We bought a pork roast on a Friday, put it on the fridge and went to cook it on Sunday, it was bad. They exchanged it,.but the new one had a roll of fat tucked inside of it. That's not the first time I've been disappointed in their meat I bought New York strip steak and even though my husband is an expert filler, they were tough as nails. I have been going to Tony's for a number of years. I do like the variety of produce, canned goods and spices. However, I haven't liked their meat or seafood for sometime. This weekend I made some blade lamb chops that were disgusting. These chops had so much fat and bone that there wasn't anything to eat on them. The chops plus salmon steaks that have consistently been sold with blood clots attached to them has just made Fair Play in Oak Lawn my new store for meat and fish. read more

Always very clean and very well stocked. Great weekly sales. Wear your jacket, beacuse it is always cold! Feels great in the summer though! The only negative would be the entrance setup. People are fighting to enter and exit in the same small area. Rated a 5 star! read more

I love this grocery store. They have all kinds of ethnic foods, if you are looking for something hard to find. Also the meat and produce prices are very, very awesome. The only bad thing about this place would be the parking lot. The people that shop there are crazy parkers, so beware if you have a new car =). Also the lines are very long on the weekends, and that kinda sucks, but the prices are well worth it! read more

Stop using INSTACART ! They are thieves! I made a purchase on Monday and INSTACART SHOWED ME AN INVOICE FOR GROCERIES ONLY OF 208.00! When I got my groceries the replaced 47.00 of my order with non requested items. I also found my store receipt all balled up in a bag. So I looked at receipt and found the store receipt was only 157.00! So I opened a complaint about the replacement of food without asking or giving an option and why was there such a price difference from there online receipt to the store. The first reply I received a 47.00 credit for next visit. They said that the receipt would balance out the next day cause they always add more to the card so you can add items. I explained the amount added came to 240.00 was on hold from my account. She then said some stores do pricing different and they will look into it! I asked if someone could call me no reply. So I requested again to speak to someone. Meanwhile I took the 47.00 credit and was going to order what they failed to bring from another store. It would not go through it kept saying my card was denied! So I contacted my bank and she explained no money has been presented from instacart as was done earlier in the day. Representative then said my card is fine and they see no issue. The next morning I tried again and it declined again. I checked my account and they had credited all of the account from the day before for all my groceries. So basically they won't return my call and gave me my money I should have nothing to say about catching them charging me there fees plus an additional 50 dollars (stealing)! Well how many times before have they stole from me for I am disabled and used them every week. I have never received a receipt from the actual store. So it's just one big scam! They should be shut down for this and I am forwarding all of my documents to th Attorney General! SHOPPER BEWARE!!!!!!! read more

Produce section so fresh and so clean. Not crazy about the meat prices. Deli section always has some specials. Overall good place to grocery shop, conveniently close to other stores that are highly used. read more

Tony's is a clean well-run store with lots of "leader" specials that make Jewel and Dominicks look like thieves. Their deli is well stocked with every conceivable meat and cheese as well as homemade salads that are outstanding. Produce area and bakery takes up 1/3 to 1/2 the store and I have never bought anything that wasn't super fresh. I like that their meat dept regularly stocks lamb for low prices and chicken that is just beyond cheap! Good place to go for dairy, eggs and can goods. Recent renovations have made this a great place to shop-and if Tony's doesnt have it Shop and Save across the street will. Down with Jewel's I've had enough of their $3.00 a head lettuce! read more

The store is often dirty and disgusting, several times family and friends have found expired products. Muslim management are rude and ignorant to elderly senior citizens. Store is poorly ran and my family, and friends will never go back! Meat selection is probably the worst I have found anywhere. Employees and cashiers are rude and lack any customer relations, the management is the problem. Even the employees often complain of mice and rat droppings found in coolers. Again, Muslim management treat American customers like dirt. Good luck finding anyone who speaks English. The Muslim and Hispanic management are disgusting and ignorant. They have run that store into the ground. read more

I'm a Mexican American I go to Tony's because there is no other place to buy Mexican ethnic food so I appreciate the fact that it's on 87th and Harlem so I drive from where early to go to that store I have been going there 16 year 87th and Harlem so I drive from where are you to go to that store I have been going there 16 years or less and every trip in that store I have people follow me around look in my cart and today to go as far as to follow me all the way to my vehicle so I called the kid who retrieve the carts and he confirmed that they were following me his excuse was they get ripped off a lot my retort one I've been coming there 16 years you figure that your manager or someone would recognize me because I'm there 3 to 4 times a week and that they would not have me go through the embarrassment of being followed around. read more

on Dec. 14,2012 around 9:30 P.M. my husband and i went grocery shopping, we noticed that one of the produce was on sale and we decided to take it. When we got to the register to pay for our items we noticed that the cashier over charged us on that specific produce, when we brought it to her attention she send us to the manager. The so called manager called one of the staff members through a wakie takie and told him to check the price on the produce..as soon as we heard this my husband went to see as well. When my husband got to where they had the produce he saw the staff memeber crumble the sign and hide it in the lettuce box..my husband got furious and told him to hand over the sign and understood it wasn't his fault for not taking it down if the item wasn't on sale anymore. When my husband came back he explained what he had saw, I showed the sign to the manager and told him he should grant the price to what the sign read. He laughed and said that was last weeks sale and that he couldn't do anything for us. I've been shopping at this place for the longest and had to put up with the cashiers attitude and eye rolling but stealing money from us is something I will not tolerate! Worst service and waste of payroll on this manager.. Never will I be shopping here again read more

Tony's has always had great produce (the only reason why I shop here) but with that big chain closing, their prices have skyrocketed. I do not buy meat or seafood here because it usually smells bad back by the counter. Their baggers are horrible. It is to the point where I wonder if they damage your produce on purpose. I CONSTANTLY find bananas, tomatoes, and other delicates at the bottom of the bag under cans or melons. Just recently, the girl dropped the honeydew melon from the top of the bag. I heard bounce. She started dropping in more on top. I told her to pull out the melon and take it off my bill. Today, a pineapple was stacked on top of my tomatoes. I'm missing a lime which were 2/$1, so now I paid $1 for one!. With the increased prices, it really isn't worth shopping here anymore. I find it to be ironic that produce can ship 1000's of miles from the fields of Guatemala, in pristine condition, only to arrive at the end of the check out line at Tony's, to be squashed, bounced, smashed, or otherwise destroyed. i went there today had my list and of course nothing is stocked again had my 2 mnth granddaughter with me and was told i would have to wait 15 to a half hour for meat (299 rumps and 68 ham) neither were in stock 1st day of sale manager went back when i asked for a rainchk the girl in cust serv raina? very rude ! would not give me rainchk said i would have to wait.if this is the way you do buisness dont open in countryside we will not stand for this! and this is not the 1st time you had no meat in add bythe way your manager said he had to fire two meat guys today for steeling.then maybe you should hire someand pay some compitant help! mary k read more

My only question is do they have papaya's there .. i can never find them in the store and everyone keeps saying they have em... i really am frustrated because papaya's are the healthiest fruit that you can possibly put in your body.. and if you actually care about your life and health you need to eat them everyday! read more
