Unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing from the moment we walked in. There was no host or anyone at the entrance to greet us. I walked in and tried to ask a staff member--a thin man with short hair--how things worked here and if they served food. He completely ignored me. I initially gave him the benefit of the doubt, thinking he couldn't hear me over the loud music. However, shortly after, my husband walked in and spoke directly to him, and he was completely ignored as well. The man simply gave us the silent treatment. Needless to say, we didn't stay, order anything, or eat here. We ended up walking right back out. I rarely leave negative reviews, but as newcomers looking to enjoy the downtown scene, this was a terrible first impression of local hospitality. We definitely won't be back.

I got there walked up to the bar was not greeted by the bartender. I wanted to buy a cocktail and yet no one helped me so I sat outside for a little bit went back in still no help so then I went to a different place and only came back because I wanted to be around the music. When I came back, there was a lot more people music was playing, and I sat at the bar waited for the bartender for over an hour, and there were two behind the bar. They totally just ignored me. I was quiet I wasn't acknowledged at all I tried to raise my hand to get their attention and they just totally acted like they didn't want to be there and we're just helping the people they knew it was a horrible experience as I talked to a few of the locals that go there they said that yeah the bartenders are not very friendly unless they know you well then why the heck would anybody want to go there? I was very disappointed and that will be the last time that I go there I will take my business and my friends to the local spot around the corner. The drink that I finally got because a man had to wave down the bartender and said she's been waiting wasn't even made correctly. It was a simple, three ingredient drink, and yet a bartender he screwed up. I did not complain. I let it go. I paid my bill, which was higher than it should've been and I still tipped well, even though I probably shouldn't have tipped because he did not deserve it because of the service and serving me not what I ordered, but that's not me so I tipped had my cocktail talk to a few people and left. It was a good place to stop after a long hike, and an even longer drive on my way home. The bartender was super friendly, and we chatted for a while about life on Bethel Island, real estate, and local events. It was a good conversation, and just added to the appeal of this locals bar and grill. It has plenty of character, and plenty of elbow room inside, and out on their back patio. It turns out they need it for all the nights where they have live music, which seems to happen frequently. So I sat back down another 8 minutes, still no sight of the waitress so I got up, and I walked to what looked like the kitchen, stuck my head in and said to someone in there I'm starving. Can I order some french fries please? She said OK so I went back and sat down, two of my friends walked in and sat down at the table with me. Our server was extremely rude, and at one point our food was simply left for us to pick up ourselves because we were sitting off to the side and were not being attended to. We ordered the charcuterie board, which was served on a paper plate and surrounded by peanuts. This became a serious concern because my friend has a severe, potentially life-threatening peanut allergy. We immediately brought this to the staff's attention and asked whether anything else was prepared separately or could safely be served without exposure to peanuts. Instead of taking the concern seriously, we were met with laughter and a response that they "didn't know." What was especially concerning is that the menu did not clearly identify peanut allergens or provide any clear allergy information, and when we specifically brought up a potentially life-threatening allergy, there did not seem to be any urgency, concern, or willingness from the staff to help us determine what would be safe to eat. Food allergies are not something to joke about or dismiss. Unfortunately, the experience continued to go downhill. The shots we were served were visibly dirty, and the overall atmosphere and customer service left a lot to be desired. I understand that mistakes can happen, but the way a restaurant responds when a customer raises a serious food allergy concern is extremely important. We expected basic attentiveness, cleanliness, and professionalism, and unfortunately received none of those things. Overall, a very disappointing experience and definitely not somewhere I would feel comfortable returning to, especially for anyone with a serious food allergy.

This is the second time this has happened to us with the same server - we had the identical experience about three months ago.
