When we want some good filling comfort food, we usually head to Too Jays. Staff is always so nice here and feels homey. The food was hot and came out in good time. Kat was our waitress tonight, and she was the only one working the floor. And she WORKED it. Good for her. She was friendly, efficient, and in good spirits despite being super busy. We never had to wait for drinks or anything with her. The deli dogs are always a go-to for me. Reminds me of back up in New York where I grew up. My husband got the Triple J. It's pumpkin season my favorite do I opted for the pumpkin stuffed french toast with Carmel drizzle. To say YUMMY would be an understatement the portion size was hefty took half home for another meal. We came in for a late breakfast and it was nearly empty at 10am. We were quickly seated and Karly took our drink order. After a few moments she returned to take our food order. Queen Bee had the Neo Scramble, which is eggs, lox, onion, cream cheese, uh: scrambled together. Home fries and rye toast rounded it out. I had TJ's Special Omelette: basically the kitchen sink tossed into a three egg folded omelette. Add a bagel (sesame) and latkes (potato pancakes to the non native NYC gentiles) to round it out for me. Both of 'em were generously portioned and well prepared. The decor is supposed to evoke an NYC Jewish style deli or coffee shop. It sorta did that, with old photos of NYC landmarks and infrastructure scattered about. I only got a photo of the breakfast menu but it's a mere shadow of all the stuff they offer during the rest of the day. Finally, Karly herself was friendly and accommodating without being overly intrusive. I was a bit taken back by her just plopping the check down without checking on us once. However once she figured we WERE finished she asked how we were doing. She gladly brought two little boxes so we could take home the leftovers. She also brought plastic cutlery, extra butter and a takeout bag. She asked how we fared thru Milton. We told her the Readers Digest version and she responded with genuine empathy and compassion. Would I return? If I were around the area again: probably so, but I'd go for something like a Rueben or some other Jewish style deli trappings. They have bagels, pastries and desserts for sale too, along with deli stuff to go. My colleague was very nice to get me a tuna salad from there for lunch. When it came, there were two scoops of tuna salad along with 2 rye bread and various vegetables on top of lettuce. The tuna was filling and delicious, and even had bits of hard boiled egg pieces. There were two of various vegetables including onions, carrots, tomatoes, and olives. It was like a Noah's ark of vegetables. It was fresh and tasty. I am glad I ordered this as it looked healthy and filling. Since I got this togo and my awesome colleague delivered it to me, I didn't see the inside. It's been a long time, but I recall it being pretty casual and laid back. Why would a cook argue with a customer over a piece of cheese? I know it sounds Ludacris, but I have never experienced anything in my life over this when I questioned if there was cheese in a sandwich, she came out and explained how a half a slice of cheese could affect a half a sandwich I will never go there again. read more

The knish and the bagel has always been too at this place even from years back. We had the country fried steak and eggs and the brisket French dip. The eggs were great the rye bread delish the steak was ok a little hard and dry but ok. Had a really good experience at TooJay's today. It's been about 15 years since I've been to one and I have to say the last time I was here I was not impressed. This time I ever say much better experience. We had Jasmyn for our server and she was very good and pleasant. The food was very good. We had the turkey dinner and the Cuban sandwich. Both we much better then expected. If you're like me and have not been here in a while, I would say give it a second chance because the food has very much improved. read more

This used to be a favorite of mine. The food is still good, the service can be spotty. The servers can get easily distracted by serving people they know. When that happens, they often sit down or hang over the friends booth for prolonged conversations. When they do that, you are forced to sit and wait for your food or check. The food prices are constantly raised. I have found alternative eateries that are much more reasonably priced. read more

I loved the Turkey Cranberry Griller. It is a sandwich that is rolled out with the fall menu but is definitely good enough to be served year round. The Turkey Cranberry Griller is made with sliced turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, Swiss cheese and arugula. It is served with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy. We missed our regular server today, Allaysa. She is always so nice and always provides exceptional service and always provides recommendations when I don't have a clue to order. She is always great putting a order on separate plates so the food won't be touching. Ordered the Regular eggs Benedict minus the meat but was still charged for having meat. Wished they had a veggie Benedict. The hollandaise sauce was missing some acid. It needed a fresh squeezed of lemon. The egg was cooked perfectly. Love the home fries. Would of liked to have a choice of bread instead of getting pumpernickel bread. They don't provide military discounts. Coffee could have been better. It reminded me of Army coffee. read more

Very good meal. Loved the brisket. Simple but flavorful. Wish the bread had been grilled or toasted, was pretty plain. Maybe some cheese? Was told it would come on rye, didn't look/taste like it to me but was really good. Sweet potato fries are good. Nothing fancy. Would I order again? Maybe. The price /flavor ratio is unbalanced for what you get. Rueben is pretty good. I've had better but honestly this is the second best I've had ever. Best I've had in Florida. Coleslaw....not much flavor but it felt light and it was ok. Service was really good. Our server said he had only been there for a few weeks but he was helpful with navigating the menu and was happy to go ask a question to find something out if he didn't know. We love TooJay's so my review is bias I will admit upfront. We don't have them in MD so haven't had a dose of TD in 2+ years, in pre-COVID times if you can remember that. There was no way we were going to leave FL without a taste. This was our last day-waiting to catch the nearby Amtrak Autotrain. The bill in the photo is what we ordered while seated. After lunch we went to their deli area and order 1/2 loaf of bread (sliced), ham, and corned beef ToGo. All DELISH!! We weren't disappointed with any of the order. We regret not ordering more of the corned beef and more desserts ToGo. Lesson learned. If you live in FL don't take this place for granted. There facilities aren't fancy places but the food is second to none and that's what I am rating. read more

I have been to this Too Jays location many times over the years. I work in the Lake Mary area, so I am only a hop, skip & jump away. Too Jays is a great place to have lunch with friends, coworkers, and business partners. In my experience, the staff has always been friendly, inviting, and attentive even when they are busy. On my most recent visit, I was able to meet my wife here for lunch. We ordered Coffee ($2.79 each), French Onion Soup ($6.99), the Triple J sandwich ($12.59), and substituted Beer Battered Onion Rings ($1.99 more) for the Cole Slaw. Debbie, our server, was quick to bring out our drinks, French onion soup, and soon after our sandwich. We appreciated that Debbie delivered all of the items in our order close together since we had another errand to run before heading back to work. The French onion soup was fresh, hot, and delicious. The soup was topped with a decent-sized crouton and included just the right amount of provolone cheese. Although I wished there were more onions in the broth, that would not stop me from ordering it again. The Triple J is one of my favorite sandwiches here and has yet to let me down. How could one not love thinly sliced corned beef, turkey, and swiss delicately rolled with Coleslaw and Russian dressing between two fresh slices of Rye? My wife is a Coleslaw fiend, so I figured this sandwich would be a hit, and it was. The onion rings were also freshly made to order and were a perfect complement to the sandwich. Overall, I recommend giving Too Jays a chance if your out-n-about in Lake Mary. Too Jays is a Deli, Bakery, and Restaurant, so there is a good selection of food items to choose from that might not be on the menu. (Such as; daily specials, desserts, candies, and pastries). Came here for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon April 2021. Place was clean and inviting and I really like it here. I love when you first walk in you get to see all the desserts lined up in the glass cases. They also have meals to go where you can pick what you want from the glass cases all at a reasonable price. I was not real hungry so my husband and I split a sandwich and onion rings. He ordered the French onion soup which was delicious. When you first get there sign up for the TooJays rewards and you will get a free slice of cake! I didn't see this until we left but will sign up and get my coupon for another day. I usually love Too Jays but this time we came for Sunday lunch and it was not spectacular. I ordered the pastrami and Swiss omelette with a biscuit and cheese grits. I found the omelette to be dry and a bit overcooked with minimal filling. It seemed most of the Swiss was on top and not abundant inside which is what I would expect. The pastrami was ok but again, there wasn't that much inside so the flavor really wasn't popping. The grits were ok, lukewarm but nothing to write home about. I'm a huge biscuit fan but I found mine to be dry and not warm. My daughter liked her chicken tenders and fries and the coleslaw was delicious as usual. My friend's Belgian waffle was cold so she was disappointed about that. My nieces burger looked good and she enjoyed it so it seems that the lunch items were solid. The bathroom was relatively messy with lots of paper towels and toilet paper on the floor and overflowing in the trash. The service was excellent though! Our server was very friendly and attentive to our larger party of 8. I always love the ambience, as it's pretty consistent. While there, I decided to stop at TooJay's, one of my favorite delis. As usual, when you go by their case of delicious desserts and salads, it helps build anticipation for what you wish to be a delightful lunch. I ordered, as an appetizer, three fantastic potato pancakes. I couldn't ask for anything better and reasonably priced. For my main lunch course, I ordered their classic Reuben sandwich, which came with coleslaw and French fries. The fries were delicious. The coleslaw was relatively tasteless, and the Reuben had about 1/3 of the meat that I had last year, and that is representative in the photo on their menu. Additionally, they were very skimpy on the cheese and the 1000 Island dressing. It was all edible, but on a scale 10, I'll give this Ruben a 2; I would not recommend getting the Reuben. I haven't given up hope on two TooJay's because it has been a cornerstone of Delis, and I'm hoping they didn't ruin other entrees. The price was reasonable. The interior is a typical New York deli, clean but minimal, and the service was excellent. read more
