First time coming here. Went to get a photo inspection. Asked who could help me. Worker replies "Can't you see who, there's only one person walking around" Ok Then I ask the guy walking around for help with a photo inspection . He replies with " clean all the snow off your car first". Mind you I already did before I left the house. All that was on it was a few pieces of snow. Well ok I'll go grab a window cleaner from their gas station. It's only a couple pieces of snow. BOOM The worker runs up yelling at me saying "Put that back right now, Put it back!!!!" I said it was just a couple pieces of snow what's the big deal. Worker still being disrespectful and rude says "it's only for windows can't you see?" TWO TIMES ABOUT ME BEING ABLE TO SEE?????? Maybe because I'm Asian but I'm telling everyone I know to stop going here. Racist and rude on my first try with this company. Never again. read more

Pros (1) Excellent customer service and communication. (2) Employees usually come out and pump gas for you. I'm very thankful, especially on cold days. (3) State inspection and oil change are done pretty quick. Cons (1) Place is dirty even for a gas station. read more

They care more about my safety then pulling a profit. I had no friends in Queens until I ended up in Tony's Auto Service and became family. Nick gave me a list and made me promise to take care of the top 2 ones ASAP upon my return to Chicago. With brand new parts, I drove to Chicago and Detroit taking care of my pre-NYC life. I returned, becoming a NYC resident in 2007, to become a lifelong customer of Tonys . Before Tony's my car was only touched by Ford employees, even living in Chicago I would return to the Motor City for car repairs. My Ford Focus ZX3 is 15 years old and these guys keep it singing to this day. Nick won't let me drive it to the midwest any more though, but Upstate and New England has plenty to see! Quick and fast service. Went here to get my car inspected for insurance coverage. He estimated an hour wait but I was done in less than 20 minutes. I came over and had my tire pressure sensor replaced at this place. After that I started hearing weird metallic noise in the area where they replaced the sensor. I went to another auto shop and found that the sound came from the old sensor they left in my tire. I couldn't believe what happened. The noise really bothered me for a couple of weeks. The guys at Tony's really need to pay more attention to their jobs. read more

Need to get a photo inspection for your car insurance company? Don't come here. It's supposed to 1) take 15 minutes and 2) be free. Their inspector "NF" told me to park on the sidewalk blocking pedestrians. When I pointed out that I was blocking people from walking he said "I know" then took 42 minutes to fill out the form and take a couple pictures. He was rude the whole time and kept slamming my doors. At the end of it he had the nerve to ask for a tip -- actually no, saying he asked for it implies it was a question. He demanded it by just saying, "Tip." Are you kidding me? read more

I have been taking my car hear for a few years. When parts are broke and under warranty, they let me know so I can go back to the dealership and not be charged. They are very honest, and fair pricing. Which is rare in the NYC area. I usually drop my car off to get an oil change at 8am and I have my car back before 9am to make it to work on time. read more

Unfortunately I hate to be a nagger but i took my car into tony's to renew my expired inspection. Tony said he'd call me when it was done since my parents lived right around the corner and I was visiting them. Tony called me back after 2 hours and told me that I wasn't going to pass inspection and needed my front brakes changed as well as my brake sensor, all for $180. I told Tony that the brakes seem fine but he insisted it had to be changed. When I went to pick up my car, I told Tony that I was going to be leaving NY that very night and wasn't able to get the work done at his shop. He insisted I stay a day to get it all done; I told him I would probably come back and get it done at his shop within 2 weeks. However, the truth was I planned to get it done by myself for free and then return within 30 days to complete my inspection. So Tony let me leave without a valid inspection.. knowing I was going to be driving out of state... So a few weeks later, I ordered the front brakes. Parts arrived only for me to find out that the brakes were absolutely fine. Not a surprise really... the pads had plenty of meat on them and the rotors were still ultra smooth... On my last trip back to NY, I took my car to a different shop and it passed inspection with no issues. All in all, Tony completely wasted my time... just to try and make a quick buck. He probably wasn't even going to change my brakes now that I think about it... Makes me wonder if these other reviews are real or not and how often he's robbing his customers... read more
