I have had great experiences here and bad experiences here. It's a 50/50 on what you're going to get, unfortunately. When it is good, it's very good. And when it is bad, it's bad. I'm surprised with the price tag on this good that simple items such as bacon and eggs can't be cooked correctly 50% of the time. Staff are usually nice. The ambience is nice. I can't get over them serving burnt crunch bacon and then bringing out undercooked bacon. They have been capable of in between. Eggs over medium tend to come out with runny whites (over easy). Even had them come out solid. For the price, this should be a rare problem. read more

KeKe's never disappoints, I had no wait time, our booth was clean, service was spot on. I ordered the Florida Waffle crispy w bacon, 4 pieces cook to perfection. I had a small OJ which was pretty big. The atmosphere was bright and clean. The waitress checked on us numerous times. My only concern was it was FREEZING and they had the fans on. I've been wanting to eat at KeKe's for quite some time now. The Breakfast look delicious, especially the pancakes and I have heard great things from coworkers who have been here in the past. We arrived on a Sunday morning around 11:15 am and were seated right away. The staff are friendly and our server Hannah was super sweet. The restaurant is large and has a bunch of booths for seating, pretty much diner-style with a variety of folk-art fruit and vegetable paintings throughout the interior. There are a lot of hard surfaces, so it can get loud even when the restaurant isn't packed. Our meals arrived about 20 minutes after our order. I went with the Eggs Benedict and home fries ($13.99) and Nancy chose the Carolina Chicken Wrap with kettle chips (13.99). My Eggs Benedict were cooked perfectly; however, the hollandaise sauce could have been warmer. Also, my home fries were pretty much room temp. Like they were cooked earlier and were sitting out. The food was very tasty, but I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't as hot as I would have liked. Nancy let me sample her Carolina Chicken Wrap and this too was room temp. The flavor and selection of ingredients were delicious, but I could tell the fried chicken tenders inside were not cooked fresh, and the ingredients rolled inside were not hot. The wrap also was not warmed or griddled before rolling the ingredients inside. I do have to say that the kettle chips were perfect. I might not complain as much if the total cost of the meal was under $20, but this meal with tax and tip was near $36 - even with only ordering water as a drink. Yes, we could have let staff know we were not completely happy with our meals, but we had another obligation shortly after our departure and didn't want to prolong our stay for this reason. I know today's meal wasn't perfect but it was good, all of the flavor and ingredients were there to make a 5 -star meal, but because of the circumstances on this particular experience I can only give them 3-stars. read more

The service was friendly right off the bat from the host. He seated us right away. Our server was Debbie. She took our order and was informative with our options and explained the portions. She had that Southern charm. The food was delicious. I ordered the combo. I added blueberries to my pancakes. I asked for my eggs over easy with sausages. Everything came out exactly as I asked for it. I had no complaints. Debbie checked in on us periodically and refilled our drinks as needed. The location was convenient, just off of I4. I was pleasantly surprised with my visit to the Keke's in Sanford. The place was busy as usual on a Sunday but the manager was super friendly and welcoming with everyone. He had his team in order and kept people moving. I want to say kudos to him and the young man working alongside with him at the check in desk. Both were polite and kept a positive and courteous attitude despite how busy the place was. We started off our breakfast with coffee and orange juice. For our plates I ordered the eggs Benedict with a side of home fries, my husband ordered the create your own combo ( banana nut pancakes, eggs and bacon) and my dad ordered a Southwest omelette. Everything came out quickly and it was good. Breakfast is served daily from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and lunch starts at 10:30 a.m. The restaurant is big and is not too loud. We came here on a Sunday afternoon about noon. This restaurant is near a busy shopping plaza but was not very busy we got right in. Our waitress was super sweet oozing with kindness. She brought us two waters and then we ordered our meal. My husband got the eggs Benedict with potatoes and I got the Carolina fried Chicken wrap with bacon, cheese pecans lettuce. All the food was very good but it was not hot. All the food was served lukewarm which was a bummer. I would have preferred my fried chicken to be served hot but it was serpent warm to almost cold. My husband's potatoes for the same way lukewarm. The eggs Benedict was delicious and was served a tad bit hotter I guess because they made that fresh. This is my first time coming to Keke's. The host and hostess were quite pleasant and efficient. The tables turned quickly on a Sunday morning. Sierra was such a lovely server and was proactive in offering what we needed. I have been to Kekes plenty of times and have been trying to give them a fair review. Pretty standard ambiance doesn't really have much of a theme but the color brown. I will say they do plate the food nicely every time I have come and the food looks good. The staff at Kekes I have encountered have been very nice but service is slow every time I've been here. Today I tried something a bit different than my usual, I got a Greek Omelet. I am sorry to say but it just was not good. The spinach and tomato tasted like they weren't cooked to be put in the omelet just tossed in before they wrapped the omelet. The flavors didn't get to marry and the spinach just tasted dry. The tomatoes weren't cooked so they just tasted watery. The inside of the omelet is filled with feta cheese and I mean filled. Way too much feta cheese tasted very sour. I feel like all these ingredients would have gone well together if it was executed differently. It came with toast that was buttered it was standard no complaints. It also came with home fries, these are bad. I've had them in a previous visit and they were bad but I wanted to try again to see if it was an off day. It just taste like potato with onion no seasoning no flavor and a little burnt. Let's talk about what they do well, sweet breakfast items. This is the only thing I recommend ordering here. The French toast, pancakes, or the waffles are always good here. I will say none of these items never really wow me either but are good standard breakfast food. I like their hot chocolate as well and it comes with a mountain of cream. Very messy and a bit impractical to eat but delicious. The hot chocolate taste like any other hot chocolate but the cream must be made in house. It's not whipped cream it's like dense cream on top it's really good. I don't think I would come back here on my own. I would come with friends and family if invited. Sticking to the sweet breakfast items of course. read more

We tried the Banana Caramel Pecan Stuffed French Toast, Chcoclate Chocolate Chip Pancakes and the Original Buttermilk Pancakes, as well as eggs, bacon, grits and Turkey Sausage. All was cooked to perfection, though my husband prefers his pancakes cooked a little bit longer, but the flavor was amazing! The service was friendly and professional, though a little slow. My family and I went to Keke's in Sanford, FL, to enjoy a nice breakfast with family. First we had a party of 15. We tried to call in advance to reserve a space for everyone to be able to sit together. We were told that they do not do reservations. So when we got there, we waited about 45 minutes to be seated only to squeeze in 2 separate booths. Then, once we were seated, we noticed that they were setting up an area for another party of 15, all seated together. We asked the manager (Eric)why we didn't get that area so our family could all sit together. First, the manager said that the other party reserved it a week ago. Then he said they paid for the table, then he said they are regulars, so they accommodated them for that reason. None of which made sense. Either you make reservations or you don't. This was not a good experience at all. Had we received fair treatment, we may have become regulars, but instead, we will take our money elsewhere in the future. read more

Keke's was a good option for us to begin our vacation after traveling via train for 17 hours. The restaurant was easy to find as it's situated in a suburban town center with large box stores. There was no wait time when we arrived and our party of 5 were seated right away. Our waitress was amazing, she was attentive, had great suggestions, easy to talk to and help us throughout our visit. I had the BLTEC...bacon, lettuce, tomato, egg and cheese. I think I created my new favorite sandwich. It was excellent! My aunt had the turkey club which she enjoyed, my wife had french toast, my blueberry french toast and my niece Florida french toast. My wife's was "average", my sister didn't enjoy hers and my niece thought hers was great. Once upon a time, it seemed that greasy spoon diners or luncheonettes were pretty much the only option if you wanted to go grab breakfast. Now with places like Keke's Breakfast Cafe and First Watch, you have better options if you are seeking to eat out for the first meal of the day (and what I was told since grade school was the most important meal of the day). Keke's Breakfast Cafe is a hometown creation, having started here in Orlando, Florida back in 2006 by brothers Keith and Kevin Mahen. Back then it had the more straightforward name of the Florida Waffle Shop. This location was on Conroy Road and when the brothers started eying the horizon of expansion, they went with the name Keke's (which was a combination of both of their names) both because the name was perceived as more catchy and also because they could not obtain a trademark for the business name Florida Waffle Shop. From that humble beginning of one location, Keke's has grown to over forty locations here in Florida. The reason they have not expanded beyond the Sunshine State yet is that they have not saturated the market yet. The menu at Keke's Breakfast Cafe is filled with the usual breakfast favorites like waffles, omelets,eggs benedict and more. They also have a lunch menu, but I have only tried their breakfast offerings. All in all, my breakfast here was an overall winner. The food was very good, the ambiance was a great alternative to the standard greasy spoon breakfast joint with cheap chairs and chipped tables and my server was friendly, attentive and professional. Went to Keke's on a recent visit to Sanford. Although it was quite busy and had a line, we were seated fairly quickly. We went the other morning as a treat after a very productive early am to relax and let someone else cook. This was a partial mistake. The pancakes we huge ( as usual) and they were alright. I got toast (cold) with bacon as well. My hubby decided on the eggs Benedict, because at home this is a labor intensive breakfast that is more time consuming, so getting it out is great. I make it once in a while, but we eat poached eggs all the time. The plan was to share and split those huge pancakes. It did not work, because the poached eggs were very undercooked. I'm not sure about you out there, but my whites need to not be clear, so it was disgusting to me. The potatoes as the side were undercooked and a couple were still basically cold from however their prep is ( we thought baked, then cut for frying) and there were little to no signs of browning in the pan at all. The restaurant was not busy ( maybe 10 tables occupied) so I can't blame the crowd for sub- par food. The wait staff is nice, but if you are charging the higher prices the food needs to follow. This was the second time we went to the lake Mary location and I think that we are done. The manager did walk by our table a time or two, but he never introduced himself or asked how things were and he never smiled, so we left it alone. We don't have any major complaints, but for 15.00 a plate I expect better food to be served and someone to be checking food quality in the kitchen. read more

This was my first time to Keke's. The staff was friendly and the service was in a timely manner. However the food simply wasn't there flavor wise. The French toast tasted bland and really wasn't very impressive. It was much larger pieces than I expected though. The potatoes weren't very hot and needed seasoning. I was using the salt packets, which I never have to do when I go out. Honestly the best part of the meal was the toast. But I mean that would be difficult to get wrong. I was disappointed this morning, I was looking forward to having breakfast here today. I was greeted by the host and manager in duty and they were polite. The issue was the server. She made us wait to take our order. She finally showed up and I was telling her what I wanted and didn't allow me to finish. She interrupted me and when I asked her to hold on I was finished telling her what I wanted she gave me the attitude. I didn't feel comfortable there and left.
