I felt compelled to write another review of Tony's Not Fresh Market. Recently we decided to give Tony's another try. With the rising cost of food we are actively looking for the best prices on food that we can. We recently bought some chicken breast, baby carrots and blueberries. All of the food we purchased had expiration dates from Sept 7-sept 27. With in 2 days after purchase we opened the chicken breast(expiration 9/6/25)and it smelled RANCID! Never in my life have I smelled chicken like that. Obviously BAD. Next we looked at the baby carrots(9/27/25), they were mush! Completely bad. Then last the blueberries, expiration 9/15/25, all were either moldy or mush! At this point either Tony's or their distributor is playing games with expiration dates. I'm Done with them. I'd rather buy from Aldi or sale item at Jewel. Someone needs to look into this fraud. Hello Attorney General! read more

This location can get pretty busy the parking kinda stinks but the store is clean and the employee in the produce area was very friendly and helpful, their meat department is well kept and good selection as well as the deli and bakery, would definitely recommend trying if you haven't yet read more

First and foremost let me talk about the amazing food service at Tony's. Quick and with great quality! But what really brings the store together is the loving staff, I asked an employee in the aisle to help me out and he dropped everything to help out. I love Tony's but it is consistently the same BS every time. I repeatedly tried to give this store a chance but it's always the same, ringing up the wrong price. And as far as the electronic coupons, it would be so much simpler if you just put your phone number in and received the discount! But no that would be too easy, instead, they want you to clip the coupon and save it to your phone. At least when I shop at Jewel my phone number is sufficient enough without growing through the BS. The selection of fish on Sunday was not great but I heard it's replenished on Wednesdays and Fridays. I'm not from around here but I've been to Tony's a few times when visiting my Southside people. This could become a 4-5 star store with some changes. Aldi is a tough competitor. The bakery section is massive and their pastry and cakes look good. But bread needs work. The rye bread seemed like it was made with sawdust. I forgot which brand (house brand or local) but it was way too dry and bland for rye bread. Bread is a staple product so they need to address this to notch up the stars. Quality over variety. A few quality types make a good impression, but 20 varieties of dried crap will get you shunned by discerning customers. Word of mouth advertising is too important in this era. Dump that vendor and see if Tuzik's on 95th will be your bread supplier. And Villa's on 79th. Dairy was impressive in scope and had some of the lowest prices I've seen in a long time. Dairy cheaper than Aldi. Dairy gets 5 stars. My attention span isn't long enough to address their huge fking produce section. Much produce, can't think, brain hurts. My sister loves their produce. Plenty of bulk. They had big bags of rice but basmati was conspicuously absent. Other staples like beans and lentils seemed to have good prices. 5 stars to the staff. I always go to Tony's market and most of the time the meat is spoiled. I often tell the manager about it and they don't even listen. I always check the dates on all the items there because most of the time the food is exp. It's the nearest store to me that's why I shop there. On the up side the bakery section is so good all fresh. I recommend the connlie cake. The manager there needs some training. Just saying. read more

I've been to this Tony's a couple times. It's about the same as the location in Melrose Park. The prices in general are okay. Everything on the shelves looks like there's some fabulous sale going on, but it's simply a dramatic advertising scheme. You'll notice under the bright, larger print sales tag...that the "sale" price is EXACTLY THE SAME as the regular price on the shelve. For shame! Fortunately, I still enjoy shopping at Tony's. The produce is primarily was keeps me going back. The quality is great and the price is usually the cheapest around. Kudos: Trying to remember to guy at the deli/meat counter...JOSE? He gave me great recommendations for deli meats and what cheese to go along with them. He was solid with his understanding of the various roast beef options. Not so much: Destiny, the cashier, was in another world when she was ringing up my groceries. I said hello to her and she seemed to have looked through me and didn't say a word the entire time I was at the check out counter...even when she handed me the receipt. read more

When I used to live in Chicago we always shopped here. Good prices on groceries. Also they sell cakes and they were amazing!

This has been the 3rd time I have been in this market, I have come to learn their famous meat area is not what it's cracked up to be. I bought 2 steaks, one porterhouse and one ribeye. They were both seasoned and cooked to perfection. The ribeye was tough as a work boot. That was a complete waste of time. The porterhouse was average at best. I was at Tony's a few days ago and I seen a guy open multiple egg cartons and switch the eggs in and out of cartons I told the manager and he said yeah so which is so unprofessional especially during this pandemic (covid 19, corna virus) he didn't even care. I been coming to this store for years I stop going because of this. I always have a problem with spoiled meat to 50% of the time I have to throw the meat out or return it. I'm not a fan of Tony's. The location is dirty, the prices are high, and the "fresh" items are not very fresh. I have personally caught them changing the expiration dates on baked goods like cakes, and meats. If you look closely, you can sometimes see on expiration sticker on top of the other. If you must, I recommend only buying non perishable items from here and move along. Unfortunately, there is no major grocery store nearby. read more

Pretty strange layout at this store - only one entrance/exit. This sort of disturbs the flow through the store, as you have to walk in front of all of the checkout lanes in order to enter the actual store. However, once you're in, the good stuff begins to happen. The baked goods and prepared foods are well priced and tasty. I checked out some pierogi and egg rolls made on site, and they were both very nice - corn muffins were also great. Prices on a lot of imported food items were somewhat lower than I have seen at say, Marianos. Space is kind of limited, so you won't find the biggest selection here, but regardless, I was pretty impressed by this Tony's. read more

This location has been a Tony's Finer Foods for a couple of years. I was out in the area with my sweetie and we needed to get some grocery shopping done. Since they had a good sale going on I made the executive decision to go here before we went back into the city. I made this decision with many reservations. I remember when this location used to be a Shop N Save. I was here once before and I never returned because it was a worn down, dirty pit. Tony's did an excellent job of cleaning the place up and making it respectable again. The place is immaculate and very well lit. The aisles are tidy and well organized and well stocked. The selection is simply outstanding as this could really be a one stop shop for everything that you need. Tony's is known for their value and this place is no different. The only thing odd about this place is an odd floor plan. There is a wall in a weird place so you can't make a complete circle around the store. This was a minor inconvenience as we had to back and get some stuff but this can easily be forgiven. read more

I like Tony's. I used to love Tony's before 'Shop and Save', but I still like it. The only issue I have here is their brand name product selection leaves a lot to be desired and the whole store smells like fish. I do not like that at all. I have not bought any seafood here. They do have a decent produce selection, nice dessert/bakery items (think Caputos), and a competitively priced deli case. You can pick up Krakus ham for 3.99 a pound all the time, most popular sandwich cheese 2-4/lb and they have the best roast beef, made in house. It's Tony's Roast Beef au jus, if you get it on sale you'll pay 4.00 a pound and you get a quart of juice per pound, or however much you want really. It is awesome beef. Beats any beef I've picked up anywhere else for sandwiches. Please remember , boil your juice, turn off the heat, then add your beef. I learned the hard way :( read more

I purchased Ribeye steak on 6/15/2018 labeled to be used or sold by 6/21/2018. I opened the package on the 17th to cook and the steak SMELLED RANCID. When I showed it to my son he found a posting on Facebook with a sealed package of meat with maggots on it from Tony's. Now I can't even look at their sale paper. This has been a great experience on Christmas Day. Tonys finer foods was open and I was able to pickup some delicious fried chicken. I asked the grocer, Jeanette, if she had any more fried chicken. She offered to make more fresh fried chicken for me if I could wait 20 minutes. I was delighted and Jeanette even packaged 2 buckets for me. Most of the time I do not have an issue here but a couple of days ago I go there and they have someone at the door enforcing people to wear masks. Which I agree with but half the staff is wearing their mask on their chins or below their noses. When I made a comments to the person working the self checkout he shrugs his shoulders and walks away. The good is that, depending on what you need for the week, you might find it here as a reasonable price. I never tried their fresh seafood but their meat at their butcher counter does just fine. Their deli is probably their best selection out of all the service oriented stations throughout the store. Fruit & veggies selection are decent enough - you're not going get some exotic fruit that you haven't heard off. When it comes to can goods, again, decent enough for a place that caters towards to the neighborhood that falls into the mixture of white American working class, the growing Middle East immigrants, Mexicans and Polish. If you want a wider selection of Eastern European items go to Shop & Save south of Harlem. I never really had a true negative experience with the workers, be it at the butcher section, the deli or paying. The only experience that irritated me the wrong way, once I reflected on it, is when I asked twice, on separate visits, about canned good to the same employee he didn't know where it was saying, with a smile and somewhat broken English "I don't know. I just started here." No, you did not "just started here" because I asked you a question two weeks ago AND your face registers in my memory bank since you were here last year as well. I will guess that is what management told him to say when people ask a question. Note to management or whoever does the hiring: Make sure your employees, those stocking the shelves, know where things are. I don't care if they've been working there a week. They should know where every single item is, and if they don't at least send the customer to a person who does. Also hire people who can speak decent enough English besides the "I don't know. I just started here," line because I have a gut feeling that's all he knows. You're not in Mexico anymore, buddy. You get the American paycheck every two weeks, you get the better lifestyle, then at least attempt to speak the unofficial language and know where items are. read more

I don't know about the other Tony's stores but this Bridgeview Tony's Finer Food looks like a warehouse. They pile up all the grocery and produce just in front of the entrance which doesn't allow people move around. Customers frequently hit each other just because the entrance is blocked with all those piles of items. When I talk to so-called "managers" about this DISGUSTING appearance, they say call the corporate office and talk to Antonio and Dominick, the owners. Sometimes, the fruits at the entrance release very bad smell around and make customers leave the store even without shopping. Another important problem is that the cashiers' and SOME customer service employees very RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL treatment of customers. I have to choose nice cashiers to pay for my purchase (Nancy, who has been working there for over a decade since the Shop&Save Store, is one of the best cashiers). The deli and bakery department employees are the best in the whole store. Supervisors/managers (except Misrael) don't even care even if you go and talk about any problem you experience). They never care if the empty carts are left in the aisles, entrance or the carts filled with trash are standing in the middle of the store -and they keep them there for hours -and blocking the way (please take a look at the pictures below). We hope the corporate management takes customer complaints seriously or the store will keep losing customers even though the prices are convenient and it offers a rich variety of grocery, produce, meat, bakery, and deli items. read more

This store have weekly specials that draw folks in from all over. I like a good deal like the rest of the world, BUT I wish this place would hire some more help for the deli counter. I live within walking distance from this store so it could have easily become my store for all my grocery needs. But that's not gonna happen and here's why..... I've been here a few times, the last two times I had a terrible experience at the deli counter. Same girl both times. The first time, I noticed she was rather pissy in general, no smile, did the bare bones of being a deli girl, and that was it. I didn't think much of it as I had a busy day and didn't give much attention to it. The second time was last week.... She called my number and asked what I wanted, I told her and before she proceeded to grab the meat to slice, she said to me "what else?'. I thought that rather odd because usually they do what you want as you go along but I blurted out salami to satisfy her. So as she was preparing my fourth item, I noticed she went over on the weight for all the items, not by much but over. As she goes to hand me the package she tells me that it was a little over and was that ok. I said yeah, that's fine they're all a little over but don't worry about it. She that shoots me a dirty look which was even clearly noticeable to the man standing next to me and says, "No I didn't!" I than repeated myself and showed her that indeed she did. She gives me another dirty look and the man standing next to me says, "Wow, she's got a real attitude!" I sarcastically belt out to her, "Thank You so much and have a nice day!" I decided to tell the manager as I think they should know when customers are being treated poorly. She was very nice and she told me that they've had a lot of complaints about her and that she would handle it. If that's true why is she still employed here, I thought. As a consumer, I like to shop where I feel like my business is appreciated. I equate attitude and poor customer service with lack of appreciation. Even if that means shopping at a store with higher prices or a further drive to a store that understands this, than that is what I will do. read more

Great place! This place is a nice example of the cultural melting pot that is Bridgeview. From the merchandise on the shelf to the diverse shoppers and employees. It's diplomacy at the grass roots democratic level! Everyone is equal at Tony's! The only challenge may be those shopping carts dispersed throughout the parking lot. My poor car gets scared sometimes. Also, few organic food options, and it tends to be more expensive than Whole Foods. Went there today around 9.30 pm. The ladies who work at cash register dropped a whole container of guacamole on the floor right in front of me at a checkout line. it splashed on my clothes and my eyes and she did nothing! !! Not even say sorry to drop it or ask me if I'm ok . Tony's has the cheapest name brand food in town! Some stores have great prices but not name brands. (Aldi?) Some stores have great prices but not a big selection. (Harvest Time?) Some stores have great selection but their prices could use a little improvement. (Dominick's?) Tony's combines all the great things of grocery shopping. Selection. Prices. Quality. A gallon of milk was on sale for $1.88, Brownberry Whole Wheat bread was $1.99, and Deli meats were only $3 to $5/lb. We bought a pork roast on a Friday, put it on the fridge and went to cook it on Sunday, it was bad. They exchanged it,.but the new one had a roll of fat tucked inside of it. That's not the first time I've been disappointed in their meat I bought New York strip steak and even though my husband is an expert filler, they were tough as nails.
