We had a bad experience with a previous landscaper and needed someone to come in and fix a lot of the things that were done incorrectly. Tony did a great job cleaning up our front yard and getting everything back on track. He planted new plants, trimmed our bushes, pruned our olive tree, and helped make the yard look healthy and well-maintained again. He also replaced some of the cheap fiberglass weed barrier the previous landscaper had used, fixed parts of our irrigation system, and reprogrammed our watering schedule. Tony was knowledgeable, paid attention to the details, and took the time to do things the right way. We really appreciated that he didn't just do a quick cleanup but actually looked at what needed to be fixed and improved. As others have claimed. "Mr Tony" uses aggressive/threatening tactics to try to "earn" your business. At first he was very welcoming and professional. His price was very steep from the start and I was not completely sold. He mentioned his crew was nearby and could come by and scope out the tree I asked to remove due power lines running thru it. His whole crew and multiple trucks showed up as if they were going to start the job. I told the crew I'd call Tony once I feel ready to proceed. Tony calls aggressively stating I am wasting his and his crew's time while dropping the price to get me to agree to proceed right then in that moment. The final price was competitive but he was not willing to give me a day to decide due to being "too busy". He ends up dropping the price by half but at that point his unprofessionalism was enough to no longer proceed. The crew ended up doubling and took up the whole cul-de-sac with their trucks for hours afterwards and claimed they were on their lunch break. My wife works from home, her office window faces the street and she did not feel comfortable with Tony's guys sitting outside for hours sitting around the grass just staring into our property. Meanwhile Tony was calling and texting wasting MY time. Don't get ripped off, ALWAYS get multiple bids and don't fall for cheap salesman tactics. read more

I cannot praise enough Tony and his team on their work in my backyard. It all started when I needed my trees to be trimmed. They did a fantastic job and my husband was looking for a real arborist versus someone who just chops tree branches and they did not disappoint. My trees got beautiful haircuts :) Once they were done, I asked Tony if he also does backyard renovations because I got F U... twice. Once with a company that was on HGTV which took too long just to do the design and a second independent contractor named Thomas Rhodas who stole our money and just never showed up to do the work. I was first reluctant cuz tony sounded too good to be true and by the time I met Tony, I was a wrecked from the second person stealing from us, but I can't thank tony enough. He gave me an honest budget and said that he would be done in 8 weeks which is really fast for what I was asking. It's so hard to find an honest contractor nowadays and so I can't recommend Tony enough to do what he says he will do ! He built me a gondola with an island bbq. He moved the pool equipmeto the corner. He added lights. He had to create plumbing. He was here everyday to make sure that communication was there. He asked every morning if something was not done up to par and would change it on the spot ! He had so many good recommendations. My ordeal began with him threatening to charge me double if I didn't clean my yard to his standards due to a supposed fire hazard--great introduction, Tony. When I pointed out the remaining dead branches and trash--clear as day--he dismissed my concerns, claiming my eyes are lying to me and contradicting his own fire hazard warning. 2. A heads-up on that from the start would have been appreciated, but no, Tony prefers the shock tactic. Strong-arming customers into paying more by threatening them with doubled fees? I found Tony's BC Tree Service after sending a "tree trimming," request out through Yelp. Tony called me first thing the next morning and said he had time to stop by for a quote - within the hour he came and gave me advice on what work he suggested we should have done and a reasonable quote for the work. His team showed up the next morning at 7:30am and got straight to work. We needed 5 tree support posts to be changed out for stronger and larger posts, the scope of work included removing hung string lights, removing old poles, trimming 6'-8' off of the top of 5 trees, digging and pouring cement for new sturdier posts, restringing the lights. This took 1 1/2 days of work. The workers were very friendly and professional. They took care with my outdoor furniture and lights and ensured the yard looked as it did when they arrived. I called Tony about a year ago because people in my community's Facebook group (Brea Buzz) recommended him and I'm so glad I did. The person I was using before Tony was charging $145/tree for palm tree trimming. Tony gave me a MUCH better deal and had one of his crews out to my house the next day. I say "one" of his crews because this man is running a landscaping/hardscaping enterprise! He has 45 employees, some full-time, some part-time, but either way, they know what they're doing. The job was done efficiently and they did a good job cleaning up afterwards which is something that doesn't always happen. Anyway, I liked his work so much I hired him recently to completely remove my trees. It wasn't a hard decision to get rid of them--they'd been growing out of control in recent years and the upkeep was getting irritating. He replaced my (albeit overgrown) but beautiful mature plants with trash plants like jade trees and cheap succulents that he clearly propagated out of another's yard. They do decent work, except they didn't really clean up very well afterwards. There was branch debris all over mine and my neighbor's lawns. I have a big tree on the front lawn of the property I rent. The homeowner and landlord are already jerks and this isn't the first time they are rude and inconsiderate by letting maintenance workers show up unannounced and start work without any notice. (Legends Property Management in OC by the way, I don't recommend them. They treat their tenants like they don't matter. The owner of our property, is pretty rude too. We're just dumping money into this termite trap). This is the second year in a row that I had to let Tony know it's not okay to show up unannounced. My family and I live here and you can be considerate of us by giving us notice, at least days ahead. We have cars under the tree, they could've gotten damaged! Tony has agreed to give us notice next time. I swear I spoke to him about the same thing last year. He's a nice guy, but what they did wasn't nice... More importantly, this guy repeatedly litters local neighborhoods with unproductive promotional paraphernalia, collateral or annoying, littering propaganda (past door advertisements have been found littering yards, driveways and streets after coming loose from doors). Very aggravating, and unproductive, for all residents our small community enclave. Stop Antonio. We know how to research the internet for potential contractors. Further, this community relies almost entirely on referrals to services used by others. We have a line of over 25 Cypress trees on our boulevard side that had gone a couple years past when they should really have been trimmed. He did a great job getting them back in shape. Tony was amazing .. we called him because our kitten climbed this super tall cypress tree. He rushed his 2 guys out.. my two little girls watched them climb the tree and rescue our cat.. it was an adventure to watch them climb the tree .. rope a bag up to put her in then rope the bag down with her in it.
