!! Then had to re-apply polish to my thumb twice because she couldn't get it right. All of this with no apology, she barely said 5 words to me, and I ended up with polish all over my fingers. I will NEVER go here again!!! read more

Shellac is supposed to last at least two weeks and only lasted 6 days from here. Same prices as the places in Jordan Creek Mall. Hurt my feet when they were working. ny hands are shredded from them using their tools on them. Won't go back. read more
