I've been here several times over the last few years and I gotta say they are consistent! I always get a crepe (a gluten free crepe I might add) and it's made the same every time with fresh ingredients. The OJ is great plain or in a mimosa. My husband has celiacs and hasn't had an issue. They always bring the gf stuff on blue plates and also repeat that it's gf when they lay it down. It can get a bit crazy in here at times so be sure to stay close by to get your drinks yourself. They will bring the food to you but also pay attention bc sometimes it's hard to see the signs they give you at the table. Just be attentive and please please please clean up after yourself. One of my absolute favorite cafes EVER. I would drive (and have driven) 40+ minutes just to have brunch at Perk on Main. The cafe has so much seating (with some outlets nearby, which is a huge plus!) The staff are all super friendly, even when the place is busy. The espresso drinks I've had here have been absolutely perfect every time, and the sweet and savory breakfasts have all been great as well. Prices are relatively fair/comparable to similar cafes I've been to. Street parking is also quite cheap ($1/hour if I remember correctly) and I have never struggled to find a parking space. Honestly, I cannot recommend this cafe enough - I have introduced so many friends to it and everyone has loved it. If you're nearby, or even if you're not, consider stopping by. They have breakfast, lunch, pastries, smoothies, coffees... really all of the best options... so everyone should be able to find something here that works for them. read more

Perk is very hit-or-miss. Today, it was both. I like the online ordering system they added, and the service was quick. I really enjoyed the Pumpkin Spice Iced Chai, and I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't too sweet. On the other hand, I wasn't a huge fan of the crepe. It was crispy and overcooked; the filling was not distributed evenly so I ate the entire first half of the crepe without reaching any banana/berries. I also didn't like their peanut butter which was disappointing as someone who LOVES peanut butter and eats it on a daily basis. I imagine Perk would be a great place to study and grab a beverage because there's free wifi and it's spacious with lots of background noise if you're someone who needs noise. Loved this place for meeting a friend on a Saturday morning for breakfast. Depending on what time you get t her, it might be a bit difficult to get a table because they don't rush you out - which i appreciated. You order from the counter and they bring it to your table. Got a coffee, a savory crepe and a scone to bring home for hubby. The cranberry scone may have been one of the best ever - love that they don't put a sugary glaze all over it. Parking is metered in the back lot but a few hours was only a few bucks so it's so much easier than trying to find a free spot somewhere. The space of Perk On Main is amazing! So spacious with many areas to dine, inside and out for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's conveniently located on Main Street with easy access from the large Melilli Parking Lot. The inside was a mood with dark ceilings, red walls for a pop of color, dark tables and decor and the cast of natural light beaming from the windows. We stopped in for a quick coffee and snack. There was an overwhelming list of fresh food items from crepes, smoothie bowls, burgers, salads and so much more. Their fresh baked goods presented in front at the counter looked delicious. The staff was also very knowledgeable of the baked items and very quick making our drinks We got a huge slide of Cranberry Oat Bar. To wash it down, I got a black iced coffee with raspberry flavoring and my mom who was with got an iced latte with nutty maple. The cranberry oat bar was crumbly and delicious, large enough to share. My mom loved her nutty maple latte, a flavor you don't normally see at coffee shops. My black iced coffee was okay. The coffee was light, but they went heavy on the raspberry syrup made it taste way too artificial. I love berry flavor coffees, but this one wasn't for me. I would definitely try a different coffee flavor or tea next time. I love that they had many grab & go items, fresh nut butters, bags of coffee, and local chocolate. It was like a mini market since the counter and refrigerators were set in the back of the cafe. We love Perk on Main from the fun open atmosphere and the great view of Main Street to the friendly staff. A nice touch when you order is the cute street sign names you put on your table so the wait staff can deliver the goods. We love the crepes, smoothies, cappuccinos, breakfast burritos, cookies. You name it they do it well. They offer both savory and sweet crepes. Even burgers and salads if you aren't feeling their specialties. We eat in we order and it's always great. Highly recommend their amazing cookies as well perfect balance of soft and crispness. Love the Isabelle for a sweet crepe and you can't miss with the Popeye. Most of the breakfast dishes come with home fries and some fresh fruit. Cappuccinos though are my favorite in big oversized cups so comforting. I went back and forth between 3 and 4 stars, but here's why I'm giving it the 4 star. We went in on a busy Saturday early afternoon. It was bustling with people, but we didn't spend long in line at all. The staff was extremely nice (and deserve that extra star) and explained things on the menu we had questions about and didn't rush us. I really needed coffee and was hoping and praying it would be good. When I see almond coffee on a menu I always order it because it's my favorite. And this coffee didn't disappoint. It was smooth and not acidic, not over roasted or burnt, it was amazing. We were lucky to get a seat by the front window so we could people watch as we enjoyed our coffee and food. We both ordered the Isabelle crepe (jam and Brie) it was good, not the best crepe I've had but still good, however it had very little inside of it. So even after eating we were still hungry, so for the price I would not order one again. I would go back for the coffee and atmosphere, I would even give the crepes another shot or something else they had on the menu. You walk in near the drink stand but order at a different location....just a bit odd. Strawberry lemonade was refreshing on a hot day. A little pricey for size but still yummy. It's sad we've lost so many, but it's also purged the weak blood from among us. Perk On Main is like the Spartacus of cafes in our area. You might be saying, "Why is he making absurdly hyper masculine references to describe a cafe?" To which I would answer, "Because it makes my wife laugh." And now you're totally fine with it because you think I'm being a good husband. Too easy. Perk On Main seriously is one of the best cafes around, with its only competition (that I've seen) being Dom's cafe in Avon or Perk On Church (also Middletown) which is owned by the same owner anyway, so the fact that it's this good AND a chain is mind blowing. The cappuccino was the best I've ever had, hands down. It was art. It tasted like what I imagine the aurora borealis would taste like, if it had a taste. There are no words. I had a Caesar salad along with my cappuccino/religious experience and that was pretty great too. I don't usually get salads, but I was impressed. Everything was fresh. I didn't even get a single leaf of bitter lettuce (and there's almost always one!) The Swiss cheese was flavorful, and their homemade salad dressing was full bodied with just the right amount of tang. POM has a great atmosphere as well. Soothing and warm, with an easy going yet classic vibe. I felt like I could get work done there or just relax and enjoy my drink, which is exactly how you should feel in a modern cafe. The staff is quick and polite, and when we got the wrong crepe sent to our table (they're actually best known for their crepes), they rectified the problem immediately. Fantastic service. Some seating is elevated at different levels. This is a particularly thoughtful cafe design. It creates a more interesting and more private atmosphere. My husband and I tried Perk On Main for the first time today and oh my goodness were we SO pleased with our experience. First, the space is lovely. Large and accommodating. Lots of folks sitting and socializing and others sitting independently and working or reading. Perfect coffee shop vibes with so much more to offer. The menu is far more extensive than I would have ever imagined. It actually took several moments to decide from all of the outstanding options. Healthy options, calorie splurges, savory, sweet, big, small; they had it all. We ended up ordering two crepes: the Finnie Cheesesteak and the Karen's Strawberry and my husband got a Santa Fe breakfast burrito. The young lady at the counter was lovely and helpful. My husband asked for egg whites as a swap and they were happy to accommodate. Food came out quickly. We ordered to go, thinking we'd bring it home to eat, but ended up getting wrapped up in the aroma as we left and ate in the car unexpectedly. The crepes were excellent. Batter was soft and chewy like it should be and fillings were delicious. Steak was well seasoned in the Cheesesteak and had a great ratio of cheese to meat to veggies. It even came with a couple cantaloupe slices. The strawberry was perfectly sweet with fresh strawberries inside that weren't even mushy or watery through cooking. My husband loved his burrito and his only feedback is that it was a little short on the chicken. His seasoned home fries were some of the best I've ever had though. We were thrilled with our experience. The price was phenomenal. All of our food, which was enough for both of us to eat and have leftovers, was only about $40. This would have cost much more elsewhere. We will totally be back. Coming back to update my review because my experience with Perk on Main has been so positive recently, it is literally our go to spot to grab coffee in Middletown. Although I do still mostly eat gluten-free, for me it's a preference over an allergy and because I've found I can tolerate a treat once in a while, I will indulge in a scone or blueberry banana coffee cake here from time to time. Everything is made fresh in the morning and if you get a cup of coffee, refills are $1, so literally a perfect spot to bring one of your favorite people and hang out and catch up. The seats by the front window fill up the fastest and beware of the table next to the door leading to the outside because you will get blasted with cold air if you sit there. I come here often to get coffee, juice, or a dessert. This place is a huge coffee shop, with ample space to work or study. It's a little noisy for me, so I never come here to get work done but I like to come here to talk to people for a lunch coffee date.
