Can't believe we haven't found this quaint 'lil restaurant before now. This is definitely going to be a regular spot for us. Had to get bloodwork done at 6:30am, so afterwards we were close to here and craving breakfast, so it was a no-brainer to stop in here. Having been born and raised in Mississippi, I am always on the hunt for some good southern homestyle cooking and I for sure found it here. First, everything about the outside and inside of the restaurant reminded me of all the lil mom and pop restaurants I was raised going to. Great nostalgia for me. Now was the food going to live up to what the place looked like?? YES! So I went in craving breakfast and then what did my little eye spy on the menu? An open-faced roast beef sandwich and they service breakfast and lunch all day? Well, yes, please and thank you! Forget brekkie, I went straight for that open-faced roast beef with fried and all of it covered in gravy. OH MY! I'm talking this is the kinda food that (as we say in the Deep South) makes you wanna slap your momma! The bread was piled high with fresh roast beef. The fries were steak fries which are my favorite. The gravy topping everything was just the chef's kiss to set everything off! So many things I want to try on the menu, but I think it's going to be a while before I order anything other than that open-faced roast beef! Hubby had scrambled eggs, toast, hash (his fav brekkie food and he asked for it crispy - they delivered), and breakfast potatoes. He said everything was great and that it's the best hash he's had. I have never been a fan of hash, but I always try it. This has I would definitely eat. It was good. Can't say I'd order it myself because I'm just not a fan, but if this is the breakfast that was served to me, I definitely wouldn't turn my nose up at it. Anyway, two big thumbs up from hubby. Wheelchair friendly. Clean restrooms. Great service from our attentive and sweet server. Food came out very fast. I also much mention the Diet Coke. You know how some are just better from certain fountains? Yes, this was one of those cold fountain Coke's that was just so good. It really hit different. I ordered water as per usual because I try to not drink soda too much, especially while I eat, but hubby mentioned how good it was so, of course I had to try it. He was right. Very good indeed. If you are in the area, don't miss out on this lil restaurant. You will not be disappointed! The only negative thing I can say is they are only open until 3pm on weekdays and only until 2pm on the weekends. Guess that's a good complaint though. LOL Sure wish they were open for dinner too b/c we'd really be eating here a lot!! read more

Finally stopped in and was so glad I did. I knew they did breakfast all day so wanted to give the rest of my party the option. Cute family dinner, a throwback to easier times. We started with cheese curds and both decided on sandwiches. I did a tuna melt on rye with Swiss, my sister ordered the market club. Both were delicious. Fries, tots and onion rings are side choices. Daily specials and soups are available. The service was spot on, def a place to become a regular at! Can't wait to go back and try something else. read more

Nothing special, but if you want a good country breakfast The Market is the place to try. The food was good . I had pancakes, eggs & bacon extra crispy and it was cooked perfectly. My husband had sausage links, eggs & grits; the grit needs some more work to get them creamy not lumpy. But, overall we enjoyed everything else. Service was great! read more

This was a good stop for breakfast in the Sanford area. The service is fantastic with friendly wait staff in a friendly atmosphere. The food was good but nothing too special to report. Our bill was $20 for 2 egg breakfasts, a coffee and a tea. read more

Wife and I were in town for the weekend and are always ones to support local business over chains. First impressions are everything and off the bat we did not feel welcomed. Not sure if it was due to us not being locals or us awkwardly standing there waiting for someone to greet us or let us know whether or not it was self seating. Finally after asking if we just sit ourselves, the response was "yea" in a hasty way. Had it not been for the bad first impression along with seemed to be an overworked server working both the dining tables and counter (which I could look past). We love finding new places for breakfast so we decided to give The Market a try. Pros-Staff was friendly. We were seated quickly. Biscuits were amazing. Cons-Staff barely wore their masks, when we asked if their Corned Beef was homemade, our server said, "No, it's out of a can. I love it better than homemade!" Trying to convince us. When my husband's over easy eggs came , the whites were runny and unappetizing. When he told our server she went on to explain that over easy means runny whites. Umm, no. Runny yolks, set whites. Anyway, she took his plate and recooked his order. It came out perfect and hot. If they had done that the first time we may have given them 4 stars, but the lackadaisical way the staff wears masks made us concerned how they were handling the safety of our food. If you love little mom and pop restaurants this is the spot. With only 2 servers and a full house the food always comes out fresh and fast. The sweet tea is yummy and we get a little lemon juice for the iced tea and water which is great. The Philly cheesesteak is where it's at. The bread is crisp so not soggy and the definitely don't skimp on the meat peppers and onions. I love adding jalapeños and mushrooms. My son loves the cheeseburger and French fries and yes he eats it for breakfast. Lately I have been getting the pollo k fish sandwich minus the bread and the tartar sauce is so yummy. Every weekend an employee draws an amazing character on the special. Oars and we get super excited to see what's on there. Blackberry pie is super yummy. Especially with a Scoop of vanilla ice cream. The servers are quick and efficient and we love going in there and we are willing to wait for a free table because we get delicious food and great service at a decent price. read more

If you just want a regular breakfast, with no frills this is the place. I ordered the 1/2 biscuit/gravy that came with eggs and bacon. Gravy was great, eggs well cook and bacon super crispy. My kid ordered the boat special - which is created with layers of yummy ingredients - bottom layer potatoes (well seasoned), eggs (we opted for scrambled),gravy and, of course, cheese with turkey sausages on the side and to top it off, 2 slices of break. The breakfast of champions. I didn't try the coffee so not sure if good or not. Staff is super friendly and excellent prices. While dropping off family at SFB, we thought we would try this place out. Very glad we did. Nice people in a friendly atmosphere. Food was great, all cooked to order. This place seem to have no covid restrictions in place. Not one server or chef had any mask on. The kitchen was viewable from my seating area and chef had a baseball cap on while cooking. While the portions were large the taste was ok. The pork chop was super dry don't try it. The coffee was really great. I had two cups which don't do often. The price was as my friends said, GREAT.
