    Chicken fried steak and eggs

Saturday morning and we arrived with friends who had been here before. The place was full and had several large groups too. Our server was kind, friendly and efficient. She got our drink order and quickly returned to take our order. DH ordered the country eggs Benedict and I ordered the 2 egg plate with hash browns. The food came out quickly and my food was good. DH was expecting a stronger sausage flavor from the sausage in the gravy for his breakfast. It seemed bland to him. Other than that, it was good. Everyone else liked their food. Our server was juggling several large tables. She checked in with us and she was good but didn't come back to give us refills on our sodas. It might have been an off day so we're planning to give them another chance. They're open until 2 so we'll try something else on the menu. They have a lot of choices for breakfast and lunch.

Stopped in for lunch after golf. Food was good, Arnold Palmer was great. Lots of waitresses and very attentive.

A group of us normally visit Osteen Diner on weekends for breakfast. This place is usually occupied by local folk country folk. For me there are other places I prefer more but today wasn't my pick. The service and prices are good at the Osteen Diner. There is always a crowd but we always get a table without waiting. Today I had two eggs, grits and toast with coffee for around $9.50. Everything tasted good and we had great service. Outside there is a pen with a few head of cattle children can feed. Even though I am an elderly guy I enjoy visiting the animals. We will definitely return.

After talking about going here for at least 20 years, now that we live nearby, we finally went. This is definitely an old timey diner. They have an automated dessert case! I havent seen one of those in ages! We will have ti get dessert there next time, they have about 9 kinds of pie, plus other desserts. We had a Osteen double decker (club sandwich) and a Cuban. I should mention here, there menu is quite extensive, with American, Greek, Tex-Mex, Cuban. Italian, Seafood and more, items. Both our sandwiches were great. We saw several things we want to try on return trips.

Just your typical country diner. I came here for breakfast and ordered a chili cheese omelet - delicious. They are very generous with their portion sizes. Even though the omelet was huge, they still serve it with 2 sides. The waitress made sure my coffee cup was always full. Very reasonable prices, speedy service, and friendly staff. 4 stars.

Just real good mom and pop unpretentious diner foodie fare here. For whatever reason, over the years, we've always sort of avoided coming in for no real good reason and what a mistake that was. One of my new found joys. Wonderful Southern comfort foods without the commercial homogeneity you might expect at cracker something or other or something else like it. Perfect, just as you are.

Lovely Easter Brunch on the Patio…read more We came here for Easter brunch and had a really nice experience. I called about 45 minutes before arriving just to see if there was any chance we could get a table. They mentioned they were only taking reservations that day but were kind enough to squeeze us in for 1:30, which worked out perfectly. Raven was our waitress and she was wonderful. Super welcoming, friendly, and attentive the whole time without ever feeling overbearing. My husband and I shared a Caesar salad and the steak and eggs, and of course we had to order mimosas (two each... because brunch ). Everything came out fresh and tasty. One small personal preference, and this might just be me, but I would have liked the Caesar salad lettuce to be chopped a bit smaller instead of the larger pieces. Not a deal breaker at all, just something I noticed. The steak was cooked well. I wouldn't say it was the best steak I've ever had, but it was definitely good. What really stole the show for me was the chimichurri sauce. I could honestly eat that by itself with the potatoes, it was that good. We sat on the patio and were a little worried it might be too hot, but it was nicely shaded and they have fans going, so it was actually very comfortable. The only time we got a little warm was after our second mimosa... but that might be on us Overall, it was a great experience and we'll definitely be back.

On Saturday's, they do a bottle of champagne for $20 and it wasn't the cheapest stuff in town! Our server was amazingly helpful, gave great recommendations and helped make our visit special. Everything is true farm to table so the menu rotates. But the dishes we had were divine. We split the savory crepe that was an egg crepe with mash potatoes, sausage and a sage brown butter sauce. Other item split were the haute pocket and steak flatbread. You can tell a lot of thought is put into the menu items and blending of flavors. We for sure will return!

In town on a work trip, my husband, and I decided to try this place out! What a wonderful surprise! From the moment you walked in the eclectic, industrial, modernized, warm, cozy feel welcomes you in. Our server was friendly and attentive, and we knew right away that this place was a find! A wonderful happy hour menu, led us to a full menu of what felt like a farm to table experience. I sadly didn't get to snap a photo of the excellent appetizer buratta, but it was a perfect blend of balsamic tomato and creamy cheese! I am a true foodie, and this was hands-down the best burger I've ever eaten. My husband absolutely loved his shrimp and grits, perfectly cooked and well balanced flavor. Well, I know everyone recommends the chocolate cake, I can't rave enough about the crème brûlée. Do yourself a favor and go out of your way to enjoy a " private chef experience" meal! You will be glad you did!

The restaurant is nicely decorated but the acoustics were horrible. It WAS SO LOUD that it made the dining experience suffer greatly. We sat upfront to avoid the noise but could barely hear one another across the table. But again the food was wonderful. Not a single dish disappointed. Many, many complements to the chef and his staff.

After a few dinners here, hands down my favorite place in The Villages. Often times when visiting…read moreThe Villages I have to temper my expectations as to food quality and flavor. But when I first visited Harry and the Natives about 6 months ago I realized this place was different. Now, I can honestly say it's a place 'I look forward to' vs. a lot of The Villages food options which are 'places i settle for'. Pricing is fair for the quality you get. The drinks are Tiki inspired and delicious (I highly recommend the Village Dodo) and you can tell they pride themselves of freshness and quality. They have some of the best crab cakes I've ever had, a bit pricey but they are almost 100% crab (almost not binder/filler) and if you know the price of crab these days you'd understand the pricing. For me, a Village Dodo drink, Filet Mignon medium rare 'surf and turf' style with a crab cake, and creamed spinach side served outside with the tiki torches blaring is near perfection in a meal.

Beautiful setting, completely unacceptable service…read more We sat at the bar while the bartender finished with the guests next to us. I asked for menus and was told, "I'll be right with you." Instead, those guests handed us theirs. When she came back, I asked about the specials. Her answer: "I don't know, I didn't write them down... some kind of fish with risotto." I said I was interested in the soup. She left to find out, came back with "chicken noodle and Thai soup,." When I asked what was in the Thai soup, she said, "I don't know, but there's fish in it." That's not just bad service, it's careless. People have allergies and dietary restrictions. Not knowing what's in the food is inexcusable. I went inside and spoke with the manager, who apologized and agreed that the staff should know the menu and the specials. My husband ordered the pulled pork sandwich with fries for $16.95. It came out with barely any pork and limp, lifeless fries. It's unfortunate, because the setting is beautiful. But between the service and the food, it's simply not worth it. I didn't eat. The service was so poor I lost my appetite. We definitely won't be back.
