I love this cafe! I wish it was my neighborhood spot because service was fantastic, retro aesthetics were great, and the drinks and treats were all amazing! I got the stonewall stone fruit which was a part of their Pride menu. Green tea and peach made for a perfect refresher. I would probably make mine a bit sweeter next time but the flavors are natural and delicious. The vertical chessboard lives rent free in my head btw!

Was in the local area w other Yelp elite friends and planned to stop since a regular customer recommended it and it was my 1st time visit and won't be my last. I really liked and enjoyed the little pastry that is available. Tony is a very friendly and welcoming as well as the other staff that waited on me. Their drink specials change monthly you can find those listed and pictured on his Instagram or Facebook page. I didn't get any drinks but my other friends did and raved how awesome they are. I just got pastries to go so my family can try them as well. They all loved them all but the lime cookie is a definitely a must try. The ingredients they use are top notch and they don't scamp. Definitely will be returning just wish this shop was in my local area. If you're in the area plan to stop and check it out as you won't be disappointed.

I love Tony's Flour Shop, the food is amazing, the coffees are delicious, the staff are friendly and warm and it's the cutest small shop around. If I lived closer I'd move in.

Absolutely love this little Pastry and coffee shop. Tony is very friendly and welcoming as well as the other staff that have waited on me. Their drink specials change monthly you can find those listed and pictured on his Instagram or Facebook page. I absolutely loved the Oscar Wilde Blueberry Matcha they just had for the month of June. I went in 3 times to get that drink. They put a lot of thought and detail into creating and naming all their treats and drinks specials. He makes a really good Rainbow cookie as well. If you're in the area I would definitely say stop by and make a purchase from him and support his little growing business.

Last minute brunch decision We decided to give this new coffee shop a try. Modern but cozy decor, more like new age style. Small but well lit. Food was good but a but a bit pricey for size and my taste. it need more variety in cold drinks. Service was good a little standoffish possibly because he got busy. This place seems more designed for a younger crowd.

Tony's Flour Shop is a newer bakery and coffee shop located, if memory serves, in the former Hot Taco Street Kitchen space. Given the review scores and what I'm seeing on Instagram, Tony's obviously has its fans and you should check it out, but I didn't connect with Tony's in the way that others apparently do. First of all, service was very helpful and friendly. A definite selling point. And while the shop is small, it's cute and there is some seating. I ordered a black iced coffee and three pastries to go. The coffee was pretty good. I didn't see any visible bags of beans, which in my experience means that a place isn't using coffee from a well know craft roaster like Giv. A place would want to highlight that since there is more expense involved. It tasted like the coffee was probably a medium dark roast of a blend made with mostly South and/or Central American beans. But I'm guessing. The coffee was certainly fine, but not a selling point for me. Perhaps they're very good at making specialty coffee beverages, but that isn't what I drink. I visit a lot of high end CT bakeries. Compared to most CT Bakeries, Tony's has a smaller case of goods. There's something about the shock and awe of seeing a giant case of beautiful baked goods. Tony's isn't large enough to have something like that. I sampled an almond bar, a brioche cinnamon roll and a Parmesan Leek Croissant with a lattice top. The almond bar needed more salt to balance the flavors, and a bit of acidity would have helped as well. The cinnamon roll also seemed like it needed a bit of salt and something else to take it to the next level. I didn't enjoy the filling of the Parmesan Leek Croissant. I don't think I've ever had this combo in a croissant, but either way, it just didn't work for me. On the plus side, the texture of the croissant was good. And the pastries certainly seemed fresh. Again, many people seem to like Tony's and you should check it out for yourself. For me, I prefer other places equally close to my home. 3.25 Stars

What a treasure Tony's Flour Shop is--it's like a ray of sunshine when you walk through the door. I was instantly drawn to the warm colors and retro/MCM decor. They are newly open, the staff were very welcoming, helpful, and gave out samples of a baked good to try. Tony himself was welcoming guests with a lot of contagious positive energy and everyone seemed to know him (even the kids). On this visit, we got a fresh loaf of Anna Mae's Cheese Bread. They do have a large bread slicer, but loaf was minutes from the oven and they weren't unable to slice it for us. The bread was THAT fresh and smelled so good. We also got a couple of Key Lime Poppyseed Muffin. I love lemon poppyseed muffins so had to try them. The key lime flavor came through very well and the glaze topping had a sour bite (think of Sour Patch Kids). I would definitely get them again. Afterwards, I wished we had bought more goodies since these were delicious. The bakery items are limited, but items rotate from cookie, pies, pastries, cakes, and breads. They, surprisingly, have a lot of vegan and gluten-free options. We also HAD to try the November coffee specials: Bourbon Sweet Potato Latte and Spiced Orange Cran-a-ccino. These were DELICIOUS. The Spiced Orange Cran-accino was my favorite because of the warm spices and a touch of orange/cranberry reminded me of the holidays. The regular drink menu is also limited, offering a few coffee, hot chocolate and tea options. I forgot to ask what coffee and tea they are brewing, but the names of the teas sound interesting I hope to try next. Tony's Flour Shop is small, I wish there were more tables and seating. During our visit, all seats were occupied which was sad because I would had loved to enjoyed my coffee and muffin there. For parking, there is additional spaces in the back of the building and a rear entrance. I look forward to returning to Tony's Flour Shop and I'll definitely buy a few more baked goodies to stock up for home.

Such a cute shop! Definitely feel like everyone who comes in knows Tony personally and he seems like a genuine guy! Lots of unique baked goods I wish we tried. We ordered coffees and they were just OK but I love how their syrups are housemade! They were VERY busy on a Sunday afternoon around 12 which is awesome for them, but the staff seemed overwhelmed. We'll definitely have to give it another go when it's quieter.

Came to Tony's specifically for some savory Thanksgiving bread. I was greeted by three friendly staff and was offered a sample of their Thanksgiving sandwich bread. It literally tasted like stuffing for those post Thanksgiving sandwiches. Yum I opted in for the potato onion bread loaf, and cannot wait to try it. They also had a cranberry bread, Italian rolls, cheese bread, and their Thanksgiving loaf. The prices are what you'd expect for an artisan bakery. They have pies, cookies, and other pastries, as well as various breads and coffee. There is a nice little cozy area to enjoy your tasty treats.

I've visited Tony's a few times and overall it's a cool new addition to the food scene in Cromwell. Service has been friendly and I love the authenticity. In terms of their offering, for the most part I've liked everything I've gotten. They make very good hot chocolate and offer different options - dark, milk, white. The coffee is A-OK. The baked goods I've tried have been mixed. There was a chocolate walnut roll that I really liked and they make a very very good cheese danish. Their cinnamon rolls are a different spin. While I appreciate the creativity, nothing beats the ooey gooey you come to expect from a cinnamon roll and these don't hit that mark. I also tried almond joy cupcakes. While the cake had a nice flavor, they were extremely dry. I wasn't sure if it was because of when they were baked compared to when I purchased or just no moisture in the recipe. But there's more than enough variety to try something new each visit and see.

    Fig Notaro Bar

Recently tried this local gem! Friendly, welcoming staff, creative cookie and pastry offerings, delicious breads, bagels, breakfast and coffees. Nice vibe and music. The oatmeal miso scotchie is a fave. Try Tony's and follow on social too; you won't be disappointed!

The coffee choices are pretty impressive, and their website made me chuckle when I saw them ask viewers to "Drop the orange and pink branded cup ;-) - There is a better way to start your morning, power your day, and sip on a little sunshine". I passed on their lineup of Cappuccino, Lattes, Espressos, Americanos, Macchiato, Cold Brews, Vietnamese, Cuban, And Con Panna, because all I wanted was a regular coffee, I went with their Deep Roast version known as CAFÉ HABANA, an espresso bean blend from Guatemala, Brazil, and Nicaragua. It was excellent, a yummy dark roast coffee with plenty of taste to it. Now seriously, what is a morning coffee without an accompanying bakery treat. They had a tempting variety of empanadas, croissants, pastries, and it was a tough decision before I put my money down on a muffin-like asparagus cheese frittata. It was decadently great. While I was waiting for my order, I looked around and saw quite a bit of prepared food (all prepared from scratch in house) for take-out. They have a lunch menu and a great looking Italian themed catering menu with Manicotti, Hand Stuffed Shells, Beef Lasagna, Three Cheese Lasagna, Four Cheese Mac & Cheese, and Eggplant Torta. Your shopping and browsing experience will also include sightings of canned goods, assorted groceries and baked goods. For all of these reasons, I was very impressed with my stop at Ani's, and I bet you'll be too.

The meeting was exactly two minutes away from Bob's, so when I rolled into Bob's at a quarter to nine, saw a near empty dining room, I figured I'd have plenty of time to have a coffee, enjoy a bagel, and go through my meeting notes. Oops, that wasn't what happened. Truth be told, I made my meeting with seven minutes to spare. After I ordered, I waited for quite a while and looked up from my notes to see what was going on. I saw two servers and the manager engaged in a serious conversation about something. My server caught my eye and ran over to the kitchen, and I clearly heard her say something like "where's that egg on a bagel?". It was evident that the order hadn't even made its way to the kitchen yet. Eventually my breakfast sandwich did arrive, and the server offered some sort of an apology for the delay and communication breakdown. Now, as I said, Bob's was pretty empty today, so that made the service breakdown hard to understand. I certainly hope they do a better job on their busy weekends. Anyway, my server was pleasant, and I did appreciate her apology. The sandwich and coffee were fine, and the bill came to just $7. Will I be back next month? I doubt it.

I suspected that meant "in a microwave" so I said if it was fresh, I didn't need it warmed. When the bagel arrived, it was ice cold. Must have been kept in a fridge, which doesn't help the taste or texture of baked goods. Because of that, it did not seem particularly fresh.
