Coming into this establishment, I was a little bit unsure what to expect by appearance of the restaurant. It's definitely a hole in the wall. I got a sausage, egg and cheese on a plain bagel with home fries. I was pleasantly surprised. My meal was tasty, and their coffee was pretty good. The bill was very reasonable for 2 people. Great breakfast and lunch fare in one of the most unassuming locations out there. The food is about as good as it gets as a greasy spoon and the servers are always friendly and attentive. Where else can you get a full-sized breakfast to order for under $10? Outside of breakfast the eggplant parm sandwich is absolutely flawlessly executed in its simplicity. Soft kaiser roll, crisp eggplant, sharp parmesan and homemade sauce make for an amazing mid-day meal. I truly love this place and hope it never changes. This is a quaint nice Mom & Pop diner. It's really secluded and you can really miss this place if you're not from the area. There are a few tables and medium counter for seating. We received our breakfast within 15 minutes of being seated. I hear the weekends are waiting line busy. My breakfast was served hot and very delicious. The Italian sausage was my favorite. I ordered 1 pancake on the side and it was huge. The price was really reasonable too. read more

The food was fine. Nothing to write home about. If you care about COVID safety this isn't your spot - I joked that we went to a super-spreader breakfast. Of all the waitstaff there was 1 who seemed to care about (including those making your food) keeping her mask on. Anyone behind the counter was not wearing a mask - including the person working the register (who encounters SO MANY people a day). Our waitress had hers hanging under her nose. The tables are close together with no restriction. No 6-ft distance. When we arrived all of the tables were full and were barely 2 feet, let alone 6 feet apart. I could see the ventilation system and it wasn't one where you could set aside your worries about the recycling of the COVID in the air. My omelette was fine. It was basically scrambled eggs with mushrooms and American melted ON TOP. So, meh. The potato's were basically tasteless square French fries. I like a greasy spoon and this spot is nearly walking distance from home - and I still wouldn't go back. I could make my own food for cheaper and it would taste better (sans a side of COVID). read more

I can attest that this little luncheonette has some tasty sandwiches and if your stopping in for breakfast. You will be glad you did. Two of my sisters have worked here. They were always bragging about the good crowd of people they served meals to and often complimented the food too. To all your regulars out there... Rose Panera and Joanne Boobar are my sisters. Two of the most amazing food servers. I'm sure Tony would agree. I think Joanne is still there. Not sure though. Haven't seen her in a while. Be sure to request her as your server. She'll take good care of you. Rose too if she happens to be back again. She's pretty busy though I'm there early spring and all summer running her own business. If you ever heard of Sweet Rose's Twisted Lemonade then you know my sister Rose Panera. It's a vending business and she sells all over South Jersey and the surrounding areas. Philly too, I think. It's set up like a small diner where people can quickly go in and out, grab their food, eat, and carry on with their day. You can see if the cooks scrambling eggs and flipping pancakes while you sip on your OJ and wait for your meal. The service was fast, the menu was easy to choose from, and the home fries were delicious! I had scrambled eggs, toast, bacon ($2.60), and OJ ($2.45). The hubby had a mushroom omelet ($5.75) and coffee ($1.55). Both were satisfying and kept us full for the day. We also shared a side of the home fries ($1.75), which were yummy! Great little spot, delicious food... however while sitting and waiting for my food I noticed no one was wearing gloves all the staff was touching their faces and then touching and handling food without washing their hands after touching basically everything. never did i see anyone wash their hands. WELL worth the effort it took to find this place! I thought my navigation was acting up, so I called for directions. Turns out, navigation was spot on, but you would never see this place (or any signage) from the street. As a matter of fact, you could be right in front and still miss it! When I entered I suddenly felt "what have I done?". Chairs had ripped covers and probably a little make over would help, but still gave it a chance. Once the waitress came over and started serving us I knew the customer service would be great. Love the open kitchen while food is being cooked on front of the customers. To me this is a statement that you have confidence in the way you cook at the point that the customer is allowed to see what happens. The food came to my table exactly the way I asked for it and it was steaming hot the way I like it... Just out of the grill. They speak to their customers by their names and even asked them if they were still hungry after they were done with their meal. If I had to guess the reason why this place is rated so highly it has to be because of portion size to price ratio. I can't really see what else it could be. Tried it twice unimpressed. Cold cut hoggie sandwich was boring and the cheesesteak was your standard frozen slab of meat on a roll grilled with onions (open kitchen) that just couldn't hold up to the contents. Mush fest.
