The tailgate was out of alignment, and after taking it to a body shop, they confirmed it had previous damage--yet the dealership did nothing about it. Then the sunroof started leaking, and again, nothing was done. It was one problem after another until we finally traded it in for a brand new Honda CR-V in Decatur, which has been dependable and backed by a reputable company. Do your homework before buying here. I was interested in a specific vehicle on their website. I reached out. I got a phone call from a salesman who was trying to get me to come in and look at vehicles and I said no I'm only interested in this one vehicle he said well that's going through the intake process. It'll be a day or so till it's ready. I said that's fine. Scheduled an appointment to go see it. It was eight days until it was ready when I went to go view the vehicle it was not advertised correctly online they said it was a third row that it had all these features and it did not have any of that. It had damaged interior with holes in the seats worn seatbelts no third row but a third row delete. When I asked how far they were willing to negotiate as what was advertised on mine is not what I'm seeing in person. He said this is the best we can do. I'm trying to go to the beach tomorrow. I said I'm unable to do anything along those lines then unless you can get the payment under a certain amount. The sales manager came over asked if he could run both mine and my husband's credit I said that's fine no issues against that. He ran Syd credit and it was three hours. We had no updates so I asked for my second set of keys back they said oh wait a moment and I said no my kids are ready to go home and eat. It's late. We've been here a while thank you for your time but we scheduled an appointment and this is taking a while. We'd like to head home. He refused again, so my husband took the kids out to the car with our primary set of keys loaded them up and then they finally gave my second set of keys and said they would contact us. It's been four days and enough still yet to hear anything. I don't need to trade in my vehicle, but it's still frustrating to have had such wasted time for a large purchase. Use another dealership! !! Any other dealership!!! I sure will next time! I've bought several new cars and have never been treated the way that I was here. (The deal I was promised, was not what I ended up getting to summarize.) Full story.... I should have paid more attention but was not expecting to be taken advantage of in such an extreme manner! I went in and sat down with them to go over the numbers when I went to pick the car up. (I was having surgery the next morning and didn't drive at night, so I left it there.) The car was offered to me with $5k in Serra cash at the beginning of the deal but that came up missing, they are like "What cash incentive?" the next day, of course, it was gone from the website since they marked it as sold but it was on every other identical vehicle. Also, the purchase price of the car was $4k more than it started out being on the sticker price (when the deal was done). They said they had to do it that night of the signing to make the numbers work to give me more on my trade in....I'd saw this done before and believed them. It was late and we'd been there for hours, and they knew I needed to get out since I had to be at the hospital extremely early the next morning....so they just absolutely took advantage of that. I had said flat out that I WOULD NOT trade my car in for such a low value under any circumstance, so they told me they would give me an additional $2000. That was low but acceptable. When we went over the paperwork and I saw they hadn't given me the extra $2000 and had overcharged for the car, didn't give me the $5000 in incentives, I couldn't back out and couldn't even keep my car. They told me they couldn't even let me pay cash to keep it. It didn't matter to them, I'd already signed the paperwork in good faith and thought it would be what we agreed on and they knew there was nothing I could do and made no effort to make the agreed upon deal. They promised more, to get me to sign and I was dumb enough to believe I was getting the agreed deal. All in all it looks like they took me for at least $10k!!! I brought my Rouge in. It needed a new transmission. $4900 and two months later my transmission is making a banging noise. Now they say I need to change my transmission mounts and pay almost $400 more. A good mechanic would have changed them or at least told me at that time they needed changing. What a rip off. I took my car here for a simple oil change I live appropriately ten miles away from this dealership I should have checked my car over before leaving but when you are just getting an oil change you don't expect anything to be left off your engine well that's exactly what happened to me I left the dealership and about a mile down the road smoke starts coming from under the hood I pull over on side of the road and look under the hood and I notice my oil cap is not on the engine thus the reason for the smoke at this point I'm really upset and call the dealership they of course deny it happening but offer to come get my car and do another oil change I said NO THANK YOU! I now take my Nissan to Birmingham for service it's out of my way and a long drive but it's worth it not to have to worry about what is missing from my car when I get it back. read more

Went in yesterday for an oil change. Had made appointment later in week but had to cancel so was told just to bring by and it wouldn't take long. so I showed up at opening at 730 am and was first customer there. was told no problem and went to waiting room. 830am I walked outside to take a call and noticed my truck sitting outside. ask the service clerk if I was finished and she went to check, she retuned to tell me it would be 1 1/2 hours longer since they only had 1 person to do the oil changes. would have been nice to have been told this. I had a coupon to get 5 oil changes free so I gave it back to her and said good buy. I guess they just want people who pay for oil changes and not free ones. when I was driving away I noticed a new oil sticker so I called ask did they do oil change or not. she said no they replace sticker and then do oil change. need to work on customer service training since I received a text saying they where working on my truck at 735am which was a lie. paying for my oil change now at a more reputable place. will never buy anything from this place again and recommend that others don't either read more

Let me start by saying, my salesman was wonderful. But he was very young so I don't think he had a lot of pull yet. Now on to the rest. I am out of state. I bought my preowned car 2 months ago. The title, bill of sale and tax check has still not been sent to my local tag office. We have called the dealership several times and have been assured that it will be taken care of. My county requires that the car be registered within 7 days of purchase, so as of now I will be charged a 15% late fee. Also, the paperwork that I received from Tony Serra says that there is a $15 fine if I don't have the car registered within 20 days. I will update as this plays out. I got pulled over this morning for no tag, thank goodness no ticket, but I bet he'll be watching to see if I get a tag, bet he won't wait 2 months to give me a ticket. read more

Brought my car for repairs, the car was doing some humming noise during high speed and a rattle noise at low speed when releasing gas. Their diagnose was rear wheel bearing. cost $294 I asked the service rep if you don't get it fixed do you issue a refund? he said yes. So an hour later they brought up my car and to my surprise the car was never fixed the noise was still there service manager was not in town and the only person available was the general manager who is so unprofessional and has no management skills I don't know where they found him but he clearly has no education on how to manage and communicate with customers. He drove the car to test the issue when he brought it back he brought me to the shop to show me that my oil was running low. Like what does that have to do with my issue I told him I don't care about the oil and I just want them to fix the issue and since they didn't fix it to refund my money. he said they found other issues I told him I don't care I was not told about other issues and their job was to fix the noise. I told him I brought the car to nissan to get a diagnose I would assume you know what you're doing and you didn't fix it He just keep telling me he couldn't get me a refund but he could give me a free oil change. Ridiculous. He was clearly deviating from the issue. He also was such a bully and unprofessional he never once apologize and when I asked for his card he just turn around and told one of the reps to give me one of his cards. Also the whole service team at this location lacks customer service skills , there was no greetings the 2 times I was there . The cashiers are on their phone all the time doesn't acknowledge when someone walk-ins. The Service reps seem to be lost , don't know what to do or do their job. I took my Nissan Frontier to these guys because I had a whining sound coming from the front of the truck that would cease when I turned the steering wheel. Now keep in mind, this is a Nissan truck and this place is a Nissan dealer lso naturally you would think these mechanics are the best of the best. I drop my truck off and first they tell me that it's the air conditioner making this noise and it will cost upwards to $1200 dollars to repair. When I questioned them about this and said the air conditioner is not even on at all and when I turn the steering wheel, this noise stops so could it be the power steering pump? The mechanic then took me out to the garage and he started turning the steering wheel and noticed that the sound stopped and says it's definitely the power steering pump. They replaced the power steering pump the next morning, charged me $500 and sent me on my way. I get halfway up the road and the same noise is even louder than it was before so I go back. This time they tell me that it's the alternator causing the sound but since they diagnosed it wrong, they will replace the alternator no charge. The next day I was told they put two alternators on the truck and this still did not solve the problem of the whining and now they say it's the timing chain and that this repair would be somewhere close to $2500 to $2800. When I question them about this because at this point, they have told me multiple things and have tried to charge me upwards of almost $4200 if I did everything they have guessed at thus far. Get this- Now they say that they are not sure this will fix the whining sound either (but hey it's just the customers money so who cares). The service guy then tells me that it's really just a process of elimination (as they rebuild the entire truck) or in other words, they will just keep guessing at my expense, until they get it right. At this point, I have lost all faith in this place, and told them that I would just take this truck somewhere else to have it evaluated. I asked my service guy if I could get a refund on the power steering pump because I just wasted that money with their miss diagnosis and he told me that he would talk to his service manager and call me back. I received a call letting me know that they WILL give me HALF of the refund because they have to pay the mechanic for the work he did to the truck, even though he didn't accurately, diagnose or repair the issue at all. That didn't sit well with me so again, I asked for a full refund rather than half so I can take the truck somewhere else and apply that money toward the costs of repair and he told me no. I told him that I would roast them online for this because it's not right and was told if I do that they won't be giving me a refund at all which should make Tony Serra himself shake his head in disbelief if he cared about customer service at all. I took this truck to a Shadetree mechanic in town by the name of Guthries Auto Repair and they diagnosed the issue in one day being the oil filter causing the problem. They replaced the oil filter for $14.00 and the whining sound has completely went away. This should be an embarrassment to the Nissan Corp and to Tony Serra personally!! Taking care of your customer should be your number one priority but this dealers only priority is to rip off the customer with incompetence all while Blackmailing the customer by not giving the refund back because they don't want a negative review, exposing this issue. Horrid Customer Service! We are working with Nissan Corporate on a car issue and need the assistance from a dealership. We contacted the Service Manager at Tony Serra after having issues with one of their service advisors who told us the transmission needs to be replaced(and would be at least $4000) WITHOUT doing a diagnostic. The Service Manager at Tony Serra completely lost her composure. I tried to tell her what Nissan Corporate needed and she continued to talk over me then started to scream uncontrollably over the phone. She also told me it's common to have a transmission go out on a car at 5 years! WTH?? I've never talked to such an unprofessional person. I do not recommend this dealership to ANYONE! Ended up calling two other dealerships in the area: Lynn Layton and Jim Burke, both places had extremely professional employees that make you feel important! Fairly positive experience buying a new car from them. However, they horribly low-balled me on my trade-in. Horribly inefficient finance management. It took over 5 hours to complete the transaction (not including any test drive). Additionally, the new car arrived with a couple minor scratches in the paint. The sales manager said he would call me the first week to arrange a time for their touch-up guy to repair the scratches. I just heard from them today 1.5 weeks later to arrange a time for the scratch repair. Their pre-delivery detailing of the car was not what I'm used to when buying new cars. In addition to the exterior not being as clean as I'm used to, there appeared to be a minor drink spill in the front cup-holder. When spending $60k on a car, one would hope the paint would be scratch-less and clean on delivery. Other than the long wait at the dealership and their low-balling me on my trade-in, I'm pleased with the transaction. Update: Well guess what. After rearranging my work schedule to ensure I was available to meet with their paint repairman as we arranged, nobody showed on the appointed day. I think they just wanted to get me out of the dealership. After owning Honda cars since 1980, I thought I'd give Nissan a chance. I'm not happy with the condition the car was delivered to me in. Additionally, their failure to repair the paint scratches as promised disappoints me, but doesn't surprise me. I'll go back to Honda next time. Update: 4-16-17. Well, I still have the scratches that the $60k car came with. They are much less noticeable due to some touch up paint I got on Amazon no thanks to the dealership. Now, It's approaching time for the first service (oil change) on my new 2017 Armada Platinum. (I'm very happy with the car overall. There are a few things I wish they had done differently, but I'm sure I'll never find a car that meets my needs 100%). Frankly, I am dreading making the trip back to Cullman for the service. When they showed me the service department as part of the purchasing process, I was quite disappointed to see how small and ill-equipped their service departed looked. The salesperson, Gary Krise was kind and knowledgeable, and knew everything there was to know about my new Armada and spent so much time with my husband and I making sure each setting was just perfect before we drove off. The service manager, Shan Bell is the most considerate and knowledgeable person you could want for your vehicle service needs. I ordered a hitch for my Xterra from the Service Department over the phone and paid for it in advance. I ended up not needing the part and called to cancel the order. They then informed me there is a restocking fee of 20%. I relay it would have been nice to know this in advance. They indicate it is policy and is posted in the dealership. I reiterate that I ordered over the phone and they should have let me know this, since I was not there to be able to see the post. The Manager stated how should the Nissan Staff have known to tell me this. This was an easy answer...I stated because it is your policy... The manager then got loud and it digressed... I went to this dealership first with a specific new vehicle they had in stock. I told them what I wanted and what I was willing to pay and the sales person told me he could not do that without any discussion and told me good luck. I went the same day to a Nissan dealer in Huntsville and got a better deal than I was denied by Serra Visser. I also had a bad experience with the sales Mgr. on another occasion, when a local group was trying to give his weekend staff a free lunch, He was very rude and denied his staff a free meal. read more

Not transparent. Treated with disrespect. Our 11 year old, 2008 Nissan received a recall for the airbags, when we brought it in to Tony Serra Nissan. The manager, Will John, suggested he do a $110.00 diagnostic test when we mentioned our sensor lights for gas and tires were staying on. He said if it was the gas lid, that repair would be covered in the diagnostic fee. He called us to inform us after the test that the 'catalytic converter' was going bad and the test showed 14 abnormal codes, which he estimated would cost $1000.00 to repair. We did not want the diagnostic test in the first place. We just thought they could offer some feedback about the sensor issues. When I went to pick up our car, I had to pay for the diagnostic test. I was not allowed a copy of the test, only part of it that they copied because I insisted I see what was done, and what I paid for. Before I signed the paper work, I took time to read what I was signing. This seemed to bother the staff. When I asked for copies of what I signed, they went to get their manager, Will John. They said these papers were a part of their 'internal paperwork', stapled to my signature page. Will John first denied me a copy of the paper I signed. He said about my request 'this is getting a little out of hand.' He was very rude. He thought it was extreme for me, the customer, to ask for a copy of the paper I signed attached to the diagnostic test. He took the papers from me. I asked if I may see the papers that were stapled to my signature page. He first said I could not see them! But then, he gave them to me. I did insist on a copy of the paper I signed and he did eventually do that. The day after we got home, our Nissan would not start. Even the fob was dead. When they replaced our airbags, they had to disconnect the battery. When they reconnected it, they were not tightened well enough which caused our car to not start. We tightened the wires ourselves because we do not trust that this dealership puts the customer first. We were concerned that they would charge us again for something that we did not want done. Poor service. They are not transparent and fail to understand the importance of providing signed copies of their transactions with customers. What are they hiding? read more
