We've been to Osteens at least 15 times, particularly after picking up relatives and friends from Sanford airport. I've even had the same breakfast at least 4 times, Country Ham and eggs, (salt cured). Today's Country Ham was so salty it tasted as if the cured Ham was salted again. It was so salty I was unable to eat it. I didn't eat it and mentioned to our Server to have the kitchen Manager taste the Ham. She just looked at me and repeated, well, it's salt cured Ham. For Pete's sake, I've been eating salt cured Ham for 50+ years, I know what salt cured Ham is. I know what good salt cured Ham tastes like and what it shouldn't taste like. This is just a good old fashioned diner. You go in and feel like your back 20-30 years but in a good way the staff is so welcoming and inviting. Saturday morning and we arrived with friends who had been here before. The place was full and had several large groups too. Our server was kind, friendly and efficient. She got our drink order and quickly returned to take our order. DH ordered the country eggs Benedict and I ordered the 2 egg plate with hash browns. The food came out quickly and my food was good. DH was expecting a stronger sausage flavor from the sausage in the gravy for his breakfast. It seemed bland to him. Other than that, it was good. Everyone else liked their food. Our server was juggling several large tables. She checked in with us and she was good but didn't come back to give us refills on our sodas. It might have been an off day so we're planning to give them another chance. They're open until 2 so we'll try something else on the menu. Some of the worst food I've had and it's depressing because I was so looking forward to trying this place cause their parking lot is always fairly crowded. The service was alright, she did the minimum Wait staff is trained to do; take the drink order, take the food order, check in half way, check in on parties done eating when table mates are still eating. Can't complain, she did her job. The food was delivered WAY TO QUICK!!! There is no way anything was fresh cooked besides my eggs. The bacon was limp, fatty and covered in grease, my fingers literally glistened with grease. The hotcakes were so dense that syrup didn't soak in like it normally does and the syrup was also super thick. The orange juice was absolutely from concentrate and tasted gross. My partner got the chicken and waffles with a sweet tea. There was nothing sweet about the tea, I could only taste the bitter of it. The chicken breading was overly salty and dry but the chicken was moist. The waffle was dense and had no crisp to it. The powdered sugar was actually in clumpy lil rocks. My partner said it was like eating a school breakfast. I believe the only reason this place stays open with a well packed parking lot is they're the only show in Osteen. The service as trained and the chicken being moist are the only reasons I'm leaving a 2; instead of a 1. read more

A group of us normally visit Osteen Diner on weekends for breakfast. This place is usually occupied by local folk country folk. For me there are other places I prefer more but today wasn't my pick. The service and prices are good at the Osteen Diner. There is always a crowd but we always get a table without waiting. Today I had two eggs, grits and toast with coffee for around $9.50. Everything tasted good and we had great service. Outside there is a pen with a few head of cattle children can feed. Even though I am an elderly guy I enjoy visiting the animals. Just your typical country diner. I came here for breakfast and ordered a chili cheese omelet - delicious. They are very generous with their portion sizes. The waffles were the small packaged ones you get at Costco in a huge bag... difference is here they just put it on a plate and charge you 500% more (literally, $2 versus the almost $13 on their menu). If you like American diner/Southern comfort fare, this is the place. With a homey atmosphere and quick service, the restaurant serves adequate portions at reasonable prices. My husband's omelet and hash browns were cooked to perfection, and my deep-fried and creamy treats consisted of onion rings, Mac and cheese, fried okra and fried green tomatoes. They also have an extensive menu of pies. Just minor negatives-I thought my sides came with a side of corn bread but that was not given although there was a delicious ranch sauce that was served with the fried green tomatoes. My father ordered avocado with his burger, but they did not have it (probably not much demand for avocado from their average clientele). Also, the hand-written bill was very hard to decipher, and our server started cleaning our table while some of us were still eating like she was trying to get us to leave even though there were several empty tables. Great little country style diner. Service is friendly and seems like regulars are known by name, which gives it a very home-y feel. OMG I wish I would of taken the advise of my fellow Yelpers and only gotten the "pie" and only the "pie" but no it was breakfast time I thought for sure this little diner in the middle of nowhere had to be good since they cater to a local crowd to survive. The two star review will allow me to return and try the PIE! Biscuits and Sausage Gravy - I've never tried so hard to eat anything so horrible but I couldn't do it it was absolutely the worst looking and tasting biscuits and gravy I've every attempted to eat. It was apparent that the biscuits weren't fresh and had been microwaved on the max setting for an extended period of time, the interior of the biscuit was so hot I burnt the insides of my mouth. No conventional oven can heat a biscuit to those temperatures, the gravy was lukewarm slop out of a bag or can from some food service supplier ( I don't think food service gravy could be that bad) it was not only horrible to look at it was disgusting. (You have to look at the photo to believe it) Veggie Omelet - flat and bland there is no need to say anymore. Hash-browns - meh (who can't open a bag and throw some on the flattop Coffee - extremely weak like the grounds were used twice. Service - just okay Although I was extremely disappointed I have to try the pie so I will stop in again if I'm in the area and grab a slice but I would never drive a block out of my way to come here.
