Horizon Books has a nice kids' section, located right in the front of the store. They have some…read morecomfy kid-sized beanbag chairs, a rocking chair, and a table set up overlooking the front window, so kids can curl up with a book and enjoy the view of downtown Cadillac. There are also lots of popular children's books available (lots of Diary of a Wimpy Kid, which is super important), as well as a section of children's books by local Michigan writers and books about the state of Michigan. There's a little cafe here, too. It's not much, but you can get coffee, tea, hot chocolate, chips and other snacks, and some baked goods. There are a few tables in the cafe area where you can sit and enjoy your food and beverages. I was impressed by the number of cute Michigan / Cadillac gifts that were around the store. Things like Cadillac mugs, tote bags, t-shirts, cards and other things. If you're looking for a souvenir or local gift, this is a place to find that.

It's location is very convenience right on Main Street in Frankfort, there was free street parking, is pretty chill, it is nicely decorated on the outside of the cafe inside is decorated okay, except is kinda creepy with dark decoration items like skulls, snakes, etc., I was not greeted as I entered the cafe, the person who took my order was friendly and service was good, I did not need to wait for my order, my coffee and carrot muffin were good, there was plenty of seating including some comfy couch and chair seating, soft music was playing, and there was one restroom and it smelled a little bit.

My burger was delicious and the coleslaw was genuinely the best I've ever had (a wild claim as someone who's lived in the south half their life!). I also ordered a seasonal coffee from their Valentine's menu that was raspberry and white chocolate flavored. I'm not always a fruit flavored coffee person, but River Stop Cafe does it well! Despite it being quite busy during our visit, service was still relatively quick and the ambiance made for an enjoyable wait.
