Had a couple of stubborn stains on my car hood and windshield. I had already tried power washing, goo gone, soap and water, windex and they would not come off. I thought they were bird droppings, but Tony said that it was tree sap. I was ready to get the whole car detailed to take care of it, but he asked if removing the spots was all that I wanted. I said, yes, and he proceeded to take the spots off, one by one. He showed me what to use and how to take them off in case it happens again. He was done with about 15 spots in 10 minutes or so. I asked him what I owed him and he said, nothing. I tried to make him take something for it, but he refused. Thank you so much for the help! If you have a Groupon you will wait months called mid August... he said he did not have an opening till February 24th!! Took my Jeep dropped off at 10:15 am said I could not pick up till 7pm... looked good I the dark... next day in the light I could see all the spray/water marks on the dash... passenger side foot rail muddy... still a lot of dog hair... car did smell nice... would I go there and pay $125+ nope... was it worth the Groupon price for the clean and the wait sure I guess.... Outside of car looked good as well... called for months and tried emailing with no response only reason I got ahold of someone was I actually drove there... read more

Tony was able to get me in as a walk-in first thing in the morning and had the car ready in a super reasonable amount of time. The work performed was above and beyond, everything was spotless and the car looked brand-new. I've got 3 dogs and you'd never know now! Great prices and value. If you have a Groupon you need to wait weeks or months for appointment. If not, you can get the appointment the next morning. Take cash only. Will drive you to shopping malls of your choice and pick-up when work done. I have been charged for $175 for a complete details, asked many times if everything included, and said yes. Said it's a 5 hours work. Took 3.5 hours, don't know how many people working on it. Seems to have 3 other clients when coming back. Didn't carpet wash the top of the inside trunk. Inside windshield window still dirty. Running boards not cleaned at all, gum stuck to it. All visible marks on inside wall, including middle top of front of the car not touched. Sticker mark on back window not removed. Mold on passenger floor not significantly attempted to remove... my wife in 1 minute was able to significantly reduce them. One cup holder still has 1 cm of melted chewing gum... and the list goes on. In front of the owner, I was cleaning the car with my finger and saliva a lot of places non stop and I didn't receive any apology or reaction from the owner. He doesn't care. Oh well I still even had like 6 leafs left between the wiper and the hood. I'm not listing all the things I still have to clean to get the job done. I will have to work on it around 2 hours more. read more

Tony offered personal service, and a level of care that I sought on a reasonable budget. I needed a detail on short notice, and every other place was booked out for a week, but Tony fit me in, and he and his crew did an exceptional job. My car was a dump, and they made it gleam inside and out. There were no price mark-ups, or hidden add-ons; it's one price, for a full detail and wax. I couldn't be more pleased, and I now have no need to shop around for detailing ever again. You know that feeling you get when you know you've found the best person around at something? That's Tony. And he seems to be a neighborhood legend: no fewer than 6 cars that drove by while I was dropping my car off honked and waved out the window, "Hey Tony!" I needed a place to get my 2004 Toyota Sienna detailed. It had been awhile and really needed it. I found Tony in Yelp and liked what a lot if people had to say and decided to give him a try. Everything was great. I decided to wait for the car. Tony gave me a ride to a nearby Starbucks and then picked me up when it was done. When I asked him how much bit was, he gave be the Groupon deal price even though I did not go through Groupon. I really appreciated the offer but did not accept it as I did not think I deserved it but I greatly appreciated. The offer. When I saw the car I was very impressed. Super high quality service. I got a fresh new car out of their hands. Every little detail was well taken care of. These guys hand shampooed and wiped everything in a freezing code day. I called Tony on Friday, mentioned I had heard about his Groupon offer and asked what that entails. He explained the detailing process but said that he's booking out until June for Groupons! I explained to him that, unfortunately, I couldn't wait that long as my car was broken into and window smashed so I was looking to get all the glass out ASAP. Tony was extremely understanding and said that he'd be able to take me as a walk-in and even asked if I was available that day! I wasn't free on Friday so he said if I dropped it off on Saturday that he would fit me in somewhere before the end of the day. When I picked it up on Saturday evening it looked amazing, like new! Tony doesn't have a fancy waiting room with a Kuerig coffee maker, but his employees are very helpful and their work is flawless. They even found a couple of items that had been missing for years. I've had a few bad experiences with other detailers so I was a little hesitant. Everyone is very friendly and they literally made my car look like it's just rolled out of the factory. We had a Groupon voucher and had to wait a year for an appointment to get an interior/exterior cleaning. We left the car overnight the night before the next day's 10:00 am appointment and the pickup time wasn't until 5:00 pm. I tipped at 25% of the cost before I even saw the car because they were nice people. I was told that we would have to keep the windows open overnight to dry out the interior (it was December). I got into the car and the seats were soaking wet and there was a chemical smell inside the car. I read that Tony's prides themselves on using just soap and water to clean their cars. Really? That is not what I smelled. The windows were not cleaned. The wheels were not washed. And the car was not waxed. Maybe a wax is not included, I don't know. But I would think that cleaning the windows and wheels would be included with a full interior & exterior cleaning, wouldn't you? I wasn't really happy with the service. I wouldn't go back there and I'm not happy that I tipped them so well. That's my fault entirely. read more

So I bought a Groupon for Tony's Recon in Peabody to have my car detailed and I'm very unhappy. While they did do some of the small details, such as cleaning the dusty vents, they missed some really obvious stuff, like washing the front grill of my car. There's still grim and bugs that need to be cleaned off. On the inside, they basically did a quick wipe-down of the large surfaces and nothing more. I had to go back with the leather cleaner when I got home to get all the spots off the seats that they didn't clean. Apparently dog slobber isn't on the detail 'to-do' list so they left that for me to do. There are lots of little details that they clearly didn't do - like vacuuming between the seat and the door and taking a wet wipe to center console area to get the grim off. I'll just stick to hand-washing my own car from now on because I can do a better job. read more

I wish I could give them a zero, they may do good work but I don't trust them. my recent groupons purchase (purchased (3/7/17) the groupons discount was for $119. with 24 hour notice. when I called them they asked if i had a groupons I said yes and was told they only do groupons the end of August, I then ask if they could do it sooner and was told they could do it the next day with out the groupons, I asked how much would it be and was told $119. that's the same as my groupons and they replied that's there regular price, I filed a complaint with the attorney General for false advertising buyer beware. read more

Excellent customer service. I called to see if they were open on a holiday, and spoke to Tony. They were closed, but after asking me about my situation, he told me to come in anyway. He was incredibly accommodating about what time worked for me. He quickly and effectively cleaned my front seat and surrounding carpet. I just had my car detailed at Tony's and am VERY disappointed. I should have known, when they called me 1-1/2 hours early to pick it up. It was a rainy day and the car was running when I returned waiting for me to get in and drive away. The exterior of the car looked good (it was good when I dropped it off.) , so I drove away. When I stopped and looked more closely, I took out the protective paper in the driver's side foot well and noticed white powdery substance on the carpeting. At first I thought it was dry soap residue, but it wasn't. Upon checking it out more closely to clean it up, the carpet was DRY and untouched. It was a 'wall job'!! I inspected other areas of the car more closely and, AGAIN, found places where there had been NO cleaning - there was mud in the rear of the car - or vacuuming. I also found chemical residue on my console - like a wet rag had been rubbed across the surface and the residual liquid had been allowed to dry - which was not clean and shiny. I took pictures of some of the more egregious issues and sent them to Tony with my complaint. He responded and told me he'd give me a 'redo'. I don't know about you but it was inconvenient for me to go to Peabody, get dropped off and picked up by my son. There was no way I was going back!!! Was Tony pleasant? Yes. Did he apologize? Yes. Did Tony's Recon do it's job? NO! Not even close. I've spent the same $100+ and had cars detailed over the years and been very happy. Tony took the $ and delivered a poor product. Given he was there when I picked the car up (he wasn't when I dropped the car off) and they only do one car at a time, he either didn't look at the car or didn't care. I will NEVER go back to Tony's Recon and I suggest that your money would be better spent elsewhere. read more

I called Tony's Recon one afternoon a few minutes after it had closed for the day. The owner picked up the phone, asked his two employees if they'd be willing to stay for an interior detailing, and the 3 of them waited for 45 minutes for me to arrive and cheerfully detailed my disgusting car which I have never had vacuumed/ steamed/ shampooed in the 5 years I've owned it. Tony charged me literally half of what I was quoted at 2 or 3 other places and was really proud showing me the immaculate finished product which had been crusty with old spilled coffee, road salt and Pringles crumbs two hours before. We bought a group on to give them a try and initially it was a little difficult to set up the appointment as there was quite a bit of backlog from his offer. The place is a little hard to find as the garage is kind of tucked in on a side road. The owner was friendly and after exchanging pleasantries, dropped off the car for about six hours and when off with the day. Upon returning, the car was near spotless. It was a sedan that for the past six months endured a new puppy and the mess that comes from him. Slobber on windows, seats, dirt from the woods, sand from the beach, coffee stains from him bumping me while driving and other biohazards. The outside looked great as well and the car once again looked like when it came out of the showroom floor a year ago. The value was excellent and will be returning to him next month to clean the other sedan that needs a little TLC. read more

We recently had our vehicle detailed for the first time at Tony's Recon. They did an awesome job. The guys were so nice & our car was like new when we picked it up. To give you an idea of what they were up against....we've had our SUV for 5 years. We have 2 small kids & a constantly shedding dog. We showed up w/ our car a total mess. Stickers that the kids had stuck to the windows & probably a years supply of gold fish, cheerios & lolly pop stick littered all over. Horrible customer service, very unprofessional. I bought a groupon to get my car detailed about 2 weeks ago. I immediately called to schedule an appointment. The business owner answered and informed me that for groupons the next available appointment would be in September. I expressed that I wanted an appointment sooner and he said "okay let me check our schedule to see if we can squeeze you in somewhere soon." He called me back and told me that I could bring my car in July 8 for an appointment. He also added that he would call me if there were any cancellations in the meantime. I was very pleased at this point. This morning, July 8 (the day of my appointment), I called to confirm what time I should drop off my car. He told me that he did not have my name on the list for the day and that I could not bring my car in. I, of course, expressed my confusion because he had CALLED ME to tell me that July 8 was available. I said I was disappointed and asked if there was anything he could do to make it right, since it was very clearly an error on his part. He scoffed at me and made very inappropriate comments including "you must have had a dream that we made this appointment," and "sorry, life is hard and sometimes you are disappointed." He did not try to work with me and clearly did not care about portraying positive customer service. He was very rude and incredibly unprofessional. I was excited to find a place that would detail my car so close to home but even with the groupon I refuse to give my business to someone so unprofessional. Groupon, on the other hand, is a very well run business and issued my refund within minutes. I will gladly take my business elsewhere, even if it means paying more. read more

I purchased two Groupons. When I called to make appointments for our cars, Tony asked if I would return one of the Groupons and he would "give me the same deal" as I paid purchasing the Groupon. He said he would be able to schedule me sooner if I didn't use a Groupon. Not sure why it mattered, but I did. First up was my Triple White VW Bug. It looked ok when I picked it up (well after the time promised), but there were smudges on the windows. However, the first time I moved my seat to let someone into the back, I saw that they never cleaned my seat where it hinges, so that white leather was still dirty. When I brought my daughter's car (this time using the Groupon), my name was not on the schedule. I asked for it to be done by a specific time, and once again, it was not. When I picked it up, Tony was not around. There were many spots where wax was not rubbed off (front bumper, doors, rear quarter) and there was a splash of something inside on the passenger side front door. I just had my daughter's car detailed by a reputable owner-operator and HE did a fabulous job...for LESS that I paid for the Groupon. Don't waste your money or your time. read more
