First of all, Tony is one of the kindest people and is always so excited to chat with you about any and everything- especially his work. I thought you could just walk in (don't- call first!) and just showed up, but Tony made the time for me even though it was the holidays. I brought in a limited-edition Chanel bag that was still beautiful but had a lot of water damage and couldn't hold its shape/stand up on its own anymore. Tony explained everything that was wrong or needed to be fixed and said he would love "the challenge" if I wasn't in a rush. It took about a month (I wasn't in a rush), and boy was it worth it. He totally restored the bag and increased its value (he says) multiple times over (although I don't plan to ever sell). He had to inject each of the bag's bubbles with new filling, as the original was partially disintegrated inside every single one. He also added strong and malleable wiring throughout the bag to bring it back to its original shape. He is a cosmetic surgeon for leather goods, and truly no one else can fix/restore leather goods like Tony can. He also gave me a great price for my first time. He has a lifelong customer in me now. I usually don't do reviews unless I'm blown away by the business. This is one of those times. I recently purchased a new Visvim leather jacket that came with a thread that came undone from a few stitch holes on the shoulder. The retailer I purchased the jacket from only had one of my size, so I couldn't exchange. Usually I wouldn't care about a trivial flaw, but it was unraveling every time I wore it so I had to fix it. I called everyone I could throughout the Orange County / Los Angeles area and found Tony. He was the was the only person that agreed to help and I'm glad he was the one who did. I'm extremely picky, but Tony is also extremely picky and accommodated all my small requests. When he completed the jacket the first time, he accidentally burned off too much loose thread and instantly offered to redo the whole jacket again at no charge. The completed work was so clean that you would never know there was any alteration done. If you were to take anything away from this review, it's to bring any sort of leather goods to Tony to fix. I recently purchased a new Gucci Diana bag, and went on vacation to Japan. While traveling, I managed to badly scratch my new bag. A deep, long scratch, across the front of the bag. I was devastated, and called Gucci, who were not very helpful. Their only solution was to mail it to their warehouse in New Jersey to have it inspected. Enter Tony. My husband dropped the bag off with Tony, and a few days later, it was as good as new. This review is long overdue. Tony is a true craftsman. One of the last of his kind. A perfectionist. There is a reason why his Yelp reviews averages higher than any other business of any type I've seen across my 10 years on Yelp: 4.96 (yes- I did the math using his 54 five-stars and 1 three-star- which came from a person that also thought that he's excellent, but was unwilling to pay the man what he's worth. I'm a specialized doctor. I trained for 13 years at Harvard, Stanford, and UCLA. My hourly is quite high, understandably- not because of the materials or medicines I work with, but rather the knowledge and what it took to attain it. Tony trained at Chanel and has worked with high end leathers for about 5 decades. That knowledge- what to do, what not to do, what materials to use, what to avoid- is hard to come by. And he wields it well. He is enthusiastic about his craft, kind, helpful, and an all around 'mensch' (I believe would be the right Yiddish word that perfectly describes him.) He turned an authentic 1990's heirloom Hermes Birkin purse with so much damage from regular daily use, into a like-new beautiful, wearable piece of art that my wife absolutely loves. Yes, it took some time and money, but this is something my wife's going to use on special occasions for years, that we're going to hand down to our daughter, and she to her daughter one day. I drove an hour and half to take my wife's Chanel Double Flap to Tony and I was so glad I did. He is the guy to go to. Tony is awesome. You walk in and immediately know he loves his job. This review is based on embossing/engraving. This is a long overdue review that I've been meaning to write, but when the holidays start, is when you forget to write a lovely review for Tony! My team and I decided to buy Longchamp passport wallets for our clients as a holiday gift. We wanted to personalize them and make it special for our clients, therefore, we agreed to engrave first, middle and last name initials on the wallets. I called 1 prior place that was much cheaper than what Tony was charging, but the quality of work that I saw online AND at his shop.... was the place to get this done on 34 wallets. He didn't have the colors I wanted to engrave the initials with, BUT he managed to get them in 1 day and finished the work within 1 week (not even). The wallets came out beautifully, see pictures! Aside from his work, Tony is honest and ensures his word to you. He will either tell you if he can get the work done or not. Let me tell you a story. I did everything wrong. I put a name tag sticker on my jacket. Already a mistake. Then I took it off, essentially stripping the epidermis. Then I read online that oil would help, so I used olive oil--the worst possible. Oh, and it's lambskin, which is among the most delicate kinds of leather. Basically, I destroyed my favorite jacket. Ladies (& gents), we all know how devastating it can be to see a beloved purse start to show its wear & tear. I had a classic Chanel bag that was pretty scruffed up - I had stopped carrying it around because I was too overwhelmed by the idea of even searching for someone to fix the bag. Fortunately, I found Tony via some Yelp reviews & also heard he did some work for Sak's (is this true?) Since I live in the bay area, I had to time it well so that I could get the bag to him during my Christmas trip down to LA. I called him about 2-3 weeks before to schedule some time with him and he was so friendly and helpful, asking detailed questions about the bag and asking me to text photos. He gave me a price quote over the phone (which he honored) and assured me that he can do the work, even with my short time in LA. A couple weeks later, I came by his studio and dropped off the bag. He was kind enough to show us some pieces he was working on, to help put our mind at ease, I suppose. His work - as can be shown by the pictures - was immaculate! I am very disappointed with the result. I brought my bag that was a classy baby blue color but damaged by oil stains. Tony promised that stains are going to be fully removed and color would be as blue as it was like the leather inside the bag. Please see the results below. Stains are still there and are not fully removed. Color of the bag is weirdly greenish/yellowish now. My baby blue color on the bag is gone in front. It looks like "whatever" product he applied to remove stains, removed the color and lost its pigmentation. I paid for a ruined bag $1200. He promised it would be between $850-1200 and he tried to charge me $1350 justifying that he had to run an extra mile. Well, I don't know where he ran, but the bag is not fixed. I am overcharged. Tony continued disagreeing on obvious mistakes I was pointing out. It's very sad to see that my bag only had stains before I brought it in and now its not only stains but also has green pigmentation and discoloration in some places. Tony didn't offer any remedy, he was very proud of his work and he tried to charge me more than quoted price. I trusted him because he is very good at selling himself. I got caught in it, my bad. This review is for a couple months ago: I came in to get my YSL bag fixed. The tassel was missing some strands and the SAs at YSL up the street on Rodeo weren't willing to work with me even though I'm a frequent customer. Anyways, Tony basically helped me by flipping the tassel around to hide the missing strands from the front. According to the SA, this was impossible to do without sending it back to Paris.. but Tony did just that :-) Oh yeah, and he also helped me put an additional hole into my Gucci belt.
