Stopped in for breakfast while passing through town. I had the 2-egg breakfast with their breakfast sausage and my wife had the huevos rancheros with the hot green chili; both were outstanding! Had all the coffee we could drink and water to go with great service. Fantastic! read more

Some waitresses are rude, food isn't cooked to what we ordered and when we let them know either the waitress or the cook throw attitude and dirty looks. The owner is great though very friendly and checks on his customers. read more

Stopped in Trinidad to get some food and decided to go down main st and see all the restaurants, had heard about this place prior but never ate here myself. We pulled up and looked inside, it was busy but not packed, we decided to use the drive through. The menu is big and easily viewable, everything is ordered by number on the drive through menu. The menu itself doesn't seem to have the full variety of items that Tony's offers but still has good options of burgers/ burritos and similar things of that nature. Me and my grandmother got a 1/4 lb cheese burger each and a #11 fries to go with them. My mom got a half order smothered burger which she said was delicious! My burger was juicy, flavorful and definitely worth the money. The fries were so good and the serving was generous, the #11 is a full order of fries and I enjoyed it but I think a half order of fries will be enough for me next time! Very generous servings here and the half order smothered burger felt well served and heavy when I held the container. Never again will I expose my family to this place. The food was so bad. I ordered scrambled eggs. How can you mess up scrambled eggs? I got two fried eggs cut up. Bacon was okay. Our grandkids had chicken strips that was just ok. Fries were so greasy. All the Food was extremely greasy from old used grease. Our clothes smelled so bad of fried food that when we got back to the hotel we had to leave them out of our suitcases. The restaurant was dirty and disgusting. Moderately priced, but you get what you pay for. I would rate not good. Steak had fat and gristle. Potato was dry and under cooked. Side dish of string beans came out of a can for sure. Butter came in micro packs of Land O Lakes melted bits. Dinner roll was toast buried in garlic salt. Coffee was like dishwater. Paucity of locals eating here should have told me something. The outside doesn't look that good, but it is a great local diner- lots of menu choices! The food came out nice and hot! Friendly waitstaff and owner stopped by to check on us. We stopped here today on our way to Denver from Albuquerque. We weren't sure what to expect as this place is a bit of a dive. Despite the rough exterior, the food was great. My wife had the half order green chili burger, my daughter had a shorter of pancakes (which were huge), and I had the bacon and eggs with a side salad. The fries that came with my wife's burger were great, they tasted homemade. My daughters pancakes were delicious add well. They were nice and fluffy and what you would expect them to be. The side salad was basic, but that was what I wanted. I did see other salads they served looking good as they went out. No complaints about my bacon and eggs either, it would be nice if they had sourdough toast. I didn't get the server's name, but he had a full sleeve of tattoos on his arm, he did a great job. The process here were great as well, wish we had a place like this in Aurora that wasn't $10 a plate. If you are in the area, this place is worth it. read more

Since our paltry continental breakfast was insufficient in every way in our hotel, we ventured into Trinidad to try Tony's diner. Their menu is online, and the selections looked great. Some menu items are fantastic, and others are, well, not very good. Pancakes are always a homerun, and the eggs are made to your satisfaction. Do not order your eggs over medium if you want firm yokes. I ordered the huevos rancheros, and it was nothing like what I'm used to in Texas. This entrée consists of two corn tortillas topped with two eggs, and smothered in your choice of chili sauce. I had beans and "cut pork, " which was a tough Pork chop, on the side. This must be the New Mexico version of huevos rancheros. Everything was so smothered in chili sauce that I could not find my breakfast! My picture reveals a little bit of what is under the chili sauce. The beans became cold almost instantly. One thing Texans do not appreciate is cold pinto beans. The mild red chili sauce included ground beef, which I was not expecting, nor did I like for breakfast. But it was the only mild sauce they had. The waitress could have told me that.... The bottomless coffee is average. Lots of locals hang out in this place, so the tables filled up fast after 7:30 AM, which is why I could not take many pictures inside the diner. The beverage server was excellent; she had a great personality. Our waitress (complete with body piercings), seemed surly at best, and did not appreciate all my questions. Food is good but they are thieves Traveling from Houston to Denver and we stopped here for breakfast. Food was good and cheap, we all got the T-dad breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, and French toast/pancakes I think it was about $26 before tip. The reason for the one star review is because after we were done, we all went the restrooms (which are outside) then got in the car and were in the parking lot planning the rest of our trip for about 10min. This was more then enough time for someone to have came outside and give me my wallet that I had forgotten on the table...I didn't realize I had left my wallet for a couple of more hours. When I called they said they had it and that it had not been opened, we turned back around to pick it up. Once I got there Tony (the owner) hands me my wallet and reassures me that it had not been opened. But they stole $the 80 cash I had in there.
