This was my second time going there for breakfast. I enjoyed the same item both times - an eggs Benedict on fried green tomatoes I believe. It was most definitely worth the drive. The coffee is even better. My guest also had a French toast that she says was fully worth the wait to drive there for us. The diner itself is eclectic with a mix of metal and wood that feels comfortable and inviting. It shows the eco friendly mindset promoted as you arrive on the lot. My partner and I driving down from AC decided to stop at 'just a diner' but this place is anything but. Kind staff, fresh ingredients, food made with intent and true care...this is not just your average diner. This place, guised as a diner, had truly fantastic service, food, ambiance, and care. "Wait, I thought this was a diner...?" crossed my mind as we were treated so well, the menu offering a myriad of options. 10/10 would recommend and it seems like the locals have caught on to the charm of this place. Harley Dawn is a casual diner with a modern vibe. Polished cement floors, floor to ceiling windows, wooden table tops with metal legs. There's a patio with umbrella seating during warmer weather. It can occasionally be loud when a motorcycle goes by, but that's brief. It's very pleasant given that it sits on a busy road. It's surrounded by bushes and shrubs and makes it feel cozy. They serve breakfast all day, and have a traditional breakfast menu. Check out the Eggs Benedict options, and the local/state options. Be sure to ask what the soup of the day is if your server doesn't offer them. Today was crab bisque and carrot bisque. I had the carrot bisque- yum! One in our party had crab cakes- you can order them several ways-broiled, baked, fried. I didn't taste hers, but she orders them frequently at Harley Dawn so they must be good! They were Aesthetically appealing- served on a bed of lettuce, with choice of two sides. I had the bbq pork sandwich that was topped with cheese and onion crisps. It had just enough bbq sauce to give it a nice flavor. It was a tad salty! Instead of fries I had the mashed potatoes and brown gravy. It tasted off to me a bit. Another friend ordered the Taste of Tucson Salad. It was Layers of delicious flavor! Chicken seasoned nicely and dressing that was homemade. It had corn, beans, tomatoes, jalapeños, onions...it was large! ! Our waiter was VERY patient with us. He checked on us no less than 6-8 times, offering refills, dessert, bags for our leftover containers, clearing the table. We were visiting with an out of town friend and sat for 2.5 hours. It wasn't busy so we weren't camping in a spot for other guests. Still he never made us feel rushed! read more

The food was very good. Service was acceptable. I got the Greek salad and it was very good. I especially liked the stuffed grape leaves. But after stirring my salad from bottom of the bowl to get dressing all over I uncovered a fly. Told the server and she told me she would get me a fresh salad. I asked to have it in a to go container cause everybody had finished their food. When I got my salad there were no grape leaves, olives or anchovies, and very little feta, (and the lettuce was already kinda wilted) all of which I ate in my original salad before I found the fly. Beautiful- modern - clean! Not your typical diner lay out. Our food was really delicious - I had the "Ocean City Bennie" - Eggs Benedict with crab cake - phenomenal! Even the home fries, that I usually don't eat, were very good. I love my pancakes - I was disappointed in their slim section of them. Especially no pumpkin! Tis the season - let's go! Our server was very nice but got an order wrong. Well, actually didn't say that they wouldn't make an off menu selection when it was ordered. Nice, stylish, family friendly atmosphere. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Plenty of great food options. This spot has been suggested to me by multiple friends and I finally went to check it out. Started off with not bread and butter but some type of spice/pumpkin loaf cake and butter which was delicious. My entree had great flavor and was cooked well. Portion sizes are great. I look forward to coming back and trying some of the other menu items, all which sound great and seem to have different twists on them compared to a typical diner. read more

Excellent location and construction of said diner. The vibe is bright and cheery. Has good indoor and outdoor seating, indoor having high ceiling and clearance. Open space feeling, great for people with claustrophobia. This place also makes a lot of classic breakfast dishes with a Jersey shore flare; you'll find seafood based dishes here too along with your regular steak and eggs at a really good price! This is probably my fifth time eating at the H D D, and I don't know why it has taken me so long to review it. This place not only has great food, and a very eclectic menu, but is a state of the art facility, named after the owner's daughter, Harley Dawn, they razed the building a number of years ago and started fresh, creating a ecologically friendly building, using their own solar panels to power the new building. I have eaten breakfast, lunch, and dinner here, and have never been dissapointed. This stop was for lunch and MDW ordered her favorite, which is their veggie burger and I was told it was as good as usual. My choice for lunch was a cup of red clam chowder, and their classic cheeseburger, the chowder had a little spice to it and was very flavorful, and the burger was perfectly cooked, it came with fries that I usually just leave because in most places they are 9 out of 10 times the commercial, frozen, institutional, variety, but Harley Dawn's fries are very well seasoned, crispy, and delicous. You can also enjoy your favorite brew, a glass of wine, or cocktail with you meal to had to your enjoyment. If you have some room for desert they make their own great ice cream, and all of their other deserts, and baked goods are all house made. read more

The location is large and nicely decorated. They also had music playing. Service workers were friendly. We were seated right away. Our food was fresh. We got a Ruben sandwich, Salmon salad and a Turkey club. For desert we tried their homemade ice cream, blueberry pie and cookie pie. All were delicious. I recommend this restaurant. One of the best diners I've ever been to. Extensive and varied menu, from thick burgers to breakfasts to food for vegetarians. My Ahi Tuna and Avocado salad was super fresh, with lots of the featured ingredients and a light tahini dressing. My partner's cheesesteak Benedict came with crispy hash fries. Anything but a diner! My sister and I stopped by for lunch and we were so surprised on every aspect of this restaurant. The inside has this great industrial design, they have an outdoor patio, our waitress Emily couldn't have been nicer. She guided us through the large double sided menu. The portions are BIG and the prices are not expensive I had eggs Benedict with mozzarella and tomatoes on this insanely delicious bread. They have homemade pies and ice cream. If you have no room for a full dessert you still should sample at least one flavor of their creamy decedent dessert. I live in NY but am down in South Jersey a lot. My partner had the coconut shrimp salad and I had fish and chips. The food was very good. My fish was very fresh tasting. She enjoyed the fried shrimp in the salad. She forgot to ask to leave out the onions but still enjoyed the salad. My meal came with coleslaw and a salad. I really enjoyed the salad. It had different greens than just lettuce. It came with onions which I liked. The blue cheese dressing was very good. I would have given it 5 stars but teetered back and forth and settled on 4. The ambiance is stark and boomy. Decided to stop by for lunch and we absolutely loved it! The server was super friendly and we were seated quickly. She instantly brought us waters as we looked through the menu. There are soooo many options and everything sounded delicious. I got the southwest quinoa bowl and my fiancé got a pulled pork sandwich with fries. The portions are decent and the food came out fast. I like that there are several healthy options on the menu, which is not always common at diners. They definitely had a good selection of healthy and indulgent foods. The desserts looked absolutely delicious but we were too full to try. Overall, we really enjoyed our lunch. The restaurant is modern and clean and we will definitely be back! read more

Lets start with the only con, the sunlight through the window at the booths adjacent to the main road. Bring some sunglasses or a hat depending on the time of day. The food tasted outrageous and the quantity even crazier. All of us were starving as I remember, yet all took to-go boxes and later shoved it back for a 2nd meal just as filling. Revisiting the pictures I took reminds me just how awesome the whole experience was overall. The "All Jersey" sammy is just that. The fried tomato and pork roll were the highlights for me since they aren't common where I live. The waitress although I forget her name made the experience extremely pleasant. She really went above and beyond and when it came to sides of ranch, she came correct. a decent amount was included for free at our request as we each got tins 3+ ounces. She asked if we'd like any ranch to go, we shrugged and said sure, and all got 3+ ounces to go. I don't believe it was home made ranch but not a drop was wasted. I have been a tremendous fan of this diner - from the great Blueberry coffee to the shore-quality Manhattan Clam Chowder, to their delicious Buffalo Chicken Salad, plus usually friendly service. So it pains me to write any sort of review with a negative slant, but I was very bothered by my experience today visiting the diner. We live about 35 minutes away - certainly a manageable drive, but one we took specifically to eat at Harley Dawn to sit outside on their nice outdoor patio, as we're being cautious regarding eating indoors with Delta variant concerns. We've done so earlier this summer, including July 4th weekend. I went in to check in with the host and get a table outside, and was told, rather unpleasantly, that they were not doing outdoor seating. That was that. This was really disappointing. First, I expect more from an establishment that has the capacity to seat outside to do so to offer options to those concerned about controlling the spread of COVID. Secondly, there were several signs on the door about a staff shortage - I certainly respect what places are going through right now, and it's probably not easy to be flat-out open right now. But what difference would it have made if the 3 of us sat outside directly adjacent to the building? We were in no hurry. I respect the food this place offers enough to keep this at a 3-star. But I don't know that I will be returning anytime soon. read more

My new favorite diner. It's deceiving as a diner because of the clever menu and ambiance. From paper straws (save the turtles) to the to go boxes that are fully recyclable l. I hear that they have solar panels that the businesses runs on. So let's talk about the ecliptic menu of deliciousness. The Poutine fries are to die for. Th burger was real hand formed and dripping with juice. The mans onion rings crisp and perfect. Can't wait to come back and try more things. Then the finale is the pies and ice cream. All home made. I found this place on Yelp as I was planning a brunch date for 5 ppl. The diner is easily located on the BHP. They have a cute outside seating and waiting area; The atmosphere was cozy and had nice decor. The diner inside is small and they adhered to safety protocols. The staff were friendly and informative. Our waitress was helpful with choosing options on the menu and she was quick with placing in our orders. We had mimosas which were delicious. I ordered the "customize" omelette (bacon, cheese & spinach); it was good as well as the home fries and short stack. Overall loved the decor, customer service and food.
