I received the Vinyl Plank floors and Ceiling Fans (I hadn't hired anyone yet but had shipped to the house) and Francisco said he could do the floors and fans also. What luck finding him, as he did the entire house/project with minimal supervision, he handled it all took a lot of stress off me. The House came out beautiful. Besides Electrical, his plumbing skills are great and he installed a new double-sink vanity in the master bath; it was previously 1 sink, so the plumbing needed changing. He also did the Closet Doors, the Faux Wood Blinds and changed all the outlets and more.  Francisco provided a couple soft suggestions and he was absolutely right!.  He genuinely saw the modern, updated, though renter and budget friendly theme I was going for and it seems he was genuinely helping me get my theme right, in a budget friendly manner, not simply expand his workload.  After the tub was refinished, new double vanity, new lighting, and large mirrors, he said "do you really want to put these shower doors back on (from the 80s) and he was right, the new shower doors which he gave me a great price to install, made the entire bath look new, modernized and updated.  He also mentioned the inexpensive Panel closet sliding doors, which really was needed and they did update the bedrooms a bit at a good price and look very nice.  His work was beautiful,he did clean up, he knows what he is doing, and I will definitely hire him again.  Actually, I did hire him again (I had to replace a water heater).  One thing to consider, if you are in a timeline, get an exact completion date. The project took about 3 weeks longer, than I anticipated, but it was worth it as the price and Francisco himself being great to work with and handling it with minimal supervision. Their courtesy made them stand out from the other potential vendors that did not even acknowledge my parents, who were the ones paying for the painting of their home. They also provided solutions to a problem we had, removal of old furniture and taking it to the dump. The solution to this problem made it easier to say yes to starting the work. We were looking to have the interior painting done quickly and they started right away. They moved furniture as needed, being careful with each item. I also appreciated the care they took to contain the paint fumes as much as possible and protect items with plastic and tarps. Painting a large home with an elderly couple living there is not an easy task, yet Kevin and his crew worked diligently to get the job done as quickly as possible. They were sensitive to our needs and adjusted the schedule as needed to accommodate. At the end of each day they said goodbye and thanked my parents and I for the work. The grout it uneven some thicker than other. The baseboard are just not finished looking .The project took a lot longer than he said it would . John worked on my job over 26 hours and it still is neither completed nor at the caliber one would expect for $2,000! The Job: I requested weatherstripping and paint on two exterior doors. I selected John because he seemed friendly and kind in his bid. In person, he was indeed friendly and kind, even eager to please. Unfortunately John doesn't possess the skill set to do this job well. He lacks any sense of time management and is obviously not a painter. Plus, he has terrible choice in assistants. The Assistant: A creepy man in a cowboy hat, constantly attempting to hug me full front and also side arm. He landed a few kisses on my head and face. He told me over and over that he loved me and he tried to get me to write down his phone number to call him personally. "Don't tell the boss he doesn't like it when I do this." No kidding! I felt UNSAFE in my own home. I consider this behavior harassment and I spoke to John about it. The assistant wasn't present at the subsequent visits. Thank you, John. Communication: John was over 2 1-2 hours late for two of our three meetings. Read that again. 2.5 hours late twice, texting me at the time he was supposed to show up. For our third meeting I had to coax him into coming at our agreed upon time. He contacted me to say he'd be late and I convinced him that he needed to show up at our agreed time. Furthermore, John told me the work would take an hour, two at the most. At the first visit, the job took 8 hours for two men to do. The work was very unsatisfactory, so John came back a second time. He said it would take at the most 2 hours. It was an 8 1/2 hour day and the work was not satisfactory when he left my house. On the third and final day John said it should take an hour, two at the most. We know what that means ... ELEVEN hours later my Business Manager sent John home. Conclusion: If John couldn't get a simple paint job right in 26 hours, he never will. The most disturbing part of all was that he couldn't see or identify the errors. We kept asking him, "what do you think needs to be corrected," and he couldn't tell us more than the areas I'd already pointed out. I'll share some photos. Can you see what went wrong? If so, you're several steps ahead of John and his creepy assistant.
